I was just searching through the Arceus japanese translations, and I noticed this card,
Rapidash LV.41 - Fire - HP80
Stage 1 - Evolves from Ponyta
Poke-Body: Wild Protection
Prevent all effects of attacks, including damage, done to this Pokemon by your opponent’s SP-Pokemon.
[R] Fire Mane: 20 damage.
[R][C][C] Toss Up: 50 damage. Flip a coin, if heads this attack does an additional 20 damage.
Weakness: Water (+20)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1 (It's actually 0, mistype I guess)
Obviously you wouldn't ATTACK with it, but look at its body. Sound like anyone you know? Except, you see, this one isn't an X. It's not shot at by Flygon X, it doesn't have to be active to evolve, AND it has free retreat... Do you think this could become the new big SP-Counter? when it's released? Not to mention look at the normal Ponyta,
Ponyta LV.8 - Fire - HP40
Basic Pokemon
[C] Ascension: Search your deck for an Evolution card that Evolves from Ponyta and play it on top of Ponyta to Evolve it. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[R][C] Flare: 20 damage.
Weakness: Water (+10)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1
Notice it's first attack? If, say, you ever start with it and go first. You could attach an energy and instantly find Rapidash. Boom, you don't have to worry about anyone K.O.ing you. As almost NOTHING can do 80 damage on their first turn. Sure some things can, but not much.
So, as the title asks. Is Rapidash the new Mewtwo X?
