OK... so Reshiphlosion used to be a great deck. Now it lacks the speed/firepower of ZekEel or CMT. It still could, with a little luck, make a decent BR showing.

Here is the list I currently have...

List updated 5/5/12

Pokemon – 17
3 Cyndaquil HS
2 Quilava HS
3 Typhlosion Prime HS
3 Reshiram BW
2 Mewtwo EX ND
1 Tornadus EPO
1 Tornadus EX DE
1 Cleffa HS
1 Shaymin UL

Trainers – 31
4 N
4 Professor Juniper
3 Sage’s Training
3 Pokemon Collector
1 Professor Oak’s New Theory

4 Junk Arm
3 Pokemon Catcher
3 Rare Candy
2 Ultra ball
1 Eviolite
1 Pokemon Communication
1 Switch
1 Dual Ball

Energy – 12
10 Fire
2 Double Colorless

The strategy is to get fire energy into the discard pile then use Typhlosion's Power to attach it to big hitters.

Any advice or tweaking ideas would be appreciated!

Thank you.

Here's my advice:

Reshiphlosion lacks the insane speed of the other decks, and can't come back from having its Typhlosions knocked out the same way that ZekEels can when Eelektrik get KOed. If you're trying to make a deck as a PokeDad (which is my first guess), I suggest Zoroark. 2 theme decks will give you pretty much all the cards you need for it other than 2 Weavile UD and a few other random cards.

However, if you're set on Reshiphlosion, it's not the worst deck in the format.

Anyways, on to the real reason you're probably reading this post. I don't agree with Pokemon Collector and 1 Dual Ball. I think the deck would be better if you just used 3-4 Dual Ball instead of Pokemon Collector. You already have Ultra Ball (and even Pokemon Communication) for the late game when you need to get something, so you won't really need a Basic search then. Either way, just choose Collector or Dual Ball as your Basic search engine. The best way to choose, I think, is to test both.

Also, a Revive could be huge in this deck. It would let you keep up with a Mewtwo war, provide another Cyndaquil if it gets knocked out early, or help you get one of the 3 "one-ofs" you play in your deck that you might need at some point. If you do go with 3 Dual Ball instead of 3 Collector + 1 Dual, there would be a spot for Revive. If not, maybe you could dump the single Dual Ball for it, or the Communication because you already have Ultra Ball.

Hi ESP - Thank you for your thoughts!

I have 12 decks proxied for play-testing against our "real" tournament decks. I like to have a decent variety and when I saw Reshiphlosion sitting there, it looked like it could use an upgrade.

Ah, I get it now. Well, it looks like you did a pretty good upgrade lol. The only real concerns were listed above. The Collector vs. Dual Ball is the biggest one though, and I really think that Dual Ball as the engine would give it more speed, allowing you to use your supporter for the turn for draw instead of set up.

-1 Tornadus (Not really needed. your deck has no fighting weakness)
-1 Tornadus EX
-1 Dual Ball (No reason to run only 1)

+1 Eviolite (To protect your Reshirams)
+1 Switch

Hope this helped. :)
