I just started getting back into Pokemon TCG competitively after a 7-year break and wanted some opinions on a deck I've been working on. It might not be the best deck out there but I'm hoping I can turn it into something viable with the right help.

The deck contains the following -

Pokemon - 19
  • 4 Grookey
  • 2 Thwacky
  • 4 Rillaboom
  • 2 Gossifleur (Mainly in there for Call for Family)
  • 2 Rowlet&Alolan Exeggutor Tag Team GX
  • 1 Venusaur&Snivy GX
(Just added these so still testing these additions)
  • 2 Cramorant V
  • 1 Snorlax V
  • 1 Snorlax VMax
Trainers - 24
  • 4 Air Balloons
  • 4 Marnie
  • 2 Tate & Liza
  • 4 Rare Candy
  • 4 Pokemon Catcher
  • 2 Chaotic Swell
  • 4 Ordinary Rod
Energy - 17
  • 17 Grass Energy

Any criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Hello dash38353535,

This is a pretty solid decklist, but I will still give some pointers.

Rowlet & Alolan Exeggutor's "Super Growth" is currently the only way to search out evolution cards in your deck, and since it forces you to use Stage 1s and Stage 2s, I would keep a 4-4-4 line of Rillaboom and remove two Rare Candies.

If you don't want to go that route, I would recommend at least two Evolution Incense or two Turfield Stadium (maybe take away 2 Pokemon Catcher for them, as you have Tate & Liza for a guaranteed chance of switching your opponent's Pokemon, not just a coin flip).

If you want Snorlax VMAX out when you need him most, you'll most likely want to buff his line to 2-2 or 2-1. Right now, if it or its V counterpart is prized, then that means no Snorlax VMAX (at least for most of the game).

If your Gossifleur is not in play at the start of the game, then it become a 1HKO in the active spot if you use "Call for Family" to search for basic Pokemon. I think a Quick Ball or two in trade for another trainer card would work wonders when finding Basics mid-game.

Overall, it is a good deck, just with some slight Pokemon search issues. You don't need to take my advice, but I think it would make your deck a little less clunky and a little more consistent.
