Hello! New here and I was hoping I could get some opinions on the deck I built. It is a Mega Mewtwo EX deck that focuses on setting him up and then doing a clean sweep for game.

Pokémon: 16
  • 3 Larvesta (Ancient Origins)
  • 3 Volcarona (Ancient Origins)
  • 3 Mewtwo EX (Breakthrough, 62/162)
  • 3 Mega Mewtwo EX (Breakthrough, 64/162)
  • 2 Shaymin EX (Roaring Skies)
  • 1 Gengar EX (Phantom Forces)
  • 1 Hoopa EX (Black Star Promo)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 31
  • 4 Professor Sycamore (XY)
  • 3 Professor Birch's Observations (Primal Clash)
  • 2 Hex Maniac (Ancient Origins)
  • 1 Judge (Breakthrough)
  • 2 Lysandre (Ancient Origins)
  • 4 VS Seeker (Phantom Forces)
  • 3 Mewtwo Spirit Link (Breakthrough)
  • 1 Mega Turbo (Roaring Skies)
  • 4 Ultra Ball (Flash Fire)
  • 1 Super Rod (Breakthrough)
  • 1 Switch (XY)
  • 1 Escape Rope (Primal Clash)
  • 2 Dimension Valley (Phantom Forces)
  • 2 Shrine of Memories (Primal Clash)
Energy: 13
  • 9 Psychic Energy
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

The Strategy is to use Mega Mewtwo EX's Psychic Infinity to sweep the opponents in play Pokemon. But first you have to set it up. Usually I use an Ultra Ball to search out Hoopa EX and play him to search out 3 other basic EX Pokemon, i.e. Mewtwo EX x2, and a Shaymin EX, Then I'll play the 2 Mewtwo then play Shaymin f0r draw power, but if I don't have Hoopa or an Ultra Ball, I'll more than likely have a Volcarona in play already, so I attach an energy, use Solar Birth to search a Mewtwo, then use Solar Birth's second effect of attaching 2 basic energy to the Pokemon you searched out with it. The deck recycles itself a lot with it running 4 VS Seeker, that way you can keep shuffling your dead hand back into deck with Birch's Observations then add it right back with VS Seeker. I also attach multiple Double Colorless energies to the Mega Mewtwo to power it up even more. If I don't draw into a Switch or Escape Rope, then I'll either wait for the active Pokemon to die or I'll pay the retreat cost to bring it back, but once a powered up M Mewtwo EX hits the active zone, my opponent usually doesn't like it. I do win consistently with this deck as the only decks that beat me are fast-paced decks.
