Can i search for a basic Pokemon that now has evolved into a evolution?

I.E if i have a Sceptile in play that has evolved from a Treecko can i then use Repeat Ball to search for another Treecko or can i only search for Sceptile at that point?

You can only search for the 'Top' card in play in an evolution chain. In this case, Sceptile.

You could only search for Treeko if there was an unevolved Treeko in play
