Strategy:

Hi PB, this is my second decklist I have posted. Here is a shiftry flashfire deck where the main goal is to get as many pokemon on the bench as possible to power up Shiftry’s attack deranged dance which does 20 damage times the number of benched pokemon. Shiftry also has the ability leaf draw where you can discard a grass energy from your hand and draw 3 cards.

If you have any suggestions on making this deck better please tell me, it is much appreciated. Also if you don’t understand the reasoning for a card than please do ask.

I think that it will be really hard for you to get shiftry, you could add some wally's or Evo Soda's. Why do you use the miltank?
And cards like paintroller and parallel city will counter this deck.
I think:

-2 energy recyclers
+2 Evo Soda

Faced a deck that ran similar to this and it was a huge pain (and he also got Shiftry out first turn so (at least if you build it right) Shiftry can get out super quick). I do think you could replace the robo subs for something better. The deck I mentioned used Ariados AOS and Sceptile EX instead as an alternative option in case of the aforementioned parallel city counter to reduce bench size (if you are unfamiliar Ariados has an ability which poisons both actives unless the active is a grass type, and Sceptile EX has an attack for 1G 1C that deals 60 + another 70 if the opponent is affected by a special condition). Alternatively you could put in a Crobat line as a way to add up damage when you get cards out. If you do stay with robo sub, I would be worried about something like Primal Kyogre, that can destroy your bench in 1 or 2 hits. Mountain Ring is an option, but then you are running 3 different stadiums, which I think is a bit excessive, even if you do run just 1.

First I want to inform you that I run energy recyclers to get energy back I used from leaf draw Shiftry's ability. I also want to ask you why you said to take out energy recyclers and now if you hadn't figured out what I said above if there is in your opinion a better card to take out other than energy recycler. Next, I run miltank because of it's attack powerful friends which for 1 colorless energy does 10 damage plus 70 more if you have a stage 2 in play. In other words it's a good alternative attacker for light energy since after all Deranged Dance takes 3 energy. Thanks for the help.

First, I don't want to run Mountain Ring because I feel that Forest of giant plants and skyfield are more important like you said it is a bit excessive. If I do find bench damage to be a problem than I will run the new Mr. Mime from breakthrough. By the way Primal Kyogre does 30 damage to benched EX pokemon so it would take four turns to knock out a Shaymin EX (Assuming it benched all four turns.) which is my only EX in the deck.

Second, I thought about Airados in a 2-2 line but, I decided against it because this deck can easily do 200 damage with 2 full benches. However, since Parallel City was mentioned if both players have a full bench Deranged Dance does 160 and with poison 170 a magic number. I also like the alternate attacker of Sceptile EX since it can one shot Primal Kyogre and Groudon with weakness. I would want to run a 2-2 line for Airados incase it or Spinarak is prized. How many Sceptile do you suggest I play 1 or 2. Finally, what do you suggest I take out other than Robo Sub.(I would like to keep Miltank)

Thanks for all the help.

Ah, I didn't realize they (more or less) reprinted Bench Barrier Mime. That was going to be my original suggestion but then I realized the old one was out of rotation. Since you are going to take out robo sub the Mime really isn't useful though. If you can I would run 2 Sceptile, it will make it easier to fill up your bench and give you more consistancy, but if you feel there aren't any cards you want to take out for a 2nd, 1 will do.

As for what to take out, I honestly think you have to take out Miltank. I understand why you would want to keep it, but I feel Sceptile does Miltank's job but better. Yes it will take 2 turns to power up, but it has more HP, and you aren't stuck dealing 10 damage if you start with just Miltank and for whatever reason can't get Shiftry out. Another card that you should take out would be Hex Maniac. Hex Maniac I feel is too situational. You are only removing the abilities for 1 turn, so there won't be much of an effect, and it isn't like you need that 1 turn to get through Pyroar or Suciune. You are also using up your supporter for the turn. That would allow you to run the 2-2 line plus 1 Sceptile. The card to take out for your second Sceptile is personal preference. I would look at Xerosic, Escape Rope, VS Seeker, or DCE (or you could stay at 1 Sceptile).

One extra consideration would be to go with Fisherman, Energy Retrieval, or Superior Energy Retrieval instead of the Energy Recycler. You only run 5 so the chances that all 5 are discarded at the same time is low, and you will be putting them back into your deck, so if you need the energy immediately you likely can't get it. If you run Fisherman you will only need 1 because of VS Seeker so you could get the 2nd Sceptile that way. Superior Energy Retrieval will also take 4 energy at the cost of discarding 2 cards instead of using your supporter for the turn. You could even consider running 4 Energy Retrieval and no Professor's Letter (or 3 and 1. Or run 4 and 2 or 3 and 3 and take something like Shaymin or VS Seeker or Sycamore out (or some combinations of those). There are many options). That way you can just discard to draw cards then instantly get it back with the Energy Retrieval to draw next turn (or keep drawing if you have multiple Shiftry out).

I play this deck a bunch in the last format. There are a few things that could change.

Skyfield isn't super great with ur deck as it is. You only have 6 basic pokemon along with 3 Robo subs. So if you full ur bench once and they counter your stadium. That's it.

Plant forest does help shiftry get out quicker. But that was never really a problem for shiftry. The main issue is not being able to charge them quickly enough. Mitotic does help with this. It may cost a prize. But it's usually worth it.

There are 2 ways I found to help with this problem. Additional attackers like miltank and raichu that only take 1 energy drop to charge.

Next is to use an energy accelerator. M Sceptile is probably the best bet. It can attach 1 grass to 2 different shiftry. Allowing for a single dce to attack.

Lastly you deck needs more grass energy. I used 1 letter, 2 energy retrieval, 7 grass and 4 dce. Even then sometimes I wouldn't have enough. Energy recycler isn't great for your deck. You only have 5 energy
So generally you will only shuffle in 1-2 energy. And then need to play a letter to get them out of ur deck.

I would also like to note that I thought about AZ and Super Scoop Up because Shaymin is an easy 2 prizes with a Lysandre.I would like to ask for your opionion on those cards in this deck and how I could still improve the list. Lastly, I want y'all to remember I am happy for any help you give or have given.

Be sure to update your original post with the changes you made to your deck list :)

But please keep the formatting in the OP the same. Thanks!
