RESEARCH COMPLETE

Hey Everyone,

So my long quest to become teacher has already pit me against a very interesting research question... so I thought, where else to do research than a site where a bunch of people are battling for scholarships? If you have a quick minute, please fill out one of the four following surveys that pertains to your current situation. If you do not want anyone else to see your answers, feel free to PM me. I will not be sharing any information connected to your user name... I will only be using the numbers that I tally strictly for my research. Also, if you want to tell me a little about your school life after the survey, feel free... every bit of research helps. Thank you for your help, Rob.

If you are in Grades K-12 (USA Only)

1. Are you in public or private school?
2. What is your approximate grade average?
3. If you are in private school, what are the consequences for failing grades? (This is a question I do not know the answer to and would like feedback on)

If you are attending/graduated/or dropped out of college (USA Only)
1. Are you still attending?
2. What is/was your overall GPA?
3. Were you on financial aid?
-----> If Yes, answer questions 4, 5, and 6 (if applicable)
-----> If no, please submit survey
4. Roughly how much of your tuition was covered by financial aid?
5. Did you ever receive academic probation?
6. If yes, what was the outcome?

If you've never attended college (USA Only)

1. What was your overall GPA in High School?
2. Why did you not pursue college? (Select all that apply)
  • a. Cannot afford it
  • b. Already had a good job
  • c. I didn't want to
  • d. Family issues
  • e. Other
If you are in a country other than the USA

1. What country are you from?
2. Is college tuition free?
3. What is the overall college success rate in your country?

:EDIT: - I guess to be perfectly fair, I will also take the survey so noone has to feel out of place.
If you are attending/graduated/or dropped out of college (USA Only)

1. Are you still attending?
Yes
2. What is/was your overall GPA?
Three Colleges... 0.6/3.7/3.6
3. Were you on financial aid?
No/Yes/Yes
-----> If Yes, answer questions 4, 5, and 6 (if applicable)
-----> If no, please submit survey
4. Roughly how much of your tuition was covered by financial aid?
0%/100%/50%
5. Did you ever receive academic probation?
Yes
6. If yes, what was the outcome?
If I did not improve on my grades, I would lose my financial aid. I did indeed improve and I am still collecting financial aid.

1. Are you in public or private school?

Public

2. What is your approximate grade average?

3.8 (Even though it's honors, we don't weight grades)

3. If you are in private school, what are the consequences for failing grades? (This is a question I do not know the answer to and would like feedback on)

Even though we're public, we still have consequences, if you get an F in any class you're kicked out.

If you are in Grades K-12 (USA Only)

1. Are you in public or private school? Public... my brother is in private so I'll answer for him also :)
2. What is your approximate grade average?
Me: 4.00 unweighted, 4.80 weighted
Brother: 4.00
3. If you are in private school, what are the consequences for failing grades? (This is a question I do not know the answer to and would like feedback on)
Brother: Get rejected out of school if you have too many failing grades. He goes to a fairly high tier school, so they only want the best students (who can afford it)

Hope that helps :)

I don't go to a private school, but I go to a business school and if you are failing about 2 classes, they pretty much kick you out of the school/send you back to your home school.

K-12
1. Private school.
2. Always been 'round 3.50-3.60. I'm not that interested in my school work. I prefer individual studies, but I'm not really a slacker in school. I should probably take my studies more seriously.
3. I don't know exactly what would happen if you failed a grade, never seen it happen at my school. I'm positive that you would be asked to leave, however.

By the way, good luck at becoming a teacher. I have respect for teachers, teaching is a noble profession. I wish my teachers liked pokemon. That's pretty funny. Imagine if you figure out your teacher is into pokemon and a brony (not that your one, it would just be hilarious).
