Shipping (single) cards internationally

I wasn't sure where to make this thread, I wanted to make it in the trade or selling forum but it seemed like it'd get deleted immediately. So, I'll make it here. Basically my question is what is the cheapest/best way to ship cards internationally out of the USA. Hopefully someone can help me.

USPS will definitely be the cheapest option. Regular first class might take as long as a few weeks to get there (depending on the country and time of year), but even their faster options are usually cheaper than UPS, FedEx, and/or DHL, especially for something as small as a simple envelope. I've done quite a bit of international shipping through USPS and I've been pleased.

Do you still have to do customs for UPS, FedEx, and/or DHL?

Yes, you have to fill out customs forms for any international shipping, no matter what company does it. I do a lot of shipping through my job, so I've become accustomed to it. The forms aren't exactly identical between the different shipping companies, but they all require the same information.

I have not been required to fill out customs at post office.

I've always filled out customs forms for all international shipments except those containing only documents (UPS documentation still requires a customs form for documents, though you pretty much just click/check a box for "documents only" and everything else is ignored), no matter what company I send through. I've also received customs forms along with all international shipments I've received as well. It strikes me as odd to not do it, though for regular, lightweight envelopes (even those containing things other than documents), they may be exempt for one reason or another. Most of the shipping and receiving I do is for actual packages, so there could very well be differences.

I'll admit that it's improved quite a bit. Now that so much is handled electronically, customs forms are actually amazingly simpler now. There's still some jargon to know, but they pretty much make it so that you can't mess up (or at least you have to try pretty hard to). It's so much better than it used to be with the old manual forms in quadruplicate.

usps custom forms take like one or two minutes to do. they are pretty simple. i always use regular first class. it gets the job done lol

I always have to do customs forms for the post office. They're usually pretty easy though. Just a few minutes.

They have not asked for custom forms the last few times at the post office.
