Does discarding a Fire Energy using Volcanion-EX's Steam Up ability allow me to draw a card from my deck if Scorched Earth is in play? Or would I have to discard one Fire Energy to use Steam Up, and then an additional energy to utilize the Scorched Earth? Thanks very much!
 
They are two separate effects that must be triggered separately. Activating one does not activate the other.
