I have to do a science fair project on rocks. The idea is due tomorrow and I need one! Please help!

P.S. I am in the 5th grade.

Show your class how to smash rocks with other rocks...:/ Rocks are lame. I guess you could describe what makes up a planet or an astroid but thats about as far as rocks go.

For coal you could tell people how coal is formed and then used in our daily lives.
For Gemstones you could also explain how they are formed.

We don't have science fairs in Australia, or just at any of the schools I've been at.

Well, we have to make it a question, with a hypothesis and all that, so I don't see how I could do that.

You can do a science fair about the rock cycle. I'll update this post about it if you want me to.

Question: What is Coal? How does it help us? Where is it found?
Hypothesis : I think coal is made from etc etc etc and and is formed over etc tetc etc years. I think coal has the minerals etc etc etc in it, and is found underground.
Results: It turns out Coal is made from etc etc etc and is found in certain places.

Just do something like that.

YOU IZZ A LIAR! XD

Rocks... well... Rock! Try doing a project on how oddly colored gems form! (ex, a blue rubie)(yes, there really is such a thing)

Here. I'll get you started: Gemstones turn a different color than normal, because sometimes, gas seeps into the stone, and causes an imperfection. This causes the stone to change color because: ...

continue from there. PM me if you need help, or get stuck! :D

EDIT: Take that -_- out of your title! It's insulting to me! :p

Question: Why does Foxtrot think rocks are lame?
Hypothesis: Foxtrot doesn't know any of the many interesting facts about rocks.
Like... how some look different than others. Or... Granite looks nice.

Conclusion: Rocks are not lame.

^ Or that Pumice is the only rock that floats in water. :D

Agreement: Rocks are not lame!

Another idea for the project would be why Opals change color when you look at them differently. :D

Or just write a DIY pamphlet on how to install granite countertops.
I bet all of the judges at your science fair are remodeling their kitchens, so you just throw that down there, and you win for sure.

Good old paper mache volcanoe modles with baking soda and vinegour or thats what you americans do right. In England we don't have science fairs!
