XY OU
Hundred Round Clip by Uralya
Team type: VoltTurn Offense
Preview:
Uralya utilizes a solid VoltTurn core that employs Staraptor, Talonflame and Genesect to rack up damage before attempting a late-game cleaning. The team also has a robust defensive backbone, and Latias wraps the package up nicely with its great support options. A slight variation of this team was piloted by PG24 to win the first PB XY OU tournament.

Over 9000: TFS Style - OR - Vegetasaur: Rise of the Saiyan Elite by iSharingan
Team type: Stall
Preview:
iSharingan thinks quite outside the box by playing this surprisingly tough and very annoying Stall team. Using status and hazards, it stalls out Venusaur's and Togekiss' counters to allow the aforementioned a free reign of terror with paraflinching or Curse sweeping. The team's greatest advantage is the great synergy between its members, leaving almost no openings for opponents to exploit.

The Antithesis by Equinox
Team type: Stall
Preview:
This is a classic Stall team constructed by Equinox, with the additional twists of Curse Mega Venusaur and Stored Power Clefable. The team racks up hazard and status damage while holding its ground against setup sweepers, all the time waiting for the right opportunity to bring in the setup walls for an unexpected sweep.

Metal Massacre by Chaos Jackal
Team type: Balanced
Preview:
This team borrows successful attributes of other teams to create another such, revolving around the duo of Pinsir and Kyurem-B, with Volcarona appearing as an additional sweeper. Landorus-T and Rotom-W provide a mobile core of bulky attackers to provide opportunities for the sweepers, and Latias plays a support role much as she did in Uralya's team. The team possesses a solid combination of bulk and raw power that allow it to handle the metagame well.

Code Chaos: Jackal of the Aftermath by Chaos Jackal
Team type: Heavy Offense
Preview:
A very potent hyper offensive team indeed, Jackal once again demonstrates the monstrosity that is Pinsir. Aegislash and Thundurus-I combine as threatening offensive support for it and handle both slower and faster teams very well. The dragon duo of Latios and Garchomp aid the strategy as offensive hazard control and additional attackers, and Heatran provides a strong backup to patch the team together.

Fortissimus Unus by Professor Palutena, Uralya, and One Approved
Team type: Standard Offense
Preview:
Fortissimus Unus was a very good Standard Offense team built off of offensive Latias and Scarf Garchomp. The team has a good amount of power, as well as several resistances and immunities that the team relies on. Though there might be a lack of overall bulk, this happens quite often on offensive teams, and the type synergy makes this a lot easier to deal with.

Professor Palutena gives us a great example of what a balanced team should look like. It has great offensive power in Heatran and Starmie, as well as a decent defensive backbone in Ferrothorn and Slowbro. Both Pokémon can use their type synergy to easily pivot to and from the offensive Pokémon, all while racking up hazard damage for Salamence to clean up with.

Preview: [sprite]450[/sprite][sprite]485[/sprite][sprite]227[/sprite][sprite]407[/sprite][sprite]593[/sprite][sprite]149[/sprite]
Guts used the combination of type synergy, entry hazards, and the egregiously annoying Sub/Dragon Tail Dragonite to wear teams down over a long period of time. The team forces a lot of switches, and with hazards up, this proves to be especially painful. Guts does a great job here of building a stall team in a metagame where Stall was supposed to be unplayable.

PDC's team utilizes hazards and weather set up by Skarmory and Tyranitar to damage foes as they switch in, and the power provided by Garchomp and Reuniclus after they set up will punch massive holes in teams. The team also has a significant amount of bulk, which enables it to tank hits, and use the time to set up and raise its power to its maximum potential.

Arabian Nights by PG24
Team type: Heavy Offense
Team Preview:
PG24 uses heavy hitters to overpower his opponents with this team. Gothitelle plays a big part too as it can trap and remove Pokémon that would otherwise wall his sweepers. There are also several offensive checks and even counters to the popular Rain, Sand, and Sun teams, so Arabian Nights is very-well equipped for the meta, and PG24 does a brilliant job with this RMT.

This balanced team was good enough to peak even when the metagame was extremely unstable.

Flood is a great example of how standard offense works in UU. It doesn't have a hard counter to everything, but instead provides several offensive checks, and there's almost always offensive pressure being placed on the opposing team. In addition, there are a couple of ways to break through stall, as well as a good initial amount of power even without setup.

Kevin and August use Smeargle to set up as many hazards as they can, and then heavy hitters try to break down the opposing team. Salamence is a great mixed attacker that will break down walls even with very little hazard support, and SD Lucario and CB Scizor are going to repeatedly force in and rack up damage on physical walls. Eventually, the hazard damage and repeated attacks will add up, thus leaving you space for victory.
