Imagine you are on a island that has landmines on every inch of the ground, and the ocean that is full of radioactive sludge and mutant man eating sharks. There is no way to escape from this island/ocean. How do you get off of this island/ocean?
The obvious answer: You jump off the island.

Here's one:
Are there any places where you could walk one mile south, one mile east, then one mile north, and end up where you started? If so, list them.

The obvious answer: You jump off the island.

First of all, your answer was wrong. You stop imagining.

And to answer your riddle, the earth? (No matter how many miles you walk you'll still be on it)

If you jump off the island, then you're off the island. That's common sense.

Secondly, you can't just start anywhere on earth and end up back where you started after those directions.

I mean that you are still on the earth. You started on the earth and ended on it.

Also, we'll see who was right when ditto_rules comes back.

No, we're definitely right. It may not be the answer to the riddle, but we're right.

And you obviously know what I mean where I say "ended where you started from." Did you start from the Earth? Of course you didn't.

here's a pretty easy one

With thieves I consort, With the vilest, in short, I'm quite at ease in depravity; Yet all divines use me, And savants can't lose me, For I am the center of gravity

no one answered my question: if 2 is a company and 3 is a crowd what are 4 and 5?

Here's a really hard one

- In a street there are five houses, painted five different colors.

- In each house lives a person of different nationality.

- These five homeowners each drink a different kind of beverage, smoke different brand of cigar and keep a different pet.

Who owns the fish?

Necessary clues:

1. The British man lives in a red house.
2. The Swedish man keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Danish man drinks tea.
4. The Green house is next to, and on the left of the White house.
5. The owner of the Green house drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the Yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the center house drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The man who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The Blends smoker lives next to the one who drinks water.
Because I spent 20 minutes trying to figure it out, the "other" answer is that nobody owns the fish. :p

I said this one earlier in the thread! No one answered it!

nope. You guys are both wrong

How'd I get it wrong? You mentioned only 4 animals and never stated that the 5th animal is a fish. My answer is legit.

I actually love those kinds of brain teasers, mariomaniac. I'd have to spend a couple minutes working it out on good ole' pen and paper, but obviously the last animal is a fish, Foxtrot. It's implied, silly. ;p

dmaster out.

Daring hunter and adventurer bacon was walking around when he noticed some bear tracks. He followed the bear tracks on his ATV forty miles straight south, then sixty miles straight west, and then forty miles straight north, before he realized that he had ended up at the same place he'd started.

What color was the bear bacon was chasing?

edit: yeah I didn't notice somebody posted a similar riddle before this.

Ugh ;(
