If you use a card such as Celio or Elm, can you take a Lv. X from your deck? Or can you only do this with a premier ball?

A LvX is a Pokemon card. To get a LvX, the card needs to say either:
  • search your deck for a "Pokemon" or
  • search your deck for a "Basic Pokemon or Evolution card".
So, Celio can. Elm can't.

Kaga got it right. As usual.

What you need to keep in mind is that a LVX isn't treated as an "Evolution card" or "Basic Pokemon" while in the deck. On the field it is treated the same as the one it came from. Due to the wording on the Ex-Series sets, a card that searches for BOTH of them can get a LVX, one that only gets ONE kind (like Elm) CANNOT get them.

Thanks, but just for clarification, you can get it if it says "Search your deck for a Basic poke or Evolution card," but not "search for a basic poke," or "search for an evolution card."

Wow you guys, we get it. :/
