If we look at all the sets from DP and up, we can see a sort of pattern.
In DP, we had a lot of Baby pokemon, such as these:
Yet, in DP, there was an absence of Sudowoodo and Mr. Mime. Thus, we could assume that in a future set, there would be a Sudowoodo and a Mr. Mime. Lo and behold, MT has both of those cards
In MT, we have this card:
Yet, there is no Luxio or Luxray in this set. But, we do have knowlage of an upcoming Luxray and Luxio for a future set, thus completing the evolution line. IIRC, this is the only uncompleted evolution line in MT.
Looking at SW, two card stands out to us.
Here are two cards that again, have there Evolution Chain uncompleted. From this, we can predict that there will at some point (probably DP7), be another Honchkrow. There is that Dusknoir Japan BR promo, which may make it into some future american set (as the Meeji Chocolate Promo Burmy made it into MD).
GE, fortuanatly, has no Incomplete Evolution Chains, making Prereleases Decks easier to build.
Now, MD has too many of these Incomplete Evolution cards to have pictures of. But, because there are two copies of Piplup, Turtwig, and Chimchar, we can assume that the upcomming Infernape, Empoleon, and Torterra (where they are there "second type, Fighting, FIghting, and Metal) will only feature the Stage 1 and the Stage 2, meaning that they could not be used for the tournament. Other cards like this in MD include Stunky, Glameow, Drifloon, Starly/Staravia, Lickitung, Shellos, Aipom, Bunery, and Burmy. I mention Burmy because they only printed Sand Cloak Burmy, meaning that we could possibly get three new Wormadams. Also, because there is only one Shellos, we can expect the west sea slugs, along with East Sea Gastradon. I mention Aipom because there are two copies of it, yet only one Ambipom in the set. I did not mention Eevee because there are a total of 7 different evolutions for it. THere is a "good" eevee with Call For Family, which could evolve into any of the normal Evolutions. Then the "bad" eevee, with Sand Attack, would evolve into the Theme Deck Version of Leafeon and Glaceon. So we shouldn't expect any more Eeveelutions.
By looking at the POP sets, we could expect a new Raichu and a new Garchomp/Gabite.
I posted this so that other members could use this as insite for predicting new cards to come be released.
