So if you've read my last report, you already know all this good stuff. I can only play Dialga at the BR because it is literally the only deck I _know_ how to play. This was going to be awesome. One of our last BR to Phoenix for who knows how long with our good friend Decker. So we planned on definitely making this 100% worth it. I woke up at 6 (!!!) and left at 6:30 to pick up Decker. My Mom dropped us off at the Circle K at 8 and Rod was there to meet us up and drive us to the BR. Hotdog for sustenance and away we go! We make hella good time and get there at around 9:30 and kill some time by going to Denny's for some amazingly cheap breakfast food while Rod changes his sleeves of his deck. Then we're off back to the BR location a couple minutes before Registration started and a whole ton of people is there. We fill out our decklists and wait to opt out of deck checks. The pairings soon go up after Sander (also borrowing one of my Luxray GL Lv.X) and then Radar get close shaves showing up to the BR.

Round 1: Matt H vs. Decker R
Dialga/Chomp vs. Luxchomp

I have a severe sadface at this. First Round and we're already facing each other, starting one of us with a 0-1 start. Oh well, we make the most of it and have a lot of fun at the start just chatting it up. I also had Rod sit on the left side of me so I could see him as well. I start with Promocroak and he starts with Luxray. I must not have shuffled quite so well because I have the Psychic and the Gain in my starting hand. I don't really have a whole lot to do, but thankfully I go second and he starts with Call. I know he plays a Blaziken tech for Metal decks (like Dialga), so that is a priority as well. I start to go setup and swing for 40 on Luxray. This match was overall pretty sketchy (also considering I didn't write anything down the whole day XD), but I remember parts. I quickly take out his Blaziken and he eventually Aaron's it back. He Luring Flames at one point but I have the Warp Energy (and quite a lot of other Energies the whole game). He Levels up Uxie Lv.X and takes a prize from Zen Blade. He also Trade Offs for a ton each turn, but I only have one sole Power Spray that I wanted to save for Luxray GL Lv.X (having already used one before as well) so he couldn't take a cheap Prize from something off the Bench. I had three Prizes left to his Four, and it eventually came down to Time on his turn. .-. God, do I hate time. He sees that I have Promocroak for anything once he kills me and knows he can't win in the Prize Exchange after potentially Jet Shooting my Dialga G Lv.X so he scoops.

Record: 1-0

I hate winning matches like that against friends first Round. :[

Round 2: Matt H vs. Chris O
Dialga/Chomp vs. Tyranitar/Spiritomb/Vileplume

So I wasn't too surprised he didn't bring his Theme Deck this time having donked me with Roselia vs. Unown Q at a BR before. XD He was playing a pretty interesting and creative build of Tyranitar Prime however. I knew I was going to be in trouble, just taking Dialga's matchup against normal Tyranitar. I would need Expert Belt doing 100 with Remove Lost, hitting a lot of Heads with Heals ready each turn, and the deck just does not do that fast enough. I start with a Dialga and a couple Energy that I can get 3 Metals (2 Special Metals ) on Dialga with a Belt. He brings up Tyranitar and Megaton Tails for the KO. :[ That was pretty much all I had left in my hand other than a few more Pokemon. I sacrifice Bronzong G, Crobat G, Dragonite FB, and others to try to set up another Dialga but it just is not enough with Vileplume locking me out of Trainers and Megaton Tail doing like over 9000 damage. I also misplay after taking a Prize from Spiritomb by taking Crobat G instead of a PONT. Oh well.

Record: 1-1

So after that Round was Lunch Break. Everyone else was going to Burger King and knew that it would take virtually forever for food, so we opt for Chinese Food as well. The huge bowl kicked my butt but I did like the food. Hopefully it would be good enough to win my next three matches..? XD

Round 3: Matt H vs. Joseph N
Dialga/Chomp vs. Kingdra Prime/Crobat Prime

I start with Dialga again going for a quick Deafen (with a Gain) to stop him from setting up too fast with a Horsea and a Zubat on the field. He eventually Collectors and gets an Uxie which I promptly Spray. He started to draw the cards real fast after playing Uxie but I said that it was fine to not put the cards elsewhere in the deck. I then Second Strike and Remove Lost for Prize after Prize. He gets Crobat Prime up at one point and Poisons me. I have Warp and I Claw Swipe with my Belted Garchomp C. That sets it up for an easy Remove Lost for the rest of the game.

Record: 2-1

Round 4: Matt H vs. Sam S.
Dialga/Chomp vs. Charizard/Ninetails/Blaziken FB Lv.X/ERL

Ok so this was definitely a creative Charizard build which I fully commend. Mainly because I'm so used to Charizard/Ninetails/Typhlosion beating me. XDDDD I knew I would be in some serious doo doo when I start with Dialga G and he starts with Blaziken FB, Charmander, and Vulpix however. Thankfully, I can get the early Deafen off, preventing Gain from being played. I Power Spray an Uxie Set Up for 6 at one point, definitely buying me some turns. I immediately go for Dragonite in the early turns trying to set it up after Blaziken FB Luring Flamed my Garchomp C and I had no way of Retreating it (thus subsequently killing it). I didn't play down Azelf LA to get my second Garchomp C prized (well Idk why I really didn't play it down lol). I instead played down Promocroak (absolutely useless vs. Charizard). I guess I was fearing the ERL at one point...I Power Spray Ninetails a couple times and a couple times he gets it pulled off and I think another Set Up. I have my Gained Dialga doing some work against his Charizard. Thankfully, with the Body lock, it only did about 60 after Weakness. I could Remove Lost to 2HKO a Belted Charizard. Another one comes up and he has two Energy on it. By that time, I finally set up a Belted Dialga doing 100 and I flip two Heads on Remove Lost (while he got none of SSU during the game :[) I then make a good play by Flash Biting and Deafening for the KO. Later in the game, I have one Prize left to his four and he draws all the cards in his deck with two Ninetails. Eventually, he must use Blaziken FB Lv.X to Jet Shoot my Belted Dialga for two prizes and I have Dragonite with two Energies on him and a third in hand to Mach Blow for the game.

Record: 3-1

So the next match would probably determine whether I make Top 4 Cut.

Round 5: Matt H vs. Richard D
Dialga/Chomp vs. Dialga/Chomp

Ahh, Rod. :[[[[[ I was very much sadface at this and he looked like he was about to literally fall over after winning his Round 4 match in a super close Sudden Death match. This would not be enjoyable for the both of us, but we both knew it would probably happen sometime during the day. I start off again with Dialga to his Azelf and he is about ready to call the match in my favor. He says he started with about four Energies as well. I wasn't quite sure I had the match. I had a Psychic and a Warp in hand (terrible Energies) and I couldn't even pull off a Deafen. I Belt the Dialga and he starts to set up while all I need is a Metal Energy. I get a PONT and get no Metal Energy, just a Energy Exchanger (and no other Energies as well _-_). I PONT again and get no Energies, just a Power Spray. >_> He starts getting the Cyrus chain going with a Belted Dialga on the Bench and loaded up with about three Special Metals. I finally get a Metal from a Cyrus from the PONT, although by this amount of time it is so far over. He has a Garchomp C with a Gain and an Energy and he sets up a Dragonite as well. I find that two of my Basic Metals are in the Prizes. I kill the Azelf (finally) and he brings up his Dialga monster and just OM NOM NOMS on mine with three Heads in a row from Remove Lost. Basic Metal, some other Energy and a DCE. That pretty much spells out gg. I continue playing by responding with Toxicroak but he Warps and attempts to heal the damage which I promptly spray. He KOs the Promocroak with Remove Lost and gets ANOTHER HEADS WAITWTFWAFFLES. So there goes my Psychic Energy. I also misplay at one point putting down Dialga G on the Bench when I already had one on the Bench, forcing me to use my last Poke Turn. In the end, the Poke Turn didn't matter a whole lot though. All I really have left is Dragonite FB. Time is called and all I can do is hit it for some damage while he decimates me for the game.

Record: 3-2

It's really quite a shame about the whiff of Energy because we've had some really amazing games in the past. This one was definitely not one of them for either of us. Look out for that rematch! I fully expect him to make Top Cut with a 4-1 Record but when the Standings were put up he got 5th. WAITWTFWAFFLES It turned out he got the 5th Place with a 4-1 Record with nobody else going 4-1. Really a raw deal there, especially with him starting to get his deck ready. _-_ So we're all shocked at this and decide to head out. We couldn't stay for Sander's Top Cut matches but he ended up getting 2nd somehow miraculously beating Gyarados after a 5 Prize deficit. Seriously, you're like a Pokemon God or something so be proud even though you didn't win.

Props:

Nice job Dmaster!
Do you think Promocroak will still be needed in the deck during Cities?

Depends on the popularity of Luxray...It definitely won't be that great against Gengar.

Yeah I made props! The only reason I came back was because of ERL, like my favorite card ever.

Dude, that game looked absolutely unbelievable to win. A Belted Gyarados doing 110 literally wiping out everything with a Blissey Prime ready and one Prize left. You have to see from our perspective how crazy it was to win. ._.
