Pokémon (14):

  • 3 Tapu Lele GX (beatdown)
  • 3 Tauros GX (beatdown)
  • 1 Garbodor (disruption)
  • 3 Garbodor (beatdown)
  • 4 Trubbish (evolution)
Trainer (34):
  • 4 Professor Sycamore (draw)
  • 1 Hex Maniac (control)
  • 1 Delinquent (control)
  • 2 Lysandre (control)
  • 1 Bridgette (search)
  • 3 N (draw)
  • 1 Rescue Stretcher (retrieval)
  • 3 Float Stone (free retreat)
  • 4 Choice Band (beatdown)
  • 2 Field Blower (control)
  • 1 Super Rod (retreival)
  • 4 Vs Seeker (retrieval)
  • 4 Ultra Ball (search)
  • 3 Altar of the Moone (retreat)
Energy (12):
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
  • 8 Psychic Energy

STRATEGY:

Start with Tauros GX and use Ultra Ball to search for Tapu Lele GX to set up. Attack with Tapu Lele GX and Tauros GX until the opponent discarded seven item cards. At that time clean the battle field with Garbodor. Tauros GX and Tapu Lele GX pressure the opponent to ensure that items have to be used to overcome them.

Hi jessalakasam,

Thanks for the review. Wanted a second Field Blower but could not fit it in. A second Delinquent did not seem to be needed since the deck draws rather well and Tapu Lele GX can access it with ease. I am considering to cut either Mimikyu or Drampa GX for a second Field Blower mainly to handle tools. The main idea of the deck is to cycle between Tapu Lele GX and Wobbuffet to draw the first few prizes until the opponent burned a sufficient amount of tools for Garbodor to take over. Seven to eight item cards in the discard will be sufficient on usual with Choice Band and a tech Professor Kukui to ohko HP 210 Pokémon in one hit. The trick is not to have more than two GX attackers on the field each turn to ensure the deck has an advantage in the prize race and cannot be out-played that easy. What is your thought on these considerations?

Hi folks,

Modified the deck a little to include a second Field Blower to boost Garbodor and to include Bridgette as a means to obtain most Basics other than Tapu Lele GX and thin the deck at the same time.

Hi triplemo,

Thanks for the review. Not sure on taking Fighting Fury Belt out since Tauros GX is much less of a threat without it and the opponent only has a limited number of Field Blower. Garodor with Garbotoxin would require me to run Float Stone. Without a tool attached he does not do much. It would also be redundant to wobbuffet. However i will consider to work with the tool mix and check out a fourth Trubbish and Garbodor with Garbotoxin instead of them.

I like the idea behind the deck a lot. I would take out one belt and one other card (maybe lele i feel like three is a bit much) and add in the new trevenant for if your opponent tries to hold items in their hand plus it deals good damage for a dce.

I kind of think you should dump the eco arm + delinquent altogether. People are going overboard on the potential impact Field Blower is going to have on your tools. I play a ton of expanded where Tool Scrapper is a thing. Field Blower is nothing more than an upgraded Tool Scrapper. Most decks in expanded only run one copy of Tool Scrapper (or Startling Megaphone or Xerosic) and the expanded decks are way nastier than anything standard brings to the table. I say this because I think you will see Field Blower as a 2 of at most meaning if you have 6 tools, the chances of your opponent actually blowing away 4 of them are pretty slim. They won't 100% stick, but they aren't going to be in the amount of jeopardy everyone seems to think they will be in.

As for the delinquent, I would probably replace it with a Team Flare Grunt if you are that interested in control. There are a bunch of other things I would consider as well, but nothing hurts 85-90% of the decks out there more than losing an energy off the active pokemon. I think you will find that you use neither Delinquent nor Team Flare Grunt as often as you would like in this particular list though since the list virtually screams "beat them down asap" rather than control.

Hi Mightyena,

Thanks for the review. Would rather stick to one evolution line in total. A 1-1 tech line is real inconsistent and the deck is intended to be a fast beatdown deck that wins the prize race with Garbodor. still not entire pleased with the list and testing out small modifications.

Hi Fayld,

Thanks for the review. I have to agree with the main argument. The deck is a fast beatdown deck that appempt to press the opponent to invest resources to overcome the first assault of the Pokémon GX to fuel Garbodor.

I am not that scared about Field Blower. There were two reasons for the inclusion of Eco Arm: (1) to have an item recovery means in the mirror match. (2) The deck had a free slot.

Delinquent worked well. Team Flare Grunt does not seem to be needed and I prefer Delinquent over it to potentially discard a few item cards from the opponent's hand or at least lure them to refresh it and either use their remaining items or discard them.

However Eco Arm has not been used much thus far. For that reason I consider to replace it with another item card. Will look into either a second Rescue Stretcher or Super Rod or Repeat Ball to access Tapu Lele GX faster. Not sure which one would be better. Included Repeat Ball in the list above as a start but would be open to other advises.

Ha. Don't get me wrong. I think you should dump the delinquent and replace it with something else altogether (like another field blower). I was more saying that flare grunt provides some great control. If it were me, I wouldn't try to tech in the control though (beyond maybe something like a Hex Maniac). I mean, I guess you could use Delinquent to hope your opponent top decks an item and is forced to use it. I just think I might even prefer a 4th Trubbish + 4th Garbodor over Eco Arm + Delinquent. Maybe 1 Super Rod or Brock's Grit just to recover some energy / pokemon should you need to do so. Basically, what I (poorly) expressed was a desire to remove the control aspect because I don't think it helps much here :)

Hi Fayld,

Thanks for the review. Now I do get what you proposed to do. I considered to remove both Wobbuffet for a fourth Trubbish and Garbodor BKP. It works well in my Drampa GX version but in this build I have issues to fit in Float Stones in a manner that works well with how I use the deck. That was the main reason why I restrained from doing so thus far. The main idea of Delinquent is to discard cars from their hand and reduce the options available to them. I do not care what is discarded as long as it lures the opponent to maintain momentum and either use of discard items to stay in the game as long as they are unable to overrun me with their speed. In case a deck would be able to overrun me Delinquent could be used to slightly slow them down. Hope this makes some sense.
