Hi everyone!

I've posted this on a few other forums already and would like it to my first official post here. It's been doing quite well and hopefully it'll be popular here.

Anywho, I've already done up to Chapter 07 (which is a Special, they'll feature throughout too) on the other forums, but I won't be posting like all 7 all at once so don't worry :)

I'll start with the Prologue and will post Chapter 01 tomorrow.

Chapter 00 ~ Family

My sister was always the best at everything. Always. When I first starting walking, she starting talking, which was more interesting than walking. When I got my pet Ralts, she caught a Budew, which was obviously cuter as it was a baby. When I left to challenge the Hoenn Elite Four, she left to compete in the Johto Grand Festival, which was so much more spectacular that simple battling.
But, to be fair, I understood why my parents favoured her - she was oldest and didn’t want to pay too much attention to me and leave her left out. Their plan didn’t work out so well seeing since I was the one who was left out!
It all changed though once the Hoenn Elite Four accepted my challenge and she was knocked out of the Johto Grand Festival in the final round, hehe! Sorry, shouldn’t laugh at her misfortune…hehe…
Anyways, she went back home and I carried on with my six Pokémon - Pichu, Shellos, Gardevoir, Zooka, Politoed and Tangela - to Evergrande City where I was to challenge the Hoenn Elite Four.
The Hoenn Elite four consisted of four members (surprise, surprise) and a champion. You had to beat one to go onto the next one and beat him or her to fight the third and you get the idea. The members were:
Harmony McBride - she preferred Dark types but didn’t really specify in a particular type.
Frank Flowers - a camp Grass trainer who attempts to manipulate his foes.
Stella Stone - daughter of a former Champion, specialises in Steel types.
Juan Arits III - a posh dude who fights with the illusions of Water types.
They were said to be like family - all of them lived together in Evergrande Mansion, waiting for challengers to challenge them. I wished my family had been that close. As soon as we could, Mimi and I were out the door, going in separate directions, aiming for different goals, dreaming different dreams. Although Mimi and I did not travel together, we kept in regular contact and met up whenever we could. We agreed to travel the Battle Frontier together after I defeat the Hoenn Elite Four. To be honest, I wasn’t sure I wanted to travel with her.
When I first reached Slateport City, I took the ferry to Olivine and spent a week with her. That was bad enough. To travel with her for months, maybe even several years. I wasn’t too sure how happy I was about this. Plus, I was so much more used to travelling alone.

Chapter 01 ~ Harmony Of Darkness will be posted tomorrow.

Hope you all enjoyed the Prologue, although there wasn't all that much to it. Trust me, it gets better.

Hope to see ya'll soon!

it looks like the story of max and may, but max is a bit evil and there are some more differences...

Actually it's about two sisters Kimi and Mimi. Once Chapter 03 hits the fic dives into the main story, which is far more interesting. You just gotta suffer Chapters 00, 01 and 02 :p

well. it wasn't bad so I'll keep here to see them

Awesome, thank you!

Chapter 01 ~ Harmony Of Darkness

I travelled alone. I do realise that I had my Pokémon with me, I had no human friends to keep me company. Although I talked to my Pokémon and got advice from them and help whenever I needed it, it didn’t compare to having an actual person. I know considerable advancements have been made between human and Pokémon relationships over the years but some people, like myself, need a human being to talk to.

“Presenting the challenger,” a man wearing a blue stripy top called out, “Kimi Mair!”

So, there I stood in a giant circular stadium. It was almost completely dark. All I could see was the glowing white outline of the battlefield and the woman who stood on the opposite side of it, staring at me with eerie white eyes.
Her name was Harmony (such a bright name for a dark woman). She wore a plain black shirt and black jeans with black shows and black lipstick and black eye-shadow and black and black and black…so very dull. There was no excitement in her at all. The only interesting feature was that she was so amazingly plain.
Me? You wanna know what I was wearing? Ok…I was standing in my fabulous green jeans - they’re fabulous because, at the top, they’re myrtle and slowly fade to white as they reach my feet - held up by a yellow belt. I was also wearing a tight fitting yellow shirt (it really helps show off my figure, although I’m not really interested in such things). My shoes were white (to go with the bottom of my jeans) with bright green laces. My hair, blonde like my sisters, although I keep mine shoulder length and tight back (I use a green ribbon for that if you didn’t already guess) to keep it out of my face. Well, that’s me. I’m not too much into my looks, I look good naturally.
Anyways, back to the stadium. As I said, it was really dark, all I could see was the outline of the battlefield and the people in it. Everything else was in complete utter darkness. It was quite frightening.

“Are you ready to begin?” Harmony asked.

Oh my God, her voice is even boring!

“Yes.” I replied chirpily.

Harmony picked up a small red and white orb from her black belt. She pressed a button on the front and it enlarged. She tossed it onto her half of the battlefield.
The ball hit the ground and bounced a little. It then rolled some and stopped dead.
We all stood staring at it for the longest time. Everything seemed so much slower when surrounded by infinite darkness.

“Send out your Pokemon,” the dark woman said silently.

“What about yours?” I asked, my voice shaking a little.

“She will emerge at her leisure,” Harmony smiled a little. “You’re afraid. I like it.”

Creepy.
I thought it fitting to begin my first Elite Four battle with the last Pokémon I caught. I pulled a PokéBall from my belt. I pressed the button to make it grown and threw it out onto the battlefield.
It hit the ground and bounced baked into the air, opening midway. The ball only opened a little and the white energy sneaked out and swirled down towards the ground. The ball flew back to my hand where it stayed. The energy continued to circle and then grow taller and fatter. It took on the shape of an orb and then many strands of hair sprouted and coiled around it, completely enveloping it. Two short feet also popped out to keep it standing. Then the colour flooded in.
The vines that entangled the black became a bright green (nice) and the feet, which were actually boots, were a red. As the colours finished showing, three bright stars danced around it and vanished.

“Alright Tangela!” I cheered. “Let’s show this girl what we’re made of!”

“Alright!” he cried confidently.

He’d changed so much since I first met him.
When I reached Lilycove City, I took the ferry back to Olivine City to spend a few days with my sister, Mimi. We were out having a picnic and, suddenly, this green bush bounded past us. He was being chased by a very angry group of youngsters. They claimed he had stolen food from them. Tangela told us, through my Gardevoir, what had happened - they had stolen, blamed him and were told to hunt him down! My blonde sister immediately felt sorry for him and took his side (simply to look good). She battled for his safety fiercely with her Lickitung and easily crushed the boys.
Tangy’s confidence had been totally shattered by the experience, he was an absolute wreck in battles, feeling like he couldn’t do anything but lose. On our to Sootopolis City, we made a stop at a place called Torus Island. It’s basically a tourist resort built in memory of the Battle Frontier, but it’s a good spot for beginning trainers to learn all the basics of battling. I transferred all of my Pokémon, except Gardevoir, back to Professor Birch’s and took on a rookie trainer and his Poliwag. Being a Grass type, Tangela made quick work of them. We kept that up for a few days and eventually took on a tougher trainer. We didn’t win but Tangela was very brave and felt better for it. He’s worked really since and steadily built up his confidence. Sometimes, he’s a little too confident.

“Feeling confident are you?” Harmony s******ed. “Come on out now girl, don’t be shy,” She said to the ball lying on the battlefield.

It began to shake, slowly and first, and then violently. It jumped into the air and the same white light exploded from it! Tangela jumped back towards me in fear. I covered my eyes to avoid looking at the light. It was so bright, I could make out the shape of the walls. I looked at the wall and saw my reflection. We were in a room full of mirrors!
I turned my attention back to the battlefield. The Pokemon staring across from me with her red eyes was an Umbreon. She was a dark grey fox-like creature with yellow rings on its legs, ears, tail and head. I know it was really dark, but I could swear its rings were glowing.

“There you are my girl.” Harmony smiled again.

She seemed a little more upbeat. It was quite odd.

“This battle will by a simple four-on-four match, the challenger may make substitutions if she wishes, Harmony shall not,” The judge said.

I’ll let you make the first move,” Harmony smiled.

“Alright!” I smiled. “Tangela, begin with Mega Drain!” I ordered.

“Nice!” my green plant said.

Little balls of yellow light flew from the black orb at the core of Tangela’s green body. They danced towards Umbreon and passed through her body. After sapping his energy, they swirled back to Tangela. Umbreon grunted a little and Tangela gleamed.

“Umbreon, use Confuse Ray!” Harmony commanded.

Umbreon’s red eyes began to glow and a large orb of red light spiralled towards my Tangela. It spun round him several times before dissipating. Tangela’s tangled green vines began to move on their own a little and he tripped over his own feet.

“Come on Tangela!” I called out. “Shake it off!”

It was no good. Tangela was moving about uncontrollably and falling and jumping everywhere. This was a complete disaster. My first battle against the first member of the Hoenn Elite Four was off to a terrible start.

“Ok now my girl,” the dark woman smiled, “use Mean Look!”

Umbreon’s eyes fixated on Tangela. He stopped moving, mesmerized by her stare. I was certain I saw a bolt of light pass from her to him.

“What was that?” I asked.

“Are you sure you deserve to be here?” Harmony flicked her hair back.

What did she mean?

“You don’t even know the attacks of the Pokémon you’re facing, how pathetic,” The depressingly depressed woman laughed.

I gritted my teeth. How much I wanted to go over there and punch her. I worked so hard to get here and I was not about to let her get in my way.

“Tangela!” I shouted.

Tangela regained his focus and control.

“Use Bind!” I pointed at Umbreon. “Don’t let her get away!”

Tangela hopped towards Umbreon and gently extended his vines, very slowly.

“Hahahaha!” Harmony giggled. “Is that supposed to frighten me?”

I smiled.
The green vines suddenly sped up, wrapping themselves around the black fox, tangling around his body, completely immobilising her.

“Ah!” Harmony gasped.

“What?” My turn to smile. “Surprised?”

“Umbreon!” Harmony called out. “Get out of that bind!”

I could see she was getting angry. I thought it might be frightening for her, becoming so emotional immediately after feeling so in control.

“Tangela, darling?” I asked. “Why don’t you use Tickle while your vines are right there?”

“HAHA!” he laughed in agreement.

The ends of his vines rubbed Umbreon’s fur gently but furiously. Umbreon began to smile. And then giggle. And then laugh.

“Umbreon! No!” Harmony jumped up and down in anger.

“Hehehe!” I laughed.

“Stop it!” Harmony screamed.

I stopped laughing and Tangela stopped the tickling.

“This is a serious battle!” Harmony bellowed across the battlefield. “Start acting like a grown up!”

“It’s an attack so he can use it.” I said plainly. “If you can’t accept it, maybe you shouldn’t be a member of the Hoenn Elite four.”

Harmony said nothing.

“Kimi!” Tangela shouted. “How’s about we get serious and show this witch what we’re made of?”

“Alright!” I agreed. “Let’s finish off with Slam!”

Tangela raised Umbreon up into the air.

“No,” Harmony said silently.

Threw her down onto the ground.

“Don’t,” the dark woman continued.

Tangela then got as close as he could, raised his vines up as high as they would go and brought them all crashing down onto Umbreon.

After a few moments, the Judge raised his hand closest to me, “Umbreon is unable to battle, Tangela wins the round!”

“Umbreon return.” Harmony pulled the PokéBall back out and a beam of red light shot from it and hit Umbreon, pulling him back into his ball. “Now you’ve really asked for it!” She snarled and pulled another ball from her belt. “I choose you, Murkrow!”

The ball flashed open. I could a glimpse of a figure on my right as the walls were temporarily illuminated. There were other people here.
The white energy from the ball took the shape of a small bird. It’s head was shaped like a witch’s hat and its tail feathers were a broom. It was completely black except for it’s red eyes and yellow beak and talons.

“Murkrow!” He cried as he spread his wings fully, stretching after being trapped inside the ball.

“Murkrow, use Shadow Ball!” Harmony shouted.

Murkow opened his yellow back as wide as he could. Midnight blue bolts flashed around a lavender ball that was being formed.

“Tangela, get ready to dodge this!” I said.

“Crap.” my green plant quivered.

The ball of dark energy shot from Murkrow’s mouth, heading at great speeds for my Tangela.

“Move!” I screamed.

Tangela managed to jump out of the way just in time. The Shadow Ball collided with the ground in front of me.

“Tangela?” I called out. “Are you alright?”

“I’m fine,” he grunted, glaring up at the black bird.

“Ok!” I cheered. “Try a Vine Whip!”

“Alright!” Tangela nodded and extended two of his vines.

The green vines writhed along towards Murkrow as quickly as possible.

“Murky, dodge it!” Harmony cried.

One of the vines came crashing down, but Murkrow was able to avoid it and it slammed into the ground. However, while Murkrow was busy dodging that one, the other one struck, knocking the crow out of the air and onto its back.

“Yes!” I applauded. “Well done Tangela!”

“Thanks!” Tangela turned to face me and smiled.

We were both feeling really confident. We’d taken down her dark fox and now it was the black bird’s turn! We stared into each others eyes. I felt so good looking at him - he’d gotten so strong so fast, it was inspiring.
I thought I heard Harmony say something but I couldn’t make it out as I was too busy, lost in the eyes of my green vine plant. I caught a glimpse of Murkrow with glowing wings and realised that Tangela’s turn in this battle was over. Murkrow’s Steel Wing struck, sending Tangela flying.

“Oh no!” I ran towards him.

He didn’t move. I held his messy green body in my arms.

“Tangela is unable to battle, Murkrow wins the round!” the judge called out.

I pulled the PokéBall from my belt and Tangela returned to it in a beam of red.

“Well done my friend, rest now.” I smiled.

I placed the ball back on my belt and pulled off the one next to it.

“Ok, now I’m really gonna get serious!” I hollered as I threw the ball. “Go for it Zooka!”

The ball clunked as it bounced off the ground. It opened and the white energy took the form of yet another Pokémon with many tentacles. It was a vermillion octopus with two yellow suction cups on each of its front two tentacles. The shape of its mouth always reminded me of a gun, the only physical feature of Zooka that I did not like.
He had many personality problems too. He was selfish, invasive and lazy. He ate everything he could get his slimy tentacles on. He stole so many times I was sure I’d lose him. He only came out of his PokéBall when it suited him. This battle presented him with a challenge, so I knew I could count on him here.

“Zooka, begin with Bubblebeam!” I commanded.

Zooka took in a deep breath and spewed out a stream of a thousand bubbles, all aiming for Murkrow. It was too fast for the black bird to dodge. The direct hit caused Murkrow to fall a bit, but he quickly regained his position.

“That it?” Harmony chuckled. “Murky, use Double Team!”

Murkow squawked and spread his wings out. In a flurry of black, a ring of about twenty identical black birds surrounded Zooka. My orange friend looked fearfully from side to side, frantically trying to identify the real Murkrow.

“Zooka!” I called out to my Pokémon. “Stay clam and aim a Ice Beam at the ground!”

Zooka nodded in agreement and aimed his gun at the ground. He fired a ray of glittering white which propelled him into the air.

“Now, use Blizzard!” I pointed at the group of Murkrow. “Hit ‘em all!”

Zooka was right above the circle of Murkrow. A immense wind blew from his mouth, combined with shards of ice and drops of snow. All of the Murkrow were struck down. The clones vanished and the real one, in an attempt to land safely, slipped on the ice-covered field. The bird fell and landed on one of its wings.
Zooka also landed, but use the suction cops on his forward tentacles to keep his balance.

“Murkrow!” Harmony said through gritted teeth. “Get up! NOW!”

Murkrow rose to his feet and stared painfully at me. She was far too rough.

“Get in the air and use Steel Wing!” Harmony screamed. “DO IT!”

Murkrow spread his wings and lifted himself into the air.

“No way.” I gasped.

Murkrow did not stay in the air for long. His injured wing could not carry him and so he fell back to the icy ground. He landed flat on his back and did not get up.

“Murkrow is unable to battle, Zooka wins the round!” the judge announced.

“Murkrow return.” Harmony kept her eyes to the floor as Murkrow returned to its ball.

I was certain I saw a tear fall.

“Now you’re in for it, girl,” she said quietly, “Now the real match begins!”

She looked up at me with angry eyes. All the lights in the room turned on. I screamed at the sight of it all.

As with this one, I'll put up Chapter 02 ~ Dark Reflection either tonight or tomorrow morning.
Hope you all enjoyed chapter 01!

Howcome the pokemon are talking?Good story though.

Actually, you'll notice only Kimi's Pokémon are talking because, as seen in the animé, a trainer can understand what their Pokémon says.

charizards friend said:
Oh,I thought uit was something like that, but it seemed like he was talking so....

He was talking.

To anyone else, all they'd hear from Tangela would be something along the lines of "tanga tanga tanga" whereas Kimi (who'd perspective this fic is written from) can understand that and so she hears it as "hello how are you" and, seeing since it's first person perspective, the reader sees and hears only what Kimi sees and hears (except for in the Special chapters) and so, therefore, the reader can understand Kimi's Pokémon just as well as she can.

I felt the need to clear that up, I don't think I explained it very well earlier.

Ok then, I've decided to just go ahead and post the next chapter (seeing since it's done anyways and I wanna get caught up asap).

Chapter 02 ~ Dark Reflection

“Oh my God!” I cried out.

Just when I was getting so used to the darkness, the biggest battle of my life got a little weirder! The walls of the room were mirrors. Everywhere I looked I saw a long tunnel full of reflections. Even the floor was a mirror, so glad I wasn’t wearing a skirt.

“What is this?” I called to my opponent.

“This is the battlefield,” Harmony smiled.

Her face was different. In this light she seemed so happy and bright.

“Let’s continue,” Harmony produced a blue and white ball from her belt.

She tossed it gently onto the mirror floor and the white energy was expelled. The white reflecting off all the mirrors, filling the entire room with a bright light. I covered my eyes.
I opened them when I was sure it was safe. I opened my eyes and saw a white angel-like being floating a few feet above the ground. It was beautiful. I felt so happy just looking at it. It had small delicate wings, short stubby arms and three horns on it head.

It stared at me with a blank expression and asked, “Toge?”

“Togetic,” Harmony said pleasantly, “begin with Yawn.”

The angel smiled and blew a pink bubble from its mouth. The bubble steadily grew as it floated gently towards Zooka. It struck Zooka and burst. Nothing happened. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Zooka, show them what an attack should be like,” I laughed, “use Aurora Beam!”

Zooka inhaled deeply and fired a beautiful beam of rainbow light towards Togetic.

“Dodge it Togetic!” Harmony shouted.

Togetic dropped down onto the ground and fell over slightly. The rainbow beam missed and hit into one of the mirrored walls. It bounced back and hit Zooka instead.

“Oops,” I giggled.

My orange octopus began to sway from side to side and then collapsed. Aurora Beam shouldn’t have done that.

“What’s going on?” I asked. “Zooka! Get up!”

Zooka did not move, he was fast asleep.

“Aw,” the now bright woman teased, “looks like Zooka’s tired.”

The judge held up his hand closest to Harmony and said, “Zooka is unable to battle, this round goes to Harmony!”

“What?!” I yelled.

I couldn’t believe it! That pathetic bubble knocked Zooka out cold!

I sighed and held out my PokéBall saying, “Zooka return.”

I thought on what to use next. Tangela and Zooka were gone, leaving me with Pichu, Shellos, Gardevoir and Politoed. I looked up at the first member of Hoenn’s Elite Four. What would she use after Togetic? There was no way Pichu or Shellos would go up against it, they’re my babies and are rarely used for battles. Gardevoir or Politoed? They’d both get used eventually. I decided it would be best to leave the strongest of the two for last.

“Go Politoed!” I threw my third ball onto the field.

I covered my eyes as the light filled the room.
Once the light had cleared, I looked out towards my Pokémon. He stood motionless.

“Mmmmmmmmm…” was all I could hear from my Pokémon.

Politoed was great! He had a wonderful way of fooling his foe and dancing to confuse him. The hypnotic yellow swirl on his green body seemed to spin whenever he danced, confusing the opponent.
I was given this egg one day by a mysterious woman with orange hair. She told me that her Politoed had had an egg but she didn’t have time to raise it properly as she was too busy. At first, I thought that was very mean but, when I saw on TV that she was involved in the final destruction of Team Rocket, I realised that it probably would’ve had a better life with me.

The four of us were stationary - Harmony and Togetic watched Politoed in silence, wondering about what he was going to do. Nothing happened.

“Togetic!” Harmony called out. “Double Edge!”

Togetic hopped back a few steps and the dashed towards Politoed, using its wings to hover a little while running. Politoed did not move from his position. Togetic drew closer and closer. Politoed still did not move. Just as Togetic was about to hit, it stopped.

“What?” Harmony asked, her eyes wide with surprise.

Togetic’s body had a blue glow around it. Politoed moved one of its arms, up and down, up and down. All of a sudden, Togetic went up and down, up and down, crashing into the ceiling and floor each time. Eventually, Politoed stopped and Togetic collapsed onto the mirror floor.

“How did you?” Harmony gasped.

“What? You don’t know what an attack does?” I giggled. “How very unprofessional of you.”

“Just tell me!” Harmony clenched her fists.

“Politoed knows Psychic!” I exclaimed.

Politoed rose to his feet and danced towards Togetic. He was very delicate and graceful in his movements. The spiralling pattern on his belly fixating Togetic in place - she could not escape.
Togetic looked up just as Politoed approached, her eyes filled with fear.
Politoed required no instructions from me. He knew what to do. He lowered his head till he was level with Togetic and smiled. He rose, drawing in a deep breath as he went. A blue dust began to form in front of his open mouth, spiralling its way, forming a ball of ice. Politoed then stopped. He smiled at her adversary again and exhaled a beam of ice with great speed and force. Togetic was frozen solid.
Politoed, after executing his attack, danced his way back to me and returned to his stationary position.

“Togetic is unable to battle!” the judge announced, “this round goes to Politoed!”

Harmony remained silent and returned Togetic to her Great Ball in a beam of red.

“Alright,” she said as she threw another ball onto the field.

This ball was different - it was pure yellow with green leaves painted on it.
The strange ball flashed open to reveal Harmony’s final Pokémon. Standing before me on small feet was a beautiful fat pink creature with soft curly hair. The bottom half of its body was white and reminded me of a ballet dancer. It also had a pink pouch with an delicious looking egg inside.

“Hello Blissey,” Harmony smiled.

I swallowed, slightly afraid that this battle was going to be over very soon. I’d read about the Happiness Pokémon, that it’s low attack was made up for significantly by its high HP and defence.

“Blissey, use Flash,” Harmony said as she covered her eyes.

Blissey raised its short arms up and screamed. A bright light filled the room, its power increasing greatly by the mirrors reflecting the attack. The light filled my head, I noticed Politoed curl into a ball before I had to shield my eyes. My head was spinning. That light was so bright.

“Aaahhh!” I screamed.

I couldn’t see. What was going on?
I heard Politoed get knocked over. Felt something touch my leg. I heard a voice calling for help. What was happening?

“Politoed?” I called out.

Everything began to shake. I heard things smash, something pushed me. I fell to the ground.

When I stood up and opened my eyes, I realised I was somewhere else. Had that Flash done this? What was that shaking? Where was Politoed, Blissey and Harmony?

“Hello,” a small voice said.

I turned around. No-one was there. There was nothing here, just mirrors. I was reflected in all of the mirrors but one. One of them was my sister, Mimi. Her mouth opened and she spoke, but the words never reached me.

“I need your help,” the voice said.

It sounded female, but young so I could not be sure.

“They’re looking for me,” she said.

The reflections changed to dark shadows, jumping from one to another.

“Who’s there?” I asked.

“One of them is nice, you get to save him, not the others, not the others, they’re all gone, all gone away to the shadows,” the voice continued.

What the hell? I didn’t understand. One of those menacing shadows was nice?

“What are you talking about?” I shouted.

One mirror turned completely black.

“Watch out for her, she leads the shadows,” the little voice said.

I didn’t care if she was the Queen! I wanted answers and I wanted them now!

“Answer me!” I screamed.

All the mirrors shattered. I screamed again and fell to the floor, covering my face as sharp glass fell all around me.

“Kimi! Kimi, get up!” A woman said.

Who?

I looked up and saw a tall woman with blonde hair holding her hand out to me. She was wearing tight blue jeans and a lavender top. Her hair bounced its way round her head and past her shoulders.

“Why are you here?” I jumped to me feet.

“To cheer you on silly!” My sister smiled gleefully.

“What happened?” I asked.

I looked around. All the glass was broken, revealing stone walls and a cracked ceiling. Politoed lay on the floor, badly injured, Blissey was struggling to stand, taking short, quick breaths. Harmony too had been knocked to the floor with a few light cuts and scrapes.

“Ok, that was not a good idea,” Harmony shook her head and stood up, "You alright Blissey?"

Blissey said nothing and attempted to steady her breathing.

“From what I can tell, you freaked out,” Mimi said, “you panicked in the Flash and just collapsed onto the ground, Blissey attacked Politoed constantly and finished him off with Earthquake. As you can see,” she added, “That was not the best idea.”

“Oh,” I sighed and nodded in agreement.

“I got here just as Blissey was sent out,” she said as I pulled out my PokéBall and returned Politoed to it, “I’m sorry but I don’t know all the details.”

“I’m so sorry I let you down,” I said to the ball, turning my attention away from my sister, “rest now my friend.”

“You ready to carry on?” Harmony asked from the other side of the field.

“You bet!” I got another ball from my belt and threw out towards the shattered battlefield.

The ball flashed open, the white energy not reflecting as strongly as before, and revealed my final Pokémon - Gardevoir!
My Pokémon appeared gracefully as the swirling white energy took the form of her slender body. Her ball gown bottom danced as a wind blew through a hole in the wall. Her long green arms folded across her red chest. Once fully formed, she flicked a part of her short green hair back, preventing it from getting into her red eyes.
Gardevoir was a real friend to me for so long. Although I mostly travelled with no human companions, Gardevoir was good enough for someone to talk to and help me out. We talked about everything from strategies to boys to family. If it wasn’t for her, and all the others of course, I wouldn’t have been as prepared for this battle as I was.

“Let’s finish this!” she said confidently.

And so it came down to our last Pokémon each - Gardevoir against Blissey, me against her.
This should be easy now, I thought. Blissey looked completely exhausted and was also shaken from the quake. Simple.
Gardevoir floated, staring into the beady eyes of her pink fluffy foe.
Blissey was almost down, huffing and puffing, tired from battling Politoed.
Harmony was standing tall, looking down her nose at me.
This was it.

“Gardevoir, finish her off with Psychic!” I commanded.

Gardevoir moved closer and raised her slender green arms up into the air, a blue aura surrounding her.

“Blissey!” Harmony smiled. “Softboiled!”

The egg in Blissey’s pink pouch floated up and began to crack open.
The blue light that spiralled around Gardevoir concentrated itself in her eyes and a beam of energy shot from them straight for Blissey. But, it was too late.
Blissey had already revitalised herself with her egg. Sure, Psychic did good damage, it just wasn’t enough.
It was then that I realised this battle was over and I was going to lose. I looked down at my feet, my lovely white shoes with bright green laces. I looked at the PokéBall I held in my hand. We’d come so far. I looked at the broken glass walls and floor, the hole in the wall revealing light from the outside world. It felt like so long since I’d been out there, journeying, having fun. Battling like this wasn’t for me. I wanted to be travelling with my Pokémon, going places with them. Here, this was the end, my journey would end here. If I beat her, and the three to follow along with the Champion, I’d be stuck here. It was not for me.

“I can’t…” I whispered as tears began to stream down my cheeks.

I clutched the ball tightly.

Gardevoir turned to face me, she floated towards me. I felt her green hands on my cheeks, wiping away my tears, just as she always did.

“It’s ok.” she smiled lovingly.

All of my balls suddenly flashed open, my family was around me.
Pichu, the baby given to me when I was born
Tangela, the brave man who stood up for his beliefs.
Shellos, the slug who needs a hug.
Zooka, the rebel who found a home with us.
Gardevoir, the woman who always guarded me.
Politoed, the comedian who makes us all laugh.
All of them, my family, stood with me.

“It’s ok if you choose to not do this.” Gardevoir said for them.

I looked up, gazed into each of their eyes. I fought back more tears.

“Thank you.” I began to sob.

I felt a hand on my shoulder. Mimi.

Gardevoir turned to face my opponent, saying for me, “We have decided to forfeit.”

“Are you sure?” the judge asked.

The white woman turned to look at everyone.

They all nodded, saying, “Yes,” together.

“Alright.” the judge shrugged, “This round goes to Blissey, the winner of the battle is Harmony, First of the Hoenn Elite four!”

In a flurry of red light, all six of my Pokémon returned to their balls.

“Thank you.” I whispered once more as I wiped the final few tears from my eyes.

“Hey.” Harmony smiled gently as she walked over to me.

She hugged me.

“You battled very well, I was worried a few times there.” she laughed, “Congratulations.”

“For what?” I looked up at her.

“For giving me one of the best battles I’ve had in a long time.” she shook my hand, adding, “Good luck.”

Harmony then turned away and swiftly walked towards the judge.

“Get someone in here right now and clean up this mess!” she yelled.

“Yes ma’am!” the judge quickly ran off.

Harmony sighed and shook her head, “I need a bath.” she said and also left the arena.

“Come one,” Mimi smiled and took my arm.

“What?” I stumbled as she dragged me through the hole in the wall. “Where are we going?” I asked.

“Firstly, you’re going to the Pokémon Centre to change those smelly clothes.” She looked at me in disgust, although I knew she didn’t mean it.

“That all?” I smirked.

"Nope!" She smiled. "After that..."she paused dramatically, "we're going to the Battle Frontier!"

Chapter 03 ~ Lost In Blue

The world of Pokémon - a mysterious place filled with magical creatures of all shapes and sizes. Along with these amazing creatures are the humans, acting as trainers, breeders, co-ordinators, watchers, nurses, friends and family. Living together in harmony.
In this world, the humans and Pokémon are divided. Some humans use Pokémon for evil, turning them against their own kind. Team Rocket was the last such group of humans to fall, defeated at the hands of two of the most experienced trainers.
Their Boss was the last to go. She battled to the very last, but she was destroyed by her own greed.
Few loyal to the Rockets remain. But they are there, watching from the shadows. Searching for a special place where they can revive their Boss. Only one Pokémon in the world has the power to restore her - Unown…

On the glistening blue ocean, a small boat sped towards a group of islands known as Hanlanger. The water sparkled as Pokémon swam and jumped through the water, following the boat to see where it is going.
On the deck of the boat stood a tall woman wearing tight blue jeans and a tight purple top. Her long blonde hair flowed past her shoulders, curling its way down. She lifted her small hand from the railing and brushed a curl out of her sapphire eyes.
By her feet sat her most treasured Pokémon - Piki, a Pachirisu - licking her snow-white tail clean. A bright pink strip stretched right from the tips of her tiny ears to the end of her fluffy tail. She giggled as her trainer petted her.
There was another woman watching her - a woman dressed in a tight black cat-suit. Her eyes were yellow and wide. She looked at Piki with a deep hunger.

“Want it…” she uttered.

“Hey!” I said as I ran over to my sister.

I passed the hungry lady and glared at her. She whimpered and fled.

“Howdy,” my sister smilesd at me.

Mimi took a moment to take in my new look fully.

“You look really great,” she said.

Wow. A compliment from my big sister, how awesome (she rarely said anything nice about the way I look).
I was now wearing green shoes and knee-high black socks, stretching almost to my matching green skirt. Covering my torso was a tight black top under an open lime shirt. My hair was now partially hidden by my green hat, but two bundles of blonde hair stuck out at either side of my head.

“I know,” I grinned.

Mimi shook her head and sat down next to the fluffy white squirrel. Piki stopped cleaning herself and leapt up into her trainer’s arms.

“Cutie,” she gleamed.

I smiled down at them. It felt so good to be here with her. I couldn’t have asked for a better companion to travel with me. I turned to face the ocean, clutching the railing tightly with both hands. I watched a group of blue sea-horse swim around, playfully blowing bubbles at each other. I laughed.
The brightness faded as a dark cloud passed overhead. I looked up at it. For a moment it looked like there was someone smiling at me from inside the cloud. There was a sudden flash of many wide eyes in my mind. I felt dizzy and began to sway. I felt someone hands, one on my waist, the other holding my wrist.

“Are you ok?” Mimi asked.

“Chichi?” Piki patted at my legs.

I took in a deep breath. The dizziness had passed.

“I’m fine,” I lied.

I was so not fine. What had just happened? Did it have anything to do with the vision of mirrors I had during my battle with Harmony? I wished I had the answers. So many eyes. God, I felt so dizzy again. I looked out at the blue. It seemed distorted somehow, like it was being flushed down a drain.
The distortion grew and swallowed up the boat and everyone on it. It felt like my body was being ripped in two…

I woke up on a small island in the middle of the ocean. I do not use the world small lightly. There was almost nothing here - a few trees but that was it.
I wandered around for a little while, searching for any clue as to what had happened to Mimi, Piki and the boat.

“Are you lost?” a soft feminine voice asked.

I turned around to face a woman with pale skin wearing a pink shirt and skirt under a white apron. Her rose coloured hair was tied into two rings at either side of her head.

“Who are you?” I asked.

“Joy,” she said plainly.

“Where did you come from?” I circled around her.

This island was way too small. I had covered the entire are, there is no way I could not have seen her earlier. She literally appeared out of thin air.

“Thin air apparently,” she lifted her left hand to her mouth and giggled. “Sorry,” she smiled and cleared her throat.

She could read my mind.

“Of course,” she said, “this is your mind after all.”

Looking back on this entire incident, I wonder why I did not run and scream and get as far away from her as I possible could. To be honest, I’m glad I didn’t. This little freaky incident was insignificant compared to what came afterwards…

“She needs your help,” Joy took a step towards me, “she cannot continue to hold them back.”

“Who?” I took a step away from her.

The eyes. The image of the thousands of eyes I saw earlier flashed back into my mind. I heard voices, so many voices, calling out for help. I couldn’t focus on anything. Everything was spinning, falling, tumbling, going away, everything was going away. All gone.

“They can’t get through!” I cried out as I sat up.

“Ah!” Mimi screamed. “You’re awake!”

Her curly hair bounced as she bolted out of the door.

I was in an infirmary of sorts. One plain white bed in a plain white room on the plain white boat. Why would anyone want to come here? Why did I think that? What wanted to come through. I wish I knew.

“Ah, you’re awake,” an old male voice said.

I turned to face an short balding man wearing a lab coat.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

The old man said nothing. Instead, he pulled out a pair of glasses, stuck them on and began studying a chart attached to the foot of the bed.

“You collapsed again,” Mimi explained. “Just like you did at Evergrande.”

“Oh,” I sighed and looked down towards the doctor man.

I didn’t notice the woman who came, although I heard her soft feminine voice. I sent me back to my vision of Nurse Joy. What had happened there? I thought, someone must be trying to tell me something. But…why me? Thinking more on it, I began to think, did it actually happen or was it just a dream…

The doctor wanted me to stay in the white room overnight, just in case I “fainted” again. Mimi had gone back to her room at my request. I did not want her to see me so weak.
I was always the strong one in the family. While Mimi got so much special treatment, I had to learn how to look after myself. It was hard, I hated it, but am glad for it because…because I wouldn’t be the same person if it hadn’t happened that way.
I wondered what my mum and dad were doing at that moment. Just as Mimi and I were starting off on a new adventure, were they still leading a boring life? Probably…

There was a sudden crash!

I bolted upright and leapt out of the bed.
I looked so wonderful in my sexy new blue trousers and shirt. Nice!
I walked cautiously through the door to where the noise had come from - the doctor’s office. Inside was a simple white desk and brown leather swivel chair (very comfortable). A medicine cabinet was in the corner, opposite a gorgeous tiny bonsai tree. Cute!
Anyways, the cabinet had been broken open. I immediately cam to the conclusion that someone had stolen some kind of medicine. And there was no way that would go well. But, who would want to steal medicine? Unless they were sick, I couldn’t really think of any other purpose.
I wandered about for a little while in the dark night, searching for any clues. I walked down cold, empty corridors, passing by many silent rooms. Several times I thought I saw something out of the corner of my eye, but each time there was nothing.
When I reached the stairs leading up to the deck, I decided to just go back to bed and discuss it with the doctor first thing in the morning. Back in my room, I huddled under the covers and tried to sleep. Every time I closed my eyes all I could see were those eyes. Why had they come back to haunt me now? Did they have something to do with the missing medicine? I simply didn’t understand…

I slept for a few hours but woke up around four. I climbed out of the white bed and shivered as my feet touched the cold white floor. I moved silently over to the window and peered out. I watched several blue serpents swim peacefully by, turning their horned heads to smile at the boat as it passed. One of them stretched its cloud-like ears and used them to fly out of the water. The rest joined in and they all flew away, leaving behind a small rainbow. It was quite beautiful.
But it wasn’t enough to distract me from the vision I had of the eyes and Joy. And what of the mirror room with the tiny voice that warned me of the shadow woman. Who could she be?

“Please!” I screamed. “HELP ME!”

I covered my face with my eyes and fell to my knees, sobbing. Why me? Why had this thing chose me? I didn’t want to be involved. All I wanted was to journey to the Battle Frontier with my big sister and compete in eight challenging battles. Was that too much to ask?
I shook my head and rose, peering back out of the window. I could see a group of red balls floating using their green leafy propellers. They were so cute. One moved right up close to the window and tapped it with its tiny pink hand.

“Hello,” I forced a smile.

The Hoppip pressed both hands against the window and looked at me worryingly. I could tell it sensed my pain. I smiled more easily now, knowing that someone understood that something was really wrong here. The Hoppip cheered and dashed off to join its friends.
I thought about telling Mimi about my visions, what I had been seeing. Maybe she could help me out. Or, maybe, it might just make me feel better to talk about it and get someone else’s perspective on it.
I wasn’t sure and decided to wait. Right now, all it was, was a vision, a dream. It shouldn’t mean anything. Sure, both times I did pass out, but it’s not gotten any severer than that. I would wait and, if it got worse, then I would seek help. Sounded good, in theory.

“Hey,” I heard my sister’s voice behind me.

I turned to face her in her fluffy pink dressing gown, complete with a white electric squirrel on her head.

“Chi?” Piki jumped down and ran across the cold floor towards me.

I knelt down and scooped her up in my arms, tickling her under the chin.

“Hey there cutie-pie,” I whispered.

“Chiihiihii!” she giggled.

“How are you feeling?” Mimi asked as she walked towards me.

My big sister knelt down beside me, placing a hand on my shoulder.

“I’m better, thanks,” I smiled weakly.

My sister said nothing but smiled. I wanted to tell her what was going on, all about my visions, Joy, the eyes and that scared little girl.

I stood up, still holding the white squirrel, and said, “let’s go for a walk.”

The three of us walked through all the halls, passing by all the open doors to cabins that were closed last night. Then I remembered about the medicine. We climbed the stairs to the deck and walked over to the railing at the edge and looked out to the big blue void.
It was so empty now, nothing swimming about, having fun. Not today. It made me a little sad, seeing the ocean so lifeless.

“There may be nothing out there now,” a woman said, “but remember, they’re all off on new adventures, just like you.”

I turned to face a woman wearing a white apron over a pink shirt and top, with her rose coloured hair tied into two rings by her ears.

“Hi, my name is Joy, what’s yours?” she extended a hand.

I took it and replied, “Kimi.”

She released me, smiled and walked away.

“See you soon,” she said as the left, “Kimi.”

Joy walked down the deck to the other side of the boat. I shuddered. It was her, the woman from my vision. Did that mean that everything else I saw would happen in some form or another?

“Are you ok?” Mimi asked.

I nodded but remained silent.

“Chiip?” Piki looked up at me and licked my chin.

I giggled and returned her to her trainer.

“I gotta go!” I turned away and ran after Joy.

I ran down the deck and turned the corner at the back of the boat, expecting to see the pink woman. Instead, I bumped into a woman dressed in complete black.

“Sorry,” I said and looked at her.

It was the cat woman I had seen the day before. She was still squashed into her tight leathers.

Her yellow eyes widened angrily and she snarled, “Watch it!”

Her voice was quite squeaky, it worried me a bit.

“I’m sorry,” I smiled briefly and darted past her.

She muttered something under her breath that I didn’t quite catch. I wasn’t interested in her then anyway, Joy was my priority.

I spied the nurse talked to the doctor who had helped me when I fainted. They were talking about the missing medicine. I stayed back and listened to their conversation.

“Oh no!” Joy gasped, “That’s terrible!”

“I know, I know,” the doctor said. “We need to find out who did this.”

“Without that medicine, that poor baby won’t survive.” Joy wiped a tear from her eye.

The doctor took her by the shoulders and said reassuringly, “We’ll find the person who did this, I’ve already contacted Officer Jenny at Juxa Port, no-one will be allowed to leave the boat until the medicine is found.”

Joy looked deeply into his eyes, “Thank you.”

The doctor hugged her and left. The pink woman then turned to face the ocean and inhaled deeply.

“Nurse Joy?” I asked as I approached her, “Can I talk with you for a moment?”

She turned to face me and forced a smile, “Of course dear,” she said.

“I…” I began.

I stopped when I realised that this was not the time to be discussing my problem. Right now, there was someone in great need of medicine which was missing.

“I…I would like to, um, help, help you find out who stole the medicine,” I placed a hand on her shoulder , “Is there anything I can do?”

“Not really,” Joy looked out into the deep blue, “There’s nothing we can do until we reach Juxa, Jenny’s there, she’ll get to the bottom of this.”

“Ok,” I stared at her for a few moments and then walked away.

I decided it would be best to leave her alone for a while, she needed time to sort this out.
I returned to the other side of the boat where I had left my sister and Piki. They were not there. I thought nothing of it, thinking they had simply returned to their room. I headed there, hoping to find them.
I knocked on the door. There was no response. I forced the door open and found it empty, except for her remaining five PokéBalls, which was very strange because she always had them with her. It was then that I realised that something was terribly wrong.
I picked one of the balls up and tossed it into the air.
It flashed open, releasing the energy trapped within. The white light flowed down to the floor and took the form of blue ball holding two cotton ball pompoms, with another bobbing back and forth on its head. It hovered just slightly, its tiny blue feet just touching the floor.

“Jum?” she asked.

“Do you know where Mimi is?” I asked Jumpluff.

“Jum,” she shook her head from side to side.

“We need to find her,” I said. “Something is very wrong on this boat,”

I snatched up the rest of the PokéBalls and returned Jumpluff to hers in a beam of red. I bolted from the room and made my way back up to the deck.
I ran round to the back of the boat and round again to the front, passing Nurse Joy on my way. She went to say something but I ignored her. She chased after me.
When we reached the front of the boat, we saw Kimi and Piki tied up right at the edge.

“Not a step closer,” a squeaky voice said.

We turned our attention to face where the voice came from.
It was the cat-suit woman. Her yellow eyes were filled with anger and hate.

“What are you doing?” Joy asked fearfully.

I pulled out a PokéBall, ready to send out Gardevoir. The dark woman quickly grabbed my sister, holding her close.

“Do you really want to risk it?” Joy asked. “If you send something out to attack her, you’re sister will get it too, it’s too dangerous.”

I sighed angrily and returned the ball to my belt.

“Let my sister go!” I ordered.

“Sorry, can’t do that kiddo,” the woman sneered, “Orders are orders.”

“Orders?” I echoed.

“Orders,” cat-suit repeated.

She pressed something in her ear and a tiny microphone slid down to her mouth.

“I’m in position,” she said into it. “Get ready to go to phase two.”

Cat-suit turned her attention back to me and smiled, “Won’t be long now.”

The wind picked up and a shadow loomed overhead. It was a helicopter. A rope-ladder dropped down and cat-suit climbed onto it, taking my tied-up sister with her.

“Up we go,” she said into the microphone.

Nothing happened. Someone was talking to her on the other end but I couldn’t make it out.

“What do you mean?” she asked angrily. “Of course I have it!”

It? The medicine! She must’ve taken it!

“Yes, yes!” she was growing impatient. “Everything is here, I’ve got the drug, I’ve got the girl and I’ve got the tablet! Just pull me up!”

The ladder went up and up, right into the helicopter. It moved away, slowly at first and then sped off into the distance, taking the medicine and my sister with it.

“NO!” I screamed.

I ran to the front of the boat where Mimi had been. I had lost her, just after we’d gotten back together. What was I going to do now? I had no idea who they were or what they wanted, all I knew was that my sister had something to do with it. Her, some drug and a tablet. That wasn’t enough information to go on. I’d have to travel on my own to find her.

“I will find you,” I sobbed. “I promise.”

This is an amazing fic!

Um, thanx!

Ok, here comes chapter 04! I made a mistake with the names - chapter 04 is called Hidden, chapter 05 is called Secrets. Sorry about that!

Chapter 04 ~ Hidden

She was gone. I couldn’t believe it.
I sat alone in her room on the ship. We were just about to arrive at Juxa Port where Officer Jenny would begin questioning the passengers.

There was a knock on the door at a voice called, “May I come in?”

“Sure,” I stood up and shook off my sadness.

I still felt horrible inside, but I didn’t want it to show. I had to be strong.

Joy, the pink nurse woman, came in and said, “Officer Jenny’s ready to see you now.”

“Ok,” I said silently and went for the door.

Nurse Joy grabbed my arm and smiled, “We’ll get her back, I promise you.”

I said nothing and left once she had released me. I walked down the dark empty corridor, past all the cabins and up into the brightness of the deck. From there, I made my way round to the side of the big white boat to the ramp, which led me off the boat. A woman dressed in a blue skirt and shirt waited for me.

“Hello, miss,” she smiled.

The two of us walked together to the police station in the centre of town. We walked by small huts on the beach and into the tall stone slabs of flats. It only took a few minutes to reach a large cylindrical building with a giant gold badge above its double doors. Officer Jenny led me inside.
We sat at her desk in her small office. She took off her blue hat and shook out her blue hair.
Everything about the way she looked was blue…kind of how I felt inside…

“Please take a seat,” she motioned to a chair opposite her wooden desk.

She sat in a leather chair behind the desk, resting her pale face in her heads and her elbows on the table.

“I am deeply sorry for your lose, please remember,” she sounded like she‘d said this many times before, “we are doing everything we can to find your sister and bring her back.”

To be honest, she didn’t sound very sincere. In saying that, I didn’t care. I just wanted to go out and look for Mimi myself.

“Please, tell me what happened,” she said as she reached into a drawer and pulled out a recorder.

She clicked it on and I repeated everything I knew of what had happened.

“Okay,” she sighed and stood up, “that is quite consistent with everyone else’s accounts.” Jenny smiled, “You’re free to go, good luck.”

I rose and we shook hands, forcing smiles for each other.

“Thank you,” I said as I left the cylindrical building.

Outside I was surrounded by many, many tall buildings. This place certainly put the emphasis on big. I wandered the streets for a while, passing various shops and house as I went. I had nowhere to go. I didn’t know where to begin. Directionless.

“Hi!” A strong hand slapped down on my shoulder.

“Ow!” I yelped and turned around.

A boy wearing baggy blue jeans and a faun jumper, with a matching faun canvas bag, stood before me. He seemed very bright and chipper, it was odd. Although, there was something dark about his eyes and smile, like he was secretly plotting something.
His hair was dyed blonde, with the roots really needing a touch-up, and tied back.

He pushed thin-framed glasses up towards his blue eyes and asked, “are you Kimi Mair?”

“Uh…” I hesitated.

Who was this mysterious man?

“Yes,” I eventually replied.

“Hiya!” he exclaimed and grabbed my hand excitedly. “My name’s Will, I’ve been assigned to you, as a guide to the Battle Frontier!”

He let me go and I rubbed my hand as he shook it way too hard.
Guide? How convenient.

“Now, I know, I know, you just lost your sister,” his eyes gleamed, “but I know some stuff about the guys who took her!”

I gasped. He knew!

“And…” he paused, “I know where they took her!”

Will smiled, so pleased with himself. I grabbed him by his faun jumper and asked, “Where?”

He wriggled out of my grasp.

“Follow me!” he called as he ran towards the edge of the city, away from the dock.

I gave chase.

We ran through a few busy streets to a great steel fence, which kept the city and the surrounding forest separate. We followed it round until we reached an open gate.

“This,” he pointed towards the forest, “is Stellop Forest, the only known route to the first Frontier Challenge, Rumble Rock Range.”

“Rumble Rock Range?” I repeated.

“Yes.” he nodded. “That’s where you’ll face Rochelle, Ranger of the Range.”

Okay. I was intrigued. This was why I’d come here after all, but…

“Who, exactly, will this help me find my sister?” I placed my hands on my hips.

“Well,” he pushed his glasses up again, “Rochelle has connections, underground connections, who know things,” he began to walk away towards the trees, “possibly about Mimi and her disappearance.”

How did he know her name? I knew he was too good to be true. How convenient it was for him to show up with the information that I needed just when I needed it the most.

I followed him into the woods. Trees stretched right up, completely smothering us on all sides. This was a very enclosed space. I couldn’t even see the tall buildings of the city, even though I knew that if I walked backwards for about ten minutes, I’d be surrounded by them too.

I walked slowly behind him, keeping very quiet. He rounded a corner, vanishing from my sight for just a moment. I sped up so I could see where he was heading. I didn’t like the idea of him being hidden from me. By the time I rounded the corner, he was gone.

I looked around, but he was nowhere to be seen. I took in a deep breath. I was feeling very scared.

“BOO!” two hands slapped down on my shoulders.

I jumped a foot in the air and bolted deeper into the woods, screaming all the way.

“Hey, wait!” I heard him call out from behind me.

No way in Hell was I gonna wait for him!

I kept running, jumping over various fallen braches, logs, patches of leaves, bushes, avoiding various trees, ducking under branches and making sure not to step on little green caterpillars.

I soon found myself standing in the middle of a clearing. A strong wind swept across the field I found myself in. I wrapped my arms around my shoulders. This short green skirt really was not appropriate. I’d have to change out of it at some point.

In this clearing, the grass was quite short and it was shaped like a giant circle, with rows of giant trees surrounding it. Seemed like the perfect spot to set up an ambush for someone.

Crap.

I looked around nervously. I could hear sounds coming from all round. There were shadows dancing among all the trees.

“Who?” I shivered, “who’s there?” I called out.

“Who’s there?” a voice answered.

I yelped a little and shut my eyes. I certainly hadn’t expected a reply!

“Who’s there? Who’s there?” the question echoed throughout the circle.

I opened my eyes and took in a deep breath. I spun around, full-circle, slowly, looking for any signs of who might be there.

I caught a glimpse of a black shape. And another. Just fleeting between the trees. I couldn’t make out what they were. Then I saw what I had been looking for - as one of the creatures darted past, I noticed it had one giant white eye embedded in its black shape.

“Eyes.” I whispered. “My vision.”

There was a lot of squeaking and the black creatures darted deeper into the woods.

“Kimi!” a male voice called out.

Will emerged from the trees and ran towards me.

“What happened?” he put his hands on my shoulder gently and looked deep into my eyes.

I moved away from him.

“How do you know what my sister’s name is?” I asked calmly.

“How do I?” he seemed surprised.

I rubbed my eyes to prevent any tears from flooding out, I really didn’t have the patience to go on another sob-fest.

He sighed and replied, “Officer Jenny, when she questioned me, told me that a girl called Mimi had been kidnapped, she told me you were her sister.”

My eyes opened wide.

Innocent? No. No, he couldn’t be. He had to…

“No…” I hands started to shake, “you can’t be…”

He looked at me sympathetically.

“I realise that you need someone to blame for this,” he held my hand, “but I’m not the one you need to blame.”

I looked at the grass on the ground. It waved so slowly in the wind.

“But I know that, if anyone can help you find someone to blame, it’s Rochelle,” he smiled.

I took in a few more deep breaths and wiped away my tears.

“Okay,” I forced a smile. “Okay.”

“Okay,” Will repeated.

He led the way out of the clearing and back into the deep green of the tall trees. I walked beside him, staring at the ground the whole way.

“We should stop,” Will said.

He lifted his bag off and set it down on the ground. I looked up. I hadn’t even realised that it had gotten dark. I took off my black backpack and put it next to his. We both rolled out sleeping bags and climbed into them.
Several roots and old tree trunks surrounded us. It was quite difficult to get comfortable. Will seemed to fall asleep instantly. I wished that I was that lucky. I had too much on my mind to sleep. I closed my eye and began to think more on the events that had happened.

Would this Rochelle really be able to help me find my big sister? What was with those eyes? What were they? Those black shapes with wide white eyes, dancing in the trees. Were these the shadows that I had to watch out for? You get to save one of them. That small voice. Who did it belong too?

I stared blankly up at the stars. I watched as a flock of big blue birds with cotton wings flew past. I looked over at my new travelling companion. How comforting it must be for him, to only have to worry about guiding a girl through a group of islands. Bliss.

I heard some rustling. Something beside me moved. I opened one eye a little, just enough so I could make out what was going on - Will had got out of his bag. He walked away, just a few feet, and went behind a tree. I thought, disgusting as it was, he was probably going to pee. But then I heard voices.

“Hey,” it was another guy.

“Hi,” Will greeted him.

“Is she asleep?” the guy asked.

He sounded young, maybe somewhere in his twenties.

“Probably not,” Will sighed.

“Shame,” the guy sounded disappointed.

Will laughed a little, then the other guy joined in too.

I heard a few noises, bushes rustling, the two of them falling to the ground.

“Ow!” Will cried. “We can’t.” he sounded happy.

“Why not?” the other guy asked.

“You know why,” Will said.

He grunted as he got back to his feet.

The other guy apologised for hurting him and asked, “is there any chance I’ll get to see you tomorrow?”

“Hopefully.” Will answered. “I’m taking her to see Rochelle, but the long route, we should make it to the Stellop Pokémon Centre by tomorrow night, we’ll be in separate rooms, so…” he trailed off and there were more noises.

“Okay.” the other guy said, “I’ll see you tomorrow.” I heard him walk away

Will’s fuzzy shape returned to my half-open eye and I watched him climb back into his sleeping back. He rolled over to face away from me. I closed my eyes tight, pretending I hadn’t heard what I was certain I heard.

“Goodnight Kimi,” Will said.

I opened my eyes wide again and looked at him. I rolled over to face away from him too and closed my eyes again. I understood why he wanted to take the detour, it just seemed kinda odd that he didn’t tell me that that was the way we needed to go. He could’ve just lied to me and told me that we had to pass by there anyway. Instead, he made this whole show about keeping it from me but letting me know at the same time. Did he want me to suspect him of something?

It made me think - what was he really hiding?

i know that this thread has not been posted in for awhile but this is a good fan fic what happened?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sorry, I haven't been on the forums for a while and so didn't update. I'm only up to Chapter 05 on this forum but the other two forums this is on, it's up to Chapter 09. While finishing off chapter 09, I accidentally deleted all of the chapters and, combine that with exams over the past month, I didn't have time to post the next chapter.

However, Chapter 05 will get posted tonight.

Thanx Dark_Queen for drawing my attention back here because, to be perfectly honest, had you not posted asking what had happened, I probably would've forgotten to come back here to update.

Sorry for such a long delay and thanx everyone for being so patient.

There's just two small details I'd like to point out first:

1) This chapter has an itty bit of violence in it, but it's nothing really, just a slap and kick basically.
2) If you have any problems with homesexuality at all then you'd best stop reading this now.

Chapter 05 ~ Bad Seed

To be honest, I fell asleep soon after that. I had a weird dream though:

I was walking through some woods. All I could see beyond the trees was a tall tower with a red roof. There was a woman wearing a long black coat calling out for her son.

“Where are you?” she called. “Where are you?”

Suddenly, a man engulfed a shadow was behind her and the word “Viridian” came into my head.
Then I saw Mimi, wearing a wedding dress, and she gave me a golden rod.

“Do you have the key?” she asked me and then turned away.

I saw Will and a man made of darkness hiding behind a tree.

“She doesn’t know.” They laughed. “She’ll never know!”

I looked down at the ground. It was glass. I could see the core of the earth.

“She returns.” the young voice said.

I looked up and saw a flash of something green and white.

“The sky.” a woman with spiked brown hair said.

I looked up to the clear blue sky. Thunder cracked it in two, turning it red. I saw angry eyes staring down at me. They weren’t the same as before. These belonged to a person.

“Are you ready?” Gardevoir asked.

“What?” I turned to face her.

She said nothing and floated away towards the tower.

“She returns.” Gardevoir said. “Are you ready? Can you stop him in time?”

I turned again only to see Will.

“Good morning!” he smiled down at me.

That was all I could remember of the dream. When I woke up, there was my new “friend” smiling at me, asking me if I wanted breakfast.
We ate, packed away our things and carried on. We walked for ages through thick trees. And they were growing thicker. We were squeezing our way through them, in-between them. There was one we had to climb over just to get to the other side of.

“This,” I huffed as I hopped down from the big tree, “will not do!”

“Yeah,” Will agreed.

He reached into his bag and pulled out a small orb. He pressed the button to enlarge it and tossed it into the air.
The energy released formed a sphere at first, the curled down to make a body and spiralled outwards to make long tentacles, which spun rapidly to keep the Pokémon in the air.
It’s head was green, speckled with dark spots, with a lovely set of very sharp, very pointy teeth. It’s body, yellow and also speckled, and two large ragged leaves growing out of it that acted as hands. From this yellow sphere sprouted the tentacles, coming in red and green, which helped it to hover.
It looked quite like a flytrap. A flying flytrap no less. Deeply worrying.

“Carnivine, use Cut to clear a path!” Will commanded his Pokémon.

Carnivine said nothing but, using his leaf hands and teeth, chopped down the trees and led us through the woods. Before long, we were out of the thick green and into a field.
There was small white flowers all over the place, with a house situated right in the middle. It was shaped like a giant dome, made purely of glass, with the top being a cone-shaped red roof. It reminded me of an ice-cream cone stuck upside-down. On the double-doors leading in, and out, was a giant ‘P’.
Inside, there were people wandering about, moving between the exposed downstairs area to the upstairs area hidden by the red. There also appeared to be some kind of a basement too, but no-one appeared to be going down there.

Will walked through the flowers to reach the door whereas I walked around them.

Inside I could see everything much clearer: at the front section, there were rows and rows of chairs sitting connected by metal frames on a white tiled floor. Many trainers, of various type, age and gender, and their Pokémon wandered around, talking and playing with their Pokémon. There was a large square desk in the middle of the room, with various computers and screens and men and women in lab coats. People were handing over PokéBalls and the doctors were transporting them to a back room where they would be cared for.
A long time ago, the women who used to run the centres single-handedly, transferred command of there offices to a woman named Sam DeAmbos. She allowed people, other than the traditional Joy family, to work in the Centres. The Joy family still do nursing and such, just with help.
Miss DeAmbos died shortly after her son went missing during the destruction of Team Rocket. All of Goldenrod City was in a panic when it happened. It was during rush-hour when two trainers, one of them the Water Master and the other CC Queen, destroyed the Rocket HQ with the help of someone on the inside.
With the base under siege, the remaining Rockets swarmed over goldenrod, destroying everything. Miss DeAmbos was not in the City at the time, she was at a Conference in Lilycove. Her baby boy was in the care of their maid. Their bodies were never found so, naturally, everyone assumed they died.
Had he lived, he’d be twenty this year. So sad to think about…

“Yes, we’ll take good care of them,” a male voice said.

I turned my attention back to the room. Will was handing over four PokéBalls to one of the doctors.

“Be especially careful with this one.” He motioned to a pink ball. “She’s my baby.”

I was quite touched to see he had a sensitive side to him. But the did not dismiss my suspicions.

“Miss?” the doctor asked me. “Will you be turning in your Pokémon too?”

It took me a minute to realise what he’d asked, but then I nodded and handed over my PokéBalls.
It was then that I realised that I still had Mimi’s, all except Piki, who’d been kidnapped along with her. I debated on whether or not to hand them over but eventually decided against it. I thought it best to just keep them with me for now. Especially seeing since one of them, a certain Wigglytuff, likes to escape from time to time.

“There are rooms upstairs for you to rest in,” the doctor said.

“Thank you,” Will nodded and headed towards the back left corner of the centre.

Back here, beyond the big desk, there were several doors leading to the back rooms where the Pokémon were kept. We were headed for a large set of red carpeted stairs, showing a more home-like touch compared to the tiled ground floor.
I followed Will upstairs until he wandered into an empty room. Just as I was about to enter, he slammed the door on my face.

“Hey!” I cried out and jumped back.

He opened the door, poked out his head and said, “Sorry, I really don’t wanna share a room with you, no offence, you’re just not my type.” Then he slammed the door again.

I said nothing as I understood, I didn’t particularly wanna share a room with him either. I went down the corridor a few doors until I found an empty room at the end of the hall.
I closed the door as I went inside quietly. The carpet was red, identical to the one in the hall. There was a simple wooden bed with plain white sheets. A small table covered in a white cloth sat on one side of the bed, on the other was a small radiator under a window overlooking the flower gardens around the centre.
I sighed and sat on the bed. I pulled out my sister’s PokéBalls and stared at them for a long time, thinking about how I could get her back.

Will seemed genuine in his offer to help, especially since he told me of Rochelle who apparently has “connections”. But, why stop here? Why had he brought me here? What was with the detour? Who was the man he met with last night?
Then I remembered that they said they’d meet again tonight, here at this Pokémon centre. I decided to keep an eye out for him and follow him wherever he went.

Before long, it was dark. I had opened the door and was peeking out of it every time I heard a noise. Nine times out of ten, it was just a trainer or a doctor or the occasional pink egg Pokémon. The first time I saw one of the Chansey here, I thought it was Wigglytuff and she had escaped. In my determination not to lose her, I chased the Chansey down the hall and one of the nurses stopped me. I apologised and returned to me waiting place.
I kept thinking, what if he had left while I was preoccupied with the Chansey/Wigglytuff chasing? What if I had missed my chance to catch him out altogether?

A noise!

I poked my head around the door and looked out into the hall. I couldn’t believe what a saw - a white squirrel with pink stripes, Piki! It had to be! Shiny Pokémon like that cannot be that common!
I jumped to my feet and ran for the electric squirrel. As I was running, Will came out of his room and I slammed into him.

“Sorry!” I said and shook myself off.

Will shook his head and asked, “where are you rushing off to?”

I really did not want to tell him, fearing that he may have something to do with the disappearance of my sister.

“Oh, I, uh, saw a…” I thought for a moment, “a, a, a Pokémon! Yeah! Outside, one I’ve been wanting for ages!” I lied, technically. “What about you?” I asked.

“Oh, um…” he looked at the ground and paused, “I’m, uh, going to, erm, check up on my Pokémon,” he smiled at me.

I guessed he was lying. He was probably off to meet that mysterious man.

We said nothing and continued on our own paths, parting ways as we exited the centre.

I caught a glimpse of white run into the woods. I gave chase. I jumped over tree stumps, bushes, logs, all kinds of things as I followed the Pachirisu.
Piki led me into a clearing, one with a tall tree in the middle. It was surrounded by a ring of blue roses.

“Where?” I asked the tree.

I was honestly surprised to not get an answer.

I walked around the tree, staring it up and down. I looked over behind it, towards the trees, and saw Piki. It was sitting on top of dying tree stump.

“Why did you bring me here?” I asked it.

She simply stared at me.

“That doesn’t belong to you!” a woman shouted.

There was a huge gust of wind and Piki was blown away, fading into the trees like she’d never existed.

“Who’s there?” I called out as I spun around.

“My son!” she screamed. “Why did you take him away?” she wailed.

More wind, rain too this time, heavy, thunder clapping, noise, noise, noise!

“My head,” I clutched my head, “it hurts! No, no, no, not again, not again, pain, no, please, stop!” I screamed.

I fell to the ground, seeing nothing but darkness. Everything slowly came back into focus.
I looked up and saw legs, bound tightly by black leather, completed by the black coat which danced freely round the ankles. The legs were thin, probably belonging to a woman.
I looked further up to her black chest with a big ‘R’ splattered across it.
The woman herself wore black shades and had short purple hair.

“Where is my son?” she asked slowly.

I got to my feet. My short green skirt and top were all dirty and wet. I’d need to change them as soon I got back. I noticed that the woman was taller than me.

“Where is he?” she grabbed my arm.

“Ow!” I cried out.

“Oh, please!” she slapped me.

I began to cry.

“Stop with the tears you little runt and answer my question!” she commanded. “What the hell have you done with my son? Tell me now!”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” I sobbed.

“Don’t lie to me!” she slapped me again, harder this time.

I fell to the ground and stared up at her. I couldn’t see her face clearly, my eyes were all wet with tears.

“You tell me what you’ve done with him right now!” she said, towering over me.

I said nothing and stared at her.

“Fine! Be that way!” she yelled. “But, let me tell you this: if you ever, ever touch him again, you will wish you’d never been born!” she kicked me.

I fell onto my back, slamming into the wet grass hard.

She grabbed me by the throat and snarled, “you twisted him, poisoned his mind, he was pure, so beautiful and pure, until you came along!”

She shoved me back onto the grass.

“You filth!” she spat on my face. “You are disgusting!”

Then, along with the rain and the wind and the thunder, she was gone.

I rose to my feet, slowly, and made my way back to the Pokémon centre. As I cleared the woods, I saw Will and that guy again, they were sitting, talking, in one of the flower gardens.
The new guy, he was wearing blue jeans, a plain black t-shirt and a beige coat. He had short curly black hair and a small beard to match.
I got close enough to hear their conversation:

“So, um, what did that girl say about you leaving?” the other guy asked.

“I told her I was checking on my Pokémon.” Will replied. “She was heading off somewhere too, lied to me about it too, but…” he looked at the ground and picked up one of the flowers.

“What?” the other guy looked concerned.

“I feel bad, for lying to her about this, making her stop here just so that we can…” he paused again and his eyes filled with tears.

“No, ssh…” the other guy held Will’s head and kissed him.

Okay…unexpected. Maybe he’s not a bad guy after all…

I thought on that for a moment and decided to leave them in peace to do…whatever it was they wanted to do.

I walked quietly back into the centre, which was almost completely deserted except for a few night staff. I wandered up to my room at the end of the hall and changed into a pink silky nightgown. I climbed into bed and fell asleep instantly.

I was way too tired to think on what had happened. I’d deal with it in the morning...
