{R}{C}{D} - "Fire Draw" (My first good deck) *not a true Reshiboar*

Prologue: Just a little about me.
The release of Black & White has once again put Pokemon back into my life.
> I am a TCG noob <
I started playing with the Samurott and Emboar theme decks about 2 months ago when they first arrived here in Alaska. At first I was just learning with a friend of mine, but now I play at the local League every week.

Since then I've learned that the new BW expansion of cards seems weak when battling kids with older cards. While I have a tiny card budget, I did gather up some old Trainers through trades and comic shops.

With that said, the following deck is the strongest build I've been able to craft thus far, though I'm still losing nearly 50-50.

Pokemon
1 x Reshiram - BW-113
1 x Emboar - BW-20
1 x Emboar - BW-19
3 x Pignite - BW-17
1 x Tepig - BW-15
1 x Tepig - PR-BW07
2 x Stoutland - BW-83
2 x Herdier - BW-82
1 x Lillipup - BW-81
1 x Lillipup - BW-80
2 x Zoroark - BW-71
2 x Zorua - BW-70
1 x Zekrom - PR-BW05

Supporter / Trainer
3 x Roseanne's Research - -125
1 x Scott - -81
1 x Bebe's Search - RR-89
2 x Professor Elm's Training Method - HS-100
1 x Professor Oak's New Theory - HS-101
1 x Island Hermit - DF-76
1 x Flower Shop Lady - UD-74
3 x Energy Retrieval - BW-92
1 x Energy Search - BW-93
1 x Night Maintenance - -113
2 x Switch - BW-104
1 x Revive - BW-102
2 x Potion - BW-100
1 x Gust of Wind - BS-93

Energy
13 x Fire Energy - Basic
4 x Lightning Energy - Basic
1 x Darkness Energy - Basic
1 x Double Colorless Energy - Special - BS-96
1 x Rescue Energy - Special - TM-90

Strategy:
Besides deck-building, just running a deck is a challenge at this stage for me.

Reshiram is my main attacker, though I use Zekrom, Stoutland, and Emboar (Flare Blitz) as well after I lose Reshiram, or if I encounter a type weakness. I have found it better to let him KO active and reviving it, rather than retreating to my bench to save it.

I use Emboar (Inferno Fandango) to move energy to my pokemon as quickly as possible while using trainers, especially Roseanne's Research (my main Supporter) to gather fire energy from my deck / discard pile.

If the opponent is slow to set up, it's safe to do so, or I'm in trouble, I'll put Lillipup line active to help my draw cards, or grab cards from my discard pile (Stoutland can grab up to 3 with coin flips and I'll use him to get energy, trainers, or revive pokemons. I've found him to be very useful.)
Zoroark's (Nasty Plot) let's me grab any one card from my deck, which I've included a single dark energy to use. This move has saved me more than once and I often spam it while setting up my bench. Also, Zoroark's (Foul Play) is a great counter against strong pokemon.

Seeking Advice:
*Please keep in mind that I have very little cards, and that most of them are from BW expansion. If you know of any amazing cards that I MUST have, then please mention those after and I will try to trade in person, or get them online. Thx!

> I admit, the deck is still somewhat slow, though I haven't been able to build a quick deck at all using what little cards I have.

> I have thought about removing 2 cards to up my Switch count to 4, as I find myself retreating too often.

> When reading decklists online, I notice that most players use less energy than us noobs. Why is that?

I appreciate your thoughtful wisdom!

This deck may be a mess but, my strategy is getting better.

Placed 2nd of about 12 at the local PokeLeague round robin point Tourny!

6 free boosters was the prize! :D
