RSE/FRLG Rhyhorn VS. Geodude

Hiya, guys. I've currently been playing through Leaf Green on my DS Lite, which means I can't trade(because I can't rely on my GBA). Now, I'm raising a Geodude so far (I'm currently at the 2nd Gym), but I can only get a Graveler(no Golem:() since I can't trade. Here's the thing: should I ditch my Graveler for a Rhyhorn when I get to the Safari Zone, or should I stick with Graveler all the way through the game?
 
Ditch it for Rhyhorn. Since you don't have access to Golem, your Graveler will be severely limited, but even so, Rhydon has such amazing base stats anyway that he'd outperform Golem regardless. They both have the same weaknesses, so why not go for the cool rhino?
 
I personally like Graveler more
Rhydon has better stats,though.
I would keep Geodude I don't like ditching my pokemon
 
Yeah Rhyhorn exceeds in its three main stats, Graveler is only good to a certain extent. Once Rhyhorn reaches 42, it becomes an incredible physical wall and very strong physical attacks too.
 
Thanks for the help guys! I will be ditching my Graveler at the Safari Zone later. I don't think this thread needs to be open anymore, so any mod can close it now.
 
If you could borrow a GBA From a friend you could do that, but if not, go with Rhydon / Rhyhorn
 
The thing is, I actually have 2 GBAs: it's just that my Wireless Links(not Adapters), are broken, and I only have 1 Wireless Adapter(I lost the other one..
 
If you were to borrow one from a friend (Or borrow a link cable), I'd say go with golem/
 
...I frankly still think that Rhydon is better than Golem; its base Attack and Defense stats are both astronomically high. Like Metagross high.
 
Not really, no. Rhydon's movepool is a lot like Nidoking's - quite large. (Heck, he can learn Surf if he wants to.)
 
TBH, I can't see why Smogon put Rhyhorn in Low Tier. So far, it's an amazing Pokemon to raise (if you teach it Rock Slide/Dig, you can sweep through most Pokemon).
 
It is only because of its abysmal Sp. Def and Speed stats, and its terrible weaknesses to Water and Ice, both of which are fairly common.
In-game, however? He's awesome.
 
I believe that Rhyhorn has a better stat. If you compare the Atk, Def, Speed, Etc. after you raise it, it should come out very good.
 
Rhydon's base stats: 105/130/120/45/45/40
Golem's base stats: 80/110/130/55/65/45

Considering Rhydon gets access to Double-Edge and Rock Head, I think Rhydon just won.
 
I've just beat the pokemon league with my super powered Lv. 48s (including Rhydon). Unfortunately, it had Lightningrod instead of Rock Head. :(
