the rules said you can only retreat once every turn.

but what if u play trainers

1) u play Switch twice

2) u play trainers to switch, and then retreat(example i have floatzel that is poison.i play switch to return it to bench.and then i put goldeen.then i retreat goldeen and play floatzex again.

so how?

Trainers aren't retreating. Retreating specifically refers to you discarding Energy from the Pokemon and switching it. If cards or Powers that you can use tell you to switch, you obey the cards.

Fine. (In fact, I've lost many games to this tactic.)

That's fine also. Just as long as you only retreat once per turn.

okay now

if i have Mantine MT-its pokepower lets u r water pokmn retreat with 2 colorless less(u get the idea)so my water pokemon is in condition that i can retreat as many times because my retreat cost is now free.but can i really retreat a lot of times.

Yes. As long as you retreat with out the help of a trainer card or poke-power it wil use up the one retreat per turn.

Umm no. Retreating is still retreating regardless of how many you have to spend for the retreat cost.

QFT.

If you pay the cost and switch, that's your retreat for that turn -- even if the cost is zero. If something else tells you to switch, it's not.
