Regigigas EX

So here is my idea, I know Mewtwo EX is going to be almost impossible to get unless you have a lot of money and can buy it off eBay. But I would like to try out Regigigas. He has a lot of HP, he can hit pretty hard and with an eviolite, even Donphan's 2nd attack won't knock him out. My concern is powering him up. I though of the Eel, Emboar etc. But after seeing all the MTCs I think Celebi Prime would work, heck you could possible do 80 damage turn 1 if you play your cards right. But you would start with Celebi Prime power up a Regi fast, and start attacking. You have Tornadus for concerns of weakness. Shaymin EX for late game comebacks and Shaymin celebration wind to move energy around if needs be. It is an idea on paper, not tested but I like the idea

Pokemon
4 x Celebi
3 x regigigas EX
2 x Tornadus
1 x shaymin ex
1 x shaymin

Trainer/Supporter/Stadium
4 x Pokemon Collector
4 x Eviolite
3 x Pokemon Catcher
3 x Junk Arm
4 x Professor Juniper
4 x Professor Oak's New Theory
4 x Sage's Training
2 x skyarrow bridge
3 x Switch (not sure if I need this)
2 x Revive

Energy
4 x Double Colorless Energy - Special
10 x Grass Energy - Basic
2 x prizm

my new decklist. This seems to be working great. I am still concerned with only 1 regigigas, but it seems to be working just fine

Pokemon
4 x Celebi
2 x regigigas EX
2 x Tornadus
1 x shaymin ex
1 x Corabalion

Trainer/Supporter/Stadium
4 x Pokemon Collector
3 x Eviolite
3 x Pokemon Catcher
3 x Junk Arm
4 x Professor Juniper
4 x Professor Oak's New Theory
3 x Sage's Training
2 x skyarrow bridge
3 x Switch
2 x energy exchange
2 x plus power
1 x superrod

Energy
4 x Double Colorless Energy - Special
9 x Grass Energy - Basic
3 x prizm (needed now for Cobalion)

I don't usually find Sage's necessary in an all basic deck, since it is best used for discarding energy or cards that you want to be discarded and for setting up stage 2s. I also don't find plus power particularly useful since this deck is based on getting damage counters on the pokemon, and after getting a good amount of damage counters you can OHKO the opponent's pokemon, but then they will usually have something to back up to KO Regigigas EX back for 2 prize cards.

Yeah, thats the main trick to this deck. Getting the KO's right so there isn't a revenge KO waiting for you on the bench. Have you though about Shaymin (UL) ?

Could be useful for moving energy from a damaged gigas to a healthy one to avoid being returned KO'd in some situations?

I am trying to play around with Regigigas as well, I got two at my PR so now I wanna build a deck with him :p good luck!

I got 2 Regigigas and a Shaymin EX. I am thinking of placing the Shaymin UL into it. I agree with you. I have play tested this deck with Celebi Prime and I got to say I am impressed with the speed and ability for Regigigas to be a viable attacker

- gigas EX
+ Mewtwo EX
imo

people are teching Terrakion in pretty much every deck to help with Mageel, that makes gigas a huge liability.

Mewtwo EX is next to impossible to get unless you have luck to pull it. I would love to use Mewtwo EX. Not gonna happen though. I am a fan of Regigigas and I have to work with what I can get. I haven't had any problems really with Terrakion or with Donphan etc.

Mew prime would definitely not fit with this deck because the attacking pokemon is a basic and only needs a collector to get. Why mew?

I think using Mewtwo as a Mewtwo counter would be better, as Mewtwo is also a great attacker in general. If you can't at least borrow a M2 EX, Mew is alright, but not without at least 2.

Yeah Mew + Cincinno for 200DMG to mewtwo (if your bench is full)
or Mew + Jumpluff

You would only really need to maybe add 1 more prism?

I believe the biggest reason people play Tornadus is to beat Mew. It does a fantastic job at that because Mew fails to one-shot it every turn.

Onto the topic of Regigigas:
I believe that your Pokemon base and choice is rather strong. The ability to get your Cobalion attacking seems weak and difficult to achieve. Combining Energy Search with Tornadus to feed Metal energy to Cobalion seems to help it attack more often. The main reason why Cobalion seems to be in here is to hinder Terrakion, and the combination of Tornadus and it seems strong against Fighting types. I don't know how you could fix your deck versus Fighting types with Generally-high-damage Pokemon, especially Eelektrik-based decks that plan to use Eelektrik to charge up Terrakion turn after turn.

As for the trainers, I agree that Sage's Training is not the strongest choice as a supporter. It gives you less cards to work with throughout the game, which can be very risky. I would replace them with straight draw or hand refresh. Cheren is effective as a replacement because I believe it is safer. Pokegear is also fantastic to add because it both increases good starting hands and adds consistency throughout the game. Recycle is a strong card to play in this deck because Double Colorless Energy is such an effecrtive card in this deck, and it's great to be able to reuse it. EXs are still prime targets of attack, and since Regigigas is so fat and bulky, denying a prize on it with Super Scoop Up, Seeker, or Max Potion (albeit less effective) is a great tactic. It makes an EX deck seem safer.

Sub Cheren in for sages, Imo. Also, Cobalion is not the best idea, as it will require 2 out of the 3 prism to effectivley attack, so
-1 Cobalion
+ 1 Shaymin UL
And I would run 3 gigas but if 2 works, that's fine.
Hope I helped

I now have 3 gigas. I have not put a shaymin UL into it. Most decks I have found that have fighting are using Terrakion for his 1st attack to do 90 damage after a pokemon has been knocked out. I know that it is still risky, but with 4 catcher now I have a good chance of hurting Terrakion before he becomes a threat to my Gigas. But I also have Shaymin EX to which hits for weakness. I like the pokegear idea. I am thinking if I take out my Sage's I can add in 4 pokegear. I would like to put a Shaymin UL and most likely will

Good, shaymin ul is totally needed in here. Shaymin ex is great, I would play 1 in almost every deck, this included. 3 gigas is perfect.

Also, terrakion cant OHKO gigas if it has an eviolite, though you will wanna catcher him up, as he will annoy the crap out of yourcno eviolite gigas, OHKOing it for 2 prides.
