hello. me and some friends are always on the fence about rock guard tool card and its effects.

["if the pokemon this card is attached to is your active pokemon and is damaged by an opponents attack, even if that pokemon is knocked out, put 6 damage counters on the attacking pokemon"]
i have two scenarios where questions are up in the air. Greatly appreciated for any help. Thanks.

1) If the defending pokemon has rock guard tool on and i have a mewtwo-EX (breakthrough) and i use Damage Swap attack ["switch all damage counters on this pokemon with those on your opponents active pokemon"]. does mewtwo-ex get hit with 6 damage counters from the rock guard after?

2) If defending pokemon has rock guard tool on and i use Gengar-EX's Night Attack ["put 3 damage counters on 1 of your opponents pokemon"] does gengar-ex get hit with the rock guards 6 damage effect afterwards?

Receiving damage counters directly does not trigger Rock Guard. Night Attack and Damage Exchange would not trigger it.
