What happens when your pokemon is about to get knocked out by poison but you have nidoqueen in play, which activates first?

Both effects happen at the same time, but there would not be any knockout because all effects at that time are activated and resolved before checking for knockouts.
So it wouldn't matter if it was Poison first (-1 then +1) or Maternal Comfort first (+1 then -1), the end result is the same, because in the case of simultaneous effects, you don't check midway for knockouts.
