PTCGO problem: unavailable server

Since I got a new modem, I haven't been able to log on to PTCGO without getting that message telling me that the server I specified is unavailable. I'm pretty sure it's my firewall (Norton), but I'm not sure exactly what the problem is. I tried updating the program rules to allow PTCGO access, but to no avail.

Anyone else have a similar problem cause this is getting really annoying.
 
I think my friend had to disable his firewall in order to get it to work so that might be the issue.

Doesn't that leave the computer open to viruses and stuff? (sorry, I'm not the smartest when it comes to computers which is why this whole thing is frustrating).

Firewall prevent computers from probing your computer. To prevent viruses, you need anti-virus program.
 
Well tried disabling the Norton firewall. That did Jack. It's probably the new modem, but unfortunately, that's not on my computer (I'm on a laptop sharing a connection with my home computer). I'm so pissed I could break something.
 
Well I found a temporary solution by using Linksys, but that's too laggy and eventually disconnected me in the middle of a match. Would only use as last resort.
