Discussion Pre-Rotation Thought About How the Meta Will Change

Hey everyone Jay from BroGaming here and I just wanted to talk about some things that might go down when the rotation in August 2017 happens and we see some of the major cards in the format go away and change. I would like to here some thoughts on this subject and I made a video expressing my thoughts and opinions about the 2018 rotation. I'll replay to all comments! Thanks!

I think people aren't going to hurt as much from losing Shaymin ex now that we have tapu lele. But I know people like myself who run decidueye/ grass decks are going to suffer with out Forest of giant plants. And also without team magmas secret base, Drampa GX and Garadose decks will lose power.

Very true decidueye is going to take a big hit losing forest of giant plants. I wonder if it will still be able to have the speed that it once did. We are getting diancie but I don't think that is going to make up for losing forest. I didn't even think about losing team magmas secret base! Thanks for putting that on out there. Yeah without that Drampa-Gx decks might fade out and Gyarados might see a big downfall! Thanks for all the thoughts I planning on posting another discussion video on this topic once the rotation comes closer!

Drampa GX will still be fine and Gyarados AT is rotated out anyways. The card I will miss the most is Vs Seeker. Planning out the exact supporter count in advance will be more important.

I agree. I think what we may have to do is max out both N and Sycamore, add in some draw supporters like Lillie or Hala, and then run...this is painful...Shauna.

No reason to run Shauna at all. Just in SUM3 there are multiple viable supporters. Honestly, I would look at running something that could take advantage of Mallow before I would consider something like Shauna. Sheesh, I might even consider Hau and *that* is painful LOL!

Maybe Wicke? Wicke is probably alot better than Shauna....and good god, if I have to run Hau I will cry. Maybe my Mallow/Octillery thing will see some play?

All of these are great IMO. I honestly would rather figure out some way to run Hala over Shauna LOL!!!! Oh, and don't sleep on Lillie. I think she is light years better than Shauna and Hau as well. There are so many good supporters coming out that will actually see play in this format where they wouldn't have in previous ones.

Yeah without VS seeker the game with change a lot. You can't get back what you once used. Well at least it will be a lot harder to get back those supporters.
 
Losing Team Magma's Secret Base won't hurt Drampa too much at all. The new stadium "Po Town" will put 3 damage counters when you evolve a Pokemon on your bench. Rainbow energy is also an option.

Yeah something that I missed is Po Town and the Rainbow energy is something that I never thought about.
