Hey i need suggestions on how to make a deck for the prerelease for the six booster some good strategies and pointers would help but thanks for every one who replies Thanks

A good idea is to choose two or so types, and build your deck around those. For instance, if you get a number of good Grass and Water types, you should use those in your decks. Also, for each set, there is usually a thread on here that discusses the good cards of a certain's sets Pre-release. The SV happens to be on the first page of this forum, so if you're going to an SV one, you might want to look at that thread for some ideas of good Pokes to use in the PR.

As for Trainers, use ANY Trainers you pull. Nearly all Trainers you pull will be useful at some point, even cards like Potion and Energy Search. If you pull any Special Energy, it is probably a good idea to run those as well, unless you have SP Energy but no Pokemon-SP in your deck. In general, about 16 to 22 slots of your deck will be Energy, around 14 to 18 slots will be Pokemon, and around 2 to 6 slots will be Trainers.

Colorless Pokemon are also decent in the Pre-release, seeing as they can use any energy type. If you get a 2-2 line of a decent Stage 1 in your packs, you should build your deck around that, as a 2-2 line is pretty good in a PR.

OK. I've done decently in all of my prereleases, (2nd place or 1st place, NEVER third) so I can give you a few pointers.

1.) LOOK AT ALL YOUR CARDS. Don't overlook even the cruddiest of Magikarp. If you have a 1-1 line, run it. I ran 1-1 Altaria ex d in the EX Dragon Frontiers prerelease and it saved my butt.

2.) Add enough Energy. Don't be one of those losers who run 5 Energy like the people do in 60 card decks. This is a mistake that a lot of people have done in the past I've seen. It's hilarious. :p

3.) Don't use Trainer cards unless they're gonna help your deck. Don't throw in a card that's gonna support one of the cards in your Prerelease deck.

4.) USE THOSE POWERHOUSES!! If two of your Pokemon can deal 30-50 damage with 1-2 Energy, that's good. Use those cards.

5.) Don't overthink things/Don't strategize. Don't plan on using a major strategy here: keep your game plan simple.

That's how I've won in the past. The only way you can lose is if your opponent has a better start and an amazing deck. Good luck!

Are there any different deck building rules in pre-releases? You're supposed to bring your own energy right? Can I bring energy from the first set as I am new to this game and I do not have a huge collection of cards?

The Energy is usually provided by the Tournament Organizer.

dmaster out.
