Poke-Power: Gleam Eyes
You may use this power once during your turn, when you play Luxray from your hand to evolve 1 of your Pokemon. Look at your opponent’s hand. If your opponent has room on his or her Bench, you may choose a Basic Pokemon from your opponent’s hand and put it on the Bench. Then, switch the newly Benched Pokemon with 1 of your opponent’s Active Pokemon.

So the question is this, would using this power allow my opponent to trigger poke-powers of his own if the basic pokemon i chose to pull out from his hand were, for example, lapras or absol ex?

No, I don't think so because cards like Absol ex stated "when you put Absol ex from your hand", so that means, your opponent can't use it...

P.S. I'm sorry if I'm wrong about this... :)

And I confirm cause the others were not sure. NO, if you put a pokemon into your opponent's bench, from your opponents hand, it's not them playing the card. Those kind of poke-powers that say "when you play ... from your hand to evolve 1 of your pokemon" only work when the owner of the card plays them.

Essentially emphasizing what I said about the ruling! :)

He posted because you said "I don't think." Your post indicated you weren't entirely certain. He just clarified it. I do it all the time.

The question has been answered, so we're done here.
