Ruling Re: Premier and Standard Events

I went to check my son's rating and found he had none. He had played in 2 events and went 6 and 2 so I was surprised. Sent an email to POP and they said premier events only are considered now for the ratings and my son must have played in standard events.

I never heard of this before. Apparently premier events are cities and regionals states provincials etc. Also battle road tournaments.

So I am left with some questions;
what is a battle road tournament?
what is a standard tournament?

I've never heard of these things at our league, does anyone know anything about them???

Battle Road Tournaments are a new concept this year. We don't really know yet they will be, but they will probably take place in May and June.
Standard tournaments are your normal, weekly tournaments at league. They don't count for anything this year.
Premier tournaments CAN take place at your league, but they only happen at a certain time each year. Cities are about to begin, States probably in March and April, Regionals in May, Battle Roads in May and June, Nationals in July, and Worlds in August. Those are the premier events.
