Seismitoad Hammer Time (Seismitoad EX / Garbodor)

Pokemon:

  • 4x Seismitoad EX
    2x Trubbish
    2x Garbodor (Garbotoxin)
    1x Mewtwo EX
    2x Reshiram
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:

  • 4x Professor Sycamore
    4x N
    1x Lysandre's Trump Card
    1x Skyla
    2x Lysandre
    1x Colress
    1x Pokemon Center Lady
    4x Hypnotoxic Laser
    2x Virbank City Gym
    2x Float Stone
    4x Muscle Band
    2x Ultra Ball
    1x Crushing Hammer
    2x Enhanced Hammer
    1x Startling Megaphone
    1x Computer Search
    2x VS Seeker
    2x Head Ringer
Energy:

  • 4x DCE
    8x Water Energy

Strategy:

Well what I plan to do with this is set up toad with muscleband, hypnotoxic laser and just knock for 80 damage per turn. Garbador will disable abilities and quaking punch will deny items while hammers do energy. It will be a slow attrition game and scoop up will deny opponents prizes. Hypnotoxic can be recycled with LTC and I just plan to grind my opponents down.
This is a first draft and any help would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Seismitoad deck, Hammer time?

I might add one or two vs seeker cause it can get trump card back or another supporter if you need it.

RE: Seismitoad deck, Hammer time?

Might wanna add in an attacker like Mewtwo Ex, some Head Ringers, maybe a Shadow Triad and a Team Flare Grunt or Pokecenter Lady.

Could drop the scoop ups and a line of garbodor, and one or two water energy

RE: Seismitoad deck, Hammer time?

You may want to consider a secondary attacker unless you can flip A LOT of heads...

RE: Seismitoad deck, Hammer time?

Ahh, thanks for the tips, definitely going for the headringers, and the Pokemon centre lady is an interesting choice.
What secondary attacker would go well in this deck? Mewteo EX? Not to sure what else...
Will drop the third line of garbodor, add vs seeker x2, drop a sycamore and a N. Add headringer x2
Really big help guys,

PCL (I also sometimes use Cassius too) is an excellent way remove a status condition, as well as some damage in order to maintain an attack or heal one of your damaged benched Poke that your opponent might target.

Given the current makeup of your deck, I would suggest you consider:

  • Reshiram (Outrage). I've found this Poke to be an excellent alternative attacker, as well as a solid counter to VirGen and MetalBox decks. If your opponent can not 1HKO this Poke, Reshiram's Outrage attack can be absolutely menacing.
  • Charizard EX (Wing Attack). Not a great starter and a 2-prize target, but 'Zard can definitely provide solid support in the VirGen and MetalBox deck match-ups too.
  • Kyurem (PLF). Still one of the best attackers in the game, IMO. For a non-EX Basic Poke, its HP is above average and it has excellent attacks. I've found Frost Spear to be so good to get certain opponents' Poke into range for a next-turn KO and this reduces your reliance upon your utilizing Ht Laser to KO an opponent's Poke. Also, don't forget that your opponent could also Item-lock you too. And don't forget that a potential Blizzard Burn is something opponents need to consider...
IMO, following are some recommended deck changes:

  • -1 Mewtwo EX. Remaining 1 should be sufficient.
-1 Jirachi EX. Granted JEX can get you out of a bind during Supporter draught, but it remains a HUGE 2-prize target. Plus, with some improved card-draw (you currently only have 6 card-draw Supporters which is woefully insufficient), reliance upon JEX can be reduced significantly.

-1 Lysandre's Trump card. Remaining 1 should be sufficient.
-1 Skyla. Remaining 1 should be sufficient, especially after adding more card-draw support.
-1 Virbank City Gym. Remaining 2 should be sufficient.
-1 Float Stone. Remaining 2 should be sufficient.
-2 Crushing Hammer. Sacrificed for "higher" priority. Plus, you have a 50% of it failing...
-2 Scoop Up. Sacrificed for "higher" priorities.

    +2 Reshiram (Outrage).
    +1 Kyurem (PLF).

    +1 P. Sycamore. More card-draw support.
    +1 N. More card-draw support.
    +1 Colress. More card-draw support.
+2 Lysandre. Absolutely critical to gust up an opponent's benched Poke for several tactical or strategic reasons.
+2 VS Seeker. Absolutely critical in recovering and reusing discarded Supporters.
I hope you find these comments helpful.

Cheers!
I have changed a fair few bits now based on your suggestions. I think this deck looks good for playtest now. There are a few sets of cards that I am looking to include.
Switches- To move Garbodor out, remove status conditions and maybe jiggle the energy and hammers about as well just to see how it fits my playstyle.
