StrategyEnergy accelerate Fire Energy with Inferno Fandango to Reshiram, hitting EXs for 150 energy. Victini for hitting VirGen with OHKOs, and Sigilypth to wall EXs. Ultra Balls and Superior Energy Retrievals provide tons of energy recycling for a great flow of energy. All advice is welcome. :)

RE: Help me with my Fire/Psychic deck!

I don't see much focus on this deck. It's like its trying to be Plasma, but trying to be something else at the same time. I see one thing that could be done to it...

Pokemon: 18
  • 4-1-3 Charizard (LT)
  • 3x Victini EX (PLS)
  • 3x Lugia EX (PLS)
  • 2-2 Dusknoir (BCR)

Trainers: 30
  • 4x Professor Juniper
  • 4x N
  • 2x Skyla
  • 1x Colress
  • 2x Level Ball
  • 4x Ultra Ball
  • 3x Rare Candy
  • 1x Computer Search
  • 2x Silver Bangle
  • 2x Float Stone
  • 2x Switch
  • 3x Colress Machine

Energy: 12
  • 4x Plasma Energy
  • 8x Fire Energy

I kind of overhauled the deck some :p. It is still kind of clunky in ways, but off the top of my head this is what I got. I wanted to keep some idea of what you wanted to do with the deck, but simplify it and make it focused. Now, the strategy for this is that you want Victini EX first turn if at all possible, then power up Charmander and/or Lugia EX. Next turn you will want to Rare Candy into Charizard if you can do so, then get Charizard to use Split Bomb on targets to spread damage around. Then you will want to use Lugia to get knockouts so you can get prizes fast. Dusknoir in this deck is very ideal because you can manipulate the damage you do with Split Bomb or any other attack to set up for knockouts from pretty much anywhere, from your opponent's Active spot to their Bench. It also acts like a Pokemon Catcher in that same regard.

One card that can get into this deck's skin is Mr. Mime, because of its ability to block all damage to the opponent's Bench. You will want to deal with it as fast as you can so you don't get stalled too long. I hope I helped you out some and good luck with the deck!

RE: Victini/Charizard deck help!

Thanks for the advice! Hehe, yeah, you did overhaul it quite a bit, but Dusknoir is something that I've never thought about before, so I will definitely keep that and everything you mentioned in mind.

Here's how I would play it. It's straight to the point Victini/Charizard. Charizard does 150 damage + 30 from Silver Bangle to OHKO EX's, which is a bit easier to get out than Virbank Laser. I took out all of the Plasma stuff because that should really be its own deck; it doesn't fit well. I'm not sure why you didn't have Double Colorless in here since Charizard's attack cost calls for four colorless Energies, but you do now. Hope this works for you.

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

Yeah...DCEs should have been there >_>. Dunno why I never thought about those in here.

I actually assumed they were in there, and almost missed them as well :O

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

I'll have to try that list out! A lot more straight to the point like you said.

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

Question, would Inferno Fandango Emboar work well in this deck? I've really wanted to take advantage of it because of the relative lack of energy acceleration that Fire types currently have (other than Victini EX), but even a 2-1-2 line would take up quite a bit of space, and I'm not sure if I need any more energy acceleration after Victini. Thoughts?

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

Two Stage 2's is considered taboo, but there's no harm in trying it out. It'll be difficult to get set up, but if you managed it, you would be a lot better off than with Victini. With Victini, there's no way you'll be attacking on turn two. If you do go with Emboar, I would probably take out Victini.

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

i would put
+4blend GFDP +1 tropius
+2 entei ex +1 ultra ball
-4 fire energy -2 level ball -2 victini ex
tropius: Unlike rayboar deck, you only have fire type pokemons so facing Blastoise would be your downfall
entei: is not only a support, also a decent attacker
ultra ball : charmander should not be underestimated
if you start with charmander and ultra ball, discard 2 energy for the ball ,then you use "draw in" so you can make a t2 scorching fire, if the next turn, you attach a DCE to charizard

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

I like both of those ideas. Currently I'm putting together a near exact replicate of Mora's deck list, but there's always room for change.

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

So I'm in a bit of a predicament right now. I really want to add Dusknoir for some easy sniping, but holy crap, a single Dusknoir holo is $15 right now. 0_0 Not just that, but I'm also trying to figure out whether or not I should use Emboar, because I don't think it's a good idea to use THREE Stage 2 Lines. xD

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

I would scrap the idea of Charizard. 5 Fire energies for only 150? Why not run a regular Reshiram? Its 120 for 3 energies and you dont have to evolve it. Plus if you put a silver bangle on it, you have an easy 150 each time without struggling to setup more than one.

Plus, Reshiram comes in gold, Full Art, and 3 regular prints, so the choice is obvious

also, you cant run 9 plasma energies in your deck. They are special energies and you can only run 4 of one type of special energy (you can run unlimited basic)
Lugia EX.& Deoxys also take it out, you dont need plasma in the mix (you'll have too many strats going on at once)

Add an Emboar line (Inferno Fandango) in place where Charizard is, Keep Victini if you want additional acceleration, and you can make a really strong fire deck with Reshiram at the front line.

RE: Victini / Charizard deck help!

Why am I only hearing this from you now. V_V That's a great idea. And I was only a few cards away from my deck being complete, too. The reason I was using Charizard was because of the sniping with Split Bomb, and the Bangle'd Malevolent Fire, while hard to set up, was very promising. But, that idea of Reshiram is very nice... I think I might just have to do that. Thanks for the help.

Edit: I literally just went straight onto eBay and ordered 4x Full Art Reshirams from the Radiant Collection for $13... You could say that I'm rather excitable.
