Just wondering what you guys thought about Regigigas's (CRI) viability in Standard would look like if you used Garbodor to shut off it's ability. Then maybe another card to power up it's 5 energy 160 damage attack. 190 w/Choice Band.

What are your guys thoughts?

There are easier ways to hit 160 than this. But could be worth some meme potential. Give it a spin with Kiawe and a secondary fire attacker maybe.

Agreed, there are easier ways to set up 160+ damage, although the "w8 wut" factor is certainly there.

I think the only way to play Regigigas now is the control deck that top 8'ed in São Paulo regionals

I played a version on ptcgo for a while...it wasn’t very consistent, but it was super fun! Had an Alolan Muk line to turn off the ability, some heavy balls, turtonator gx and an alolan marowak line to recharge energy

Regigigas works well in a mill deck. High HP for a single prize. Works well with max potions. Too bad it's weak to fighting though. It's hard to face buzzwole or lycanroc.

Power up Guzzlord using first attack, Ninja Boy into Regi.
Regigigas does 160 with 5 energies, and you need 3 regis in the bench. Guzzlord does 180 with 5 energies and has a good GX IF you manage to pull it off.
Again, I don't see the point.

If you read the original post, which you clearly didn't, you would use Garb to shut off the ability for Regi, then the strat, Shay mentioned.

Regigigas does 160, Guzzlord 180 and has a GX attack, and doesn't need the use of the supporter for the turn.
One more time, I don't see the point.
