Prime Cards in 3rd Party Packages

Just letting my fellow collectors know:

So I picked up a few of these third party re-packaged booster thingys today. They come with 1 random pack and 1 random foil card. Surprisingly, one of them came with an Espeon Prime!

The others came with random reverse holos from the HGSS era (all of them were commons or uncommons), so I was quite surprised to get this. It's legit too -- it has holographics unlike most fake cards, and it passes the "black line" test. And with the exception of a slight scuff on one of the corners, it is in good condition.

Good luck!

Yeah, I've seen that happen very often. I once saw a video on YouTube from a guy who found one with a Raikou-EX. Let me find it and I'll edit this post.

Edit:
Here it is, it was even visible in a 2-pack Blister:

I'd check those 3rd party bundles as much as you can, you might end up with some Secret Rare, or FA Pokémon. :D

where does one get these?

I've seen them at my local Targets. I know that Walmart used to have tons of these 3rd party re-packs back in the day, although tbh I don't live close enough to a Walmart anymore so I haven't been there in ages lol. The best thing I pulled from one of these things, was a 1st Edition Haunter holo from Fossill. Not the most valuable card, but at least they aren't all bad packs :D

I've seen these and other similar looking packages, mainly at Target. Most of the cards like Primes have been rotated, and thus don't have much value. The Raikou-EX surprised me though. I've always been suspicious about these third party packages having fakes, but it's good to see that you guys are pulling legit cards. My local KMart was selling fake cards a while back, but they've all dissappeared, hopefully because the store realized they weren't real.

Yeah I have seen this before but I always wonder if the card are really real and if the boosters themselves are real as well. I always think they are fake so I try not to buy them because I am not sure how real they are. I always buy from a legitimate retail store like Wal Mart since I know all of their cards are the real deal XD.:)

Hey, Plasma Freeze isn't such a bad set either. Although I've always wondered if the people that make those packages weigh their packs.

I'd still be wary, though, I've heard from different sources that Walmart used to have fake packages for sale.

Although that's a possibility, it's still somewhat worth the shot if you find a nice holo in them. Like the Raikou-EX... :p

Remember the Prime Challenge Boxes? The distributor probably had a stack of those leftover that they dismantled. I remember the Espeon Prime one, in particular, shelfwarming at my local ToysRus.

Really???? Where? I have never gotten fake cards from my Walmart before. That's odd XD.:)

Yeah, I generally only buy official packaging, but I took a risk. I can verify all the packs I've bought in the packaging I pictured above have been legit. I always examine dodgy cards with a magnifying glass for the black line test. :p

I don't go to Wal-Mart personally; I use Target for cards.

Yeah, I worry about that too. But the pull ratios seem to be about the same (roughly 1 in 3 for holos). They might weigh, but if they do, they don't do it very well. :p

I haven't seen repackaged 3rd party cards at Walmart. I've only seen them at Target and Meijers. I bought tons of the ones with the Pikachu holo. And from those I've gotten Rayquaza C Lv. X, Dialga Lv. X, in one pack I got both a Thundurus FA from the old set and a Zekrom FA from Next Destinies.

Then from the MJ Holding packages I've gotten Virizion Ex and the 12/106 Charizard Ex.

From the packs with the primes I've gotten Machamp Prime and Yanmega Prime.

Target is over priced by $2.00-$3.00 on Cards XD. Cards at Walmart are about $.00+ tax and Target is usually about $6.00-$7.00. Same with K-Mart. They are high on cards as well too. Fred Meyer and Walmart are your best places. If you live in the west you can get them at Fred Meyer for about the same price as Walmart.:)

I don't know why. Our Target carries the same price as Wal-Mart, which is the same price as Gamestop. Sure that's not a store-specific thing, and the Target you went to is the only one in your area that pulls that business?

Only store I've ever avoided for Pokemon Cards is Toys-R-Us. You want to see overpriced cards, oooooh do they have you covered.

Might because it is in my mall where I live.:)

Remember to stay on topic, guys! ;)

A friend of mine from USA told me that he saw one of them and bought it. It had half a Deoxys & Rayquaza LEGEND in it, so the cards in there can get really random.

I've bought a few of the packs from Target or Meijer, though I never got anything great from the randomly inserted holo (mostly they were HGSS black star promos). What I always loved about the packs were the old booster packs you would sometimes see in those sets. :D I found some occasionally with EX-era booster packs and I would always snatch those up because it's my favourite era of the TCG.

I haven't been to Wal-Mart or Target or anything in the last few months but I remember seeing some blister like "10 Random Cards + 1 Holo Card + Booster Pack" and the pack was an EXPower Keepers!! Too bad I didn't bring my money that time. D:

I've actually had great luck with the single pack blisters +1 random holo. While my random "holo" is usually a reverse, I've managed to pull secret rare chandelure, FA Mewtwo EX, FA Terakkion EX, and a Regigigas EX. A friend who also bought some got FA Giratina EX, and regular Giratina EX. I trust these things a lot, I've never got fake cards, and the pulls I've seen from them are crazy. Definitely not weighed.
