Strategy:
Disrupt your opponent early in the game with Cyrus' Initiative and Judge by using Impersonate, and then snipe your opponent's board with Garchomp C Lv.X.

I think SableLock is a great deck, but I don't like it because if it doesn't start with Sableye it's very difficult for him to win, especially against SP decks.
And against decks with a solid deck list he doesn't make the lock.
There is a new deck list, ChenLock, but I think is worse than this.

Chenlock, for those who doesn't know what that is - features Blaziken FB Lv.X instead of Honchkrow, is a more aggressive kind of deck with more disruptive options.

Will have a thread up for this, or should I keep the two variants (Honchkrow SV and Blaziken FB Lv.X) inside the same thread?

Thoughts?

Keep it in one thread IMO. You can list all the techs the deck can play for easy reference.

Well, I've heard people actually use Blaziken instead of Garchomp, not Honchkrow. I think the Blaziken tech was more oriented for last format as a way to KO claydol while shutting off cosmic power.

James, if I recall reading from other places, Blaziken FB is still needed for MD-on format to bait out Vileplumes... and have them await death.

The Murkrow isn't a huge loss. The SV one will probably be used instead. I know some people used it even before the rotation.

It's good, but with Luxray and his Bright Look or Garchomp and his Dragon Rush I don't think it's a great idea waiting a turn for evolve your Murkrow... bah, however I don't like SableLock. If he doesn't start with Sableye, it probably loses.

^ Why would you need Honchcrow against Luxchomp. Its not as good as your counters for the luxchomp matchup.

I have a feeling that Sableyelock specifically will have trouble in the up-coming format as people will be playing alot more consistency cards like CC and PONT that makes it easier to draw out of a judge or have more things than they can init. away.

Not only that, but it would take two turns to charge up anyway. The SW Murkrow doesn't make a difference in the rotation, leave it at that lol.

In theorymon he could have with the SW murkrow play it down, evolve immediately, drop a dark and then bronzong a DCE and then retreat into your charged honchcrow.

But that is theorymon and most of the time it wont work out like that.

And most lists don't play Bronzong G (I'd almost say only 1%). So yeah, there goes theorymon out the window.

i guess the main reason of not throwing in a bronzong G is to ensure a disruptive start with either honchkrow or sableye

^ I know that, I just feel that I could move around those darkness energies stuck on the honchcrow to garchomps or to a sabeleye or even a uxie.

Hey, there's an error in the list. It says Murkrow and Honchkrow in SF. And also, I would like to know how this actually locks.

The original deck list was based around Cyrus's Initiative/ Judge to whittle away your opponent's hand. Combined with a Sableye start and Crobat G's to donk as much as possible.
