Like the dillema with the darkrai X and its special energy. Probopass is a new one.

I was thinking, NM. Here is the cards text:

Probopass LV.46 – Fighting – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Nosepass

Poke-Body: Metal Coat
Damage done to this Pokemon by your opponent's attacks is reduced by 10 for each Metal Energy attached to this Pokemon. Metal Energy after the second doesn't count.

[F][C][C] Metal Bomber: 60 damage. Choose a number of Pokemon on your opponent's Bench equal to the number of Metal Energy cards attached to Probopass. This attack also does 20 damage to each of the chosen Pokemon. (Even if you choose the same Pokemon multiple times, it only takes 20 damage.)

Weakness: Water (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3



SO! Since the card says, that for each metal energy attached to it reduces damage by 10, this can be special or basic, right? If it can be special, than if you have 2 metal, does damage reduce by 40? I need help, thanks!
 
It doesn't specify, so yes the Metal energies can be either basic or special.

To answer your second question the English version of the card says you can't reduce more than 20 damage in this way. So no, it won't reduce the damage by 40.

Yeah. But "in this way" means the pokebody, not the special metal, so whats your call on that?
 
Ah, true... sorry about that. In that case I would say that it does reduce by 40 but I'm not an official judge or anything so take my help with a grain of salt. ._.

It would reduce by 40 -- 20 from the Poke-Body, 10 for each special Metal.

Edit: It would reduce by 40, if Probopass were a Metal type and could benefit from Special Metal. Too bad it's not.
 
YES! Crud. I was hoping to reduce by 40, so kingdra would do 20....
 
Yeah, Special Metals work their magic on metal-types only so, its only 20 defense.
