Ruling question about lvx

You can't. You can only get basic and evolved pokemon with pokemon retriever.

lv x count as basic and evolved pokemon, but not one each(they are not evolution, or basic)

A pre-DP card that says "Basic Pokemon or Evolution card" can fetch any Pokemon card, including a Level X.

then why does the rules say that you cant search a lv x with a professor elm's training method.....i'm confused....

PETM only lets you search for Evolution cards. In order for a pre-DP card to be able to search for LV. X cards, that pre-DP card must be able to search for both Basic Pokemon and Evolution cards, not just one or the other. So something like Great Ball could not find one because it only searches for Basic Pokemon, but Celio's Network can because it can find both Basic Pokemon as well as Evolution cards.

So you CAN'T use PETM to get a Lv. X? But you can use Celios? I'm confused?

What CAN you use to search for a Lv. X (Besides Premier Ball)

Anything that says "Search your deck (discard, ect.) for a basic or evolution card...." allows you to get a lv X. Anything that says "Serach your deck (ect.) for a pokemon card..." allows you to get a lv X. Something that lists getting only a basic pokemon doesn't. Something that lists getting only an evolution card doesn't.

Any Pre-DP cards that say "Serach (deck or discard pile) for a basic, or evolution pokemon" means any pokemon including Lv. X. Mean while if it says "search you (deck or discard pile) for a basic pokemon" or "search you (deck or discard pile) for an evolution pokemon" only search for the stage specified.
