Can someone explain to me the new regionals schedule? Are there twice as many regionals, one before cities and one after? thanks

Yes, there are 2 Regionals per region; 1 in November, 1 in April. I think VG are also hosted at some of them.

However, there are still the same total number of Regionals per year. There's only around 6 in the USA during the fall and around 6 in the spring, when there used to be 12 at the same time. Expect a LOT of competition if you're going to one. The VG will be hosted at all of them.
