Ruling Shock-Wave, Imprison Special Conditions?

Sorry if this has been already asked.
Are Shock-wave and Imprison special conditions?
Can they be stopped by GL Holon Energy?
I believe someone said WP Holon Energy could be used.

Imprison and Shock-wave markers are NOT Special Conditions. Special Conditions are: Asleep, Burned, Confused, Paralyzed, Poisoned.

Holon Energy GL will NOT stop Imprison markers or Shock-wave markers from being placed on your Pokémon.

Here's our EX Dragon Frontiers scan of Holon Energy WP:

I display this for reference purposes since it is different from its EX Delta Species counterpart. Holon Energy WP was errata'd last season; The effect for having Water Energy attached only stops effects of your opponent's attacks, rather than all effects in general.

Since the Shock-wave marker is put on your Pokémon by Tyranitar ex δ's attack, Holon Energy WP will stop it.

However, the Imprison marker is put on your Pokémon by Gardevoir ex δ's Poké-Power, so Holon Energy WP will not stop it (since Imprison is a power, not an attack).

Thank you for clearing up my confusion.
Is there another way to stop Tyranitar ex δ's attack or Gardevoir ex δ's Poké-Power?
I think I saw Tropius δ has a Poké-Power to remove the Shock-wave and Imprison, but are there any other ways to stop this?

Yes, Tropius δ will rid you of the markers. Don't forget that it cures Special Conditions too.

Anything with the Poké-Body "Safeguard" (immunity from Pokémon-ex) or anything with an attack that has Safeguard as an effect (like Deoxys ex) can stop Tyranitar ex δ's attack. That's about it...

As for Gardevoir ex δ, Lunatone from Legend Maker can stop each player's Fire Pokémon from using Poké-Powers if you have any Solrock card in play; that is one method. You can also attach Cessation Crystal to your Active Pokémon, and that will stop your opponent from using Imprison. Careful about that method, as it shuts off your powers too (as well as each player's Poké-Bodies, like Safeguard). Imprison breaks through Safeguard because it is a power, not an attack.

Thank you again.
(Sorry I'm trying to figure this out before we go to the next tournament.)

A couple of last question if you wouldn't mind please.
It sounds to me that either marker can be put on any Pokémon i.e. Bench or Active. Correct?
Could the markers be removed by retreating or evolving?
Or am I stuck unless I can play Tropius δ or something else?

Maan...that stinks:p

Correct, Shock-wave and Imprison markers can target anyone the attacker chooses.

I'm not sure if retreating or evolving would rid you of the markers. The old Char counters stayed, so maybe these do too. You'd have to get an official ruling on that one.

From the DF rulebook, page 2:

Special unique markers show up for the first time in this expansion. Gardevoir ex unleases a force that suppresses Poke-Powers and Poke-Bodies. Tyranitar ex puts a marker on a Pokemon and is almost sure to Knock Out the Pokemon in Tyranitar ex's next attack. In each case, these markers can only be removed by evolving or devolving the Pokemon that has the marker on it. These markers are not Special Conditions and can't be removed by cards that only remove Special Conditions.

So there you go.

Ah, sounds good. Haven't bought a DF theme deck yet. So, to clarify, retreating will NOT get rid of Imprison and Shock-wave markers.

Also, on a side note, anyone else think it's great that they list the deck's contents on the back of the box now? I think that's really helpful.

Yeah, no kidding. I hope they decide to stick with that once Diamond and Pearl release. They've done a pretty decent job giving different supporters as well, although the regular trainers are still the same (like who doesn't have Potions, Energy Searches, and Switches by now...)

But I could see a Tyranitar ex/Mew ex deck working out quite well. Mew delivers all of the counters, then switches out and Tyranitar goes on a killing spree. It'd have a LOT of ex Pokemon in it, but it has some potential.

yes, thats 1 method of getting t tar ex work well, but since ur'll electromark first, im afraid tropius δ wont allow u to do that..

Thank you very much, Pimpwalkin' Mateo Johnson and Alchemist_Almighty for all of the info.
I think I'm pretty clear on these new attack effects.
Tyranitar ex sounds pretty dangerous.
