Primal Clash Deck Possibilities

Ok with primal clash coming out in less then a month i am having trouble deciding what deck I want to build first or what idea possibilites i want to try out. What decks are you planning on building first. What ideas do you guys have for potental decks whether it be rouge or along the lines of any tier.

I think the first deck I want to build is some sort of water deck with primal kyogre and swampert and all of the water support coming from the set. I also have many ideas of cards that i want to try out together like ninetails/ Trevenant EX/ Seismitoad EX

I'm definitely running a Mega Aggron deck. That 240 damage output is just too tempting to pass over! Also determined to make a Flygon deck happen.

I'm going to try to run a Gardevoir deck, but if that doesn't work out/I can't manage to trade for a Gardevoir line/buy one for cheap enough, I'll probably just end up running a Seismitoad/Slurpuff deck revised for Primal clash (mostly w/ Acro Bikes, Archies Ace, Dive Ball, PBO, Teammates, and POSSIBLY Silent Lab/Rough Seas (DEPENDING on what the metagame is like. I'd rather get 10 damage off on Virgen and possibly sleep than NO damage). I'd also like to try to get a Mew/Raticate deck going (w/ stuff like Bats, Wobbles, and Chandelure EX), and possibly a Beedrill/Dragalge deck.

Mega Gardevoir EX is something I want to try, since I already have everything else I need for a Fairy deck. I also wanted to build AT Excadrill, mainly because of all the people that will start playing Gardevoir, but also because it will be quite a bit cheaper.

I'm definitely making a Mega Gardevoir deck, and mostly investing on getting the new Trainer cards. Especially escape rope and energy retrieval reprints, to add to my existing decks.

All of the megas have a lot of potential.

I haven't had much success with Kyogre (bad build + bad matchup), but I think with a good build, it can be powerful.

Gardevoir has been amazing so far. It fits right in with Aromatisse and Xerneas and is the missing piece that fairy decks have been lacking.

I'm trying Groudon which I think has potential to be a top tier deck with such great fighting support and a nice defensive ability.

As for trainers, Teammates is a nice card, even with the activation condition. I see this working best in Flareon, Night March, Donphan, or any deck which spams the field with one prize attackers for quick knock outs. Basically, a staple for any deck which doesn't rely on EXes.

I would really like to run something with Sharpedo EX and Gardevoir EX (maybe even a Mega Gardevoir?), two separate decks with some interesting effects going on but I don't know what yet.

I heard Fairy and maybe even Wailord EX (that HP though) would be getting big in metagame so who knows? I might make something different altogether.

My 2 decks I am going to try at first is Mega Gardy EX and Primal Kyogre EX w/ Kyurem (LT and PLF)
^This, except not with Kyurems.

MegaGarde with and without Aromatisse (but heavy Xerneas in both versions).
Hopefully can make Archie and/or Maxie viable. Maybe Maxie/MegaLucario/Baby Lando/Compressors.

Teammates is an interesting card and is basically a functional reprint of Twins. Hopefully setup decks can work better with Teammates, though Seismitoad will always be a pain.

ToadGarb to disrupt Teammate decks as well as Aromatisse and Metal, which are sure to become more popular.

In terms of the decks that will actually see real competitive play, the ones I want to try most are...

Ancient Swampert/Slurpuff - I like Stage 2 attacker decks, budget decks, and water decks. Boom, they somehow all got mixed into 1! Swampert is super strong, and a 2-2 Slurpuff line to coincide with it is a great addition for draw support! You can even run a quick Reshiram line for countering Virizion/Genesect if you want!

Blaziken Mix/Yanmega - This is a fun little archetype that I've been making myself. 2 FUF Blaziken's for absolute sniping power, and 2 PRC Blaziken's for Energy acceleration and pressure appliance. Yanmega covers Water Types, especially Seismitoad-EX, and Ancient Torchic can help set up quicker. I don't expect it to work every time, but it does seem pretty fun to try out!

Emboar/Camerupt-EX - I probably won't personally make this deck because I don't have the money to afford it, but I will try this out on TCGone. It seems just about as strong as Magneboar, minus the draw power. Might even consider a Yanmega line in here for the same reason as above.

Whiscash/Zekrom/Reshiram/Tauros - Apply quick pressure and damage with Whiscash, and it all powers up the attackers on the Bench. Zekrom and Reshiram cover Type Advantage, and Tauros is the heavy hitter.

Wailord ex, aurorus ff, rough seas. Virizion
I'm determined to make it work

Just attach the item sparkling robe, removes all status conditions from the user.

I never thought of that. Good idea however I really wanted to use hard charm for survivability OR rock guard. It's highly unlikely that wailord will be OHKO with rough seas and aurorus in play it'll probably take 3-5 turns to kill it. With rock guard on IT that's up to 300 damage

I have to admit, I want to make one with Primal Groudon. I just really like the idea of a centrepiece that can't be hammered, lasered, Lysandred, etc.

Since it is so slow, I am thinking pretty aggressive energy acceleration. Something like

2 Professors' Letters (maybe even 3)
2 Battle Compressors
2 Scorched Earth stadium (as well as 2-3 fighting stadium)
4 ultraball
2 EXP share (maybe)
3 Baby Landorus

With this setup, the chances of being able to start with a Baby Landorus and get multiple energy in the discard pile very early should be pretty good.

I discovered that you could make a deck around the new supporter, teammates. What you do is use an assortment of cheap attackers that with the help of Muscle Bang and Bangle, can hit magic numbers against certain cards. This idea has existed for a while, but with teammates in the format, you can respond much faster with the appropriate counter. My version uses Flareon, but the star is Hawlucha combined with Silent Lab (allowing Hawlucha to hit for weakness). The free retreat means that it can be promoted when knocked out. Then teammates can grab the Pokemon you need to respond with along with what ever item or energy card you need. Ideally, you should play all non EX so you don't have to give up 2 prizes, but I play Mewtwo EX and Seismitoad EX because they are too good not to.

It's a fun deck and one that I think has a lot of potential.

Teammates will work really well either with "glass cannons" like Hawlucha and Medicham, or with "setup" Pokemon like Baby Yveltal, Baby Landorus, Baby Xerneas and Pokemon with "Call for Family". Lay some damage down, accelerate a bit of energy, and when you lose the Pokemon.... what is essentially double computer search.

An M-Manectric healing deck is a really obvious choice.

The idea will be to have 2 M-Manectric out at all times. A couple of Jynx with "Victory Kiss", 4 copies of "Rough Seas", Pokemon Centre Lady, max potions etc. You'd be healing off 20 damage per turn if you didn't have Rough Seas down and 50 damage if you did, before you even looked at other healing cards. Max potion, of course, works because the other M-Manectric will turbo bolt the energy back right away.

I ran a Kyogre and primal Kyogre deck last night and it ran quite well with the current stuff.

2 Kyogre EX
2 Primal Kyogre EX
1 Kangaskhan Ex
1 Keldeo EX
2 Clampearls
2 Huntails
2 suicunes Plasma Blast

4 dive balls
2 archies
1 teammates
2 lysandre
2 battle compressors
2 kyogre spirit link
2 fresh water set
4 sycamore
4 professor birch
3 rough seas
2 escape ropes
2 floatstones
2 startling megaphones

12 water energy
4 double colorless energy

It worked out well for me I got 11 wins with it last night I'm still tinkering with it but i think it is very usable and predict seeing some varient or combonation of it becoming a mainstay when the set offically becomes legal.
