Shots

Well, I got my shots today. 4 to be exact; 2 in one arm, 2 in the other. The 3 shot in my right arm hurt; it was for meningitis. My right arm is really hurting. I had to get these shots because I'm going to 7th grade/Junior High. Yes, I'm in 6th grade. Anyway, what is your perspective of shots?

Personaly I hate needles....but it gets the job done (Yes, every yr or 2 I get a flu shot).

I hat needles too, but I agree. *starts do jumping jacks* The nurse said if I "work out" more, it'll hurt less... or something like that.

Its not that bad. If you just relax, it will not hurt as much. Think about something else like Pokemon when they are about to give you a shot. THink also about what the diseases can do to you if you were to catch them. I think you would rather get a shot than get Polio for example.

Never hurts especially with St. Patty's day tommorrow.....wait wrong shots...ya, I hate needles.

I absolutely hate them and still cry when I get them. Unfortunately, they are necessary.

dmaster out.

I've never had the fear of needles that plagues many of my contemporaries. I mean, sure, they hurt, but not really that badly. However, I can understand why one would be afraid of them.

Chew your favorite flavor of gum while you get the shot, it distracts from the shot, I guess. I used to loathe them, and now they're not that bad.

I don't get how they're scary. It's just like you lightly pinching yourself.... I think that people cry more before before the shot than after. It doesn't really hurt.... at all. Some needles do hurt though. When I got 6, 4" needles jabbed into the roof of my mouth, that gave me a good reason to cry. I didn't of course. ^_^

I give shots a 1/10 (the same goes for the song)

I didn't have to get any shots going into grade 7 (I'm in grade 7 now) but last year in October I got what I think was the Hep. B shot. It hurt for 2 days, then it went back to normal.

I seriously think that working out would only strain it more, but whatever works for you.

EDIT: @JC: Ima edit what you said slightly to make it true:

It's just like you lightly pinching yourself

It doesn't really hurt.... but not that much

You must get drugged when getting your shots or something. When the needle pierces your skin, you get a pang. Pinching yourself is another time of pang. Lightly punching yourself...is unrelated.

I also don't get why parents make it sound scary. When I was little, my parents said that the doctor was giving my body medicine, and that it will me a little pokey. I was just fine. Other parents are like OMG JAKEY THERES A BIG SHARP SCARY NEEDLE THATS GOING TO STAB YOU, but don't worry it's nothing to worry about. Saying that will make them worry. -_-

I eat needles and shots for breakfast.
*bites a needle in half*

Nah, I don't really mind it. They are annoying, but its not to big of a problem. I am not super athletic, so I don't need them every other day. Lol.

It makes a difference if the person giving the shot, knows what they are doing.

Lol this is true. You just reminded me of when I saw one of the nurses next to me stab someone with the needle in the arm without warning, then asked if she was pregnant o.o

Yes, thats what they did to my brother -_______-
I personally don't care about shots.
The only one that hurt was a really big needle horizontally pushed halfway my foot because I needed the paralysis thingy for my toes.
Don't know how it's called :p

If it doesn't make me ill then that's fine with me, I hate them as well. The build up the night before gets to me the most; on the day it's not that bad.

I have only had one, the one you get when you go to Egypt and things.

Even back when I was 5, I still didn't cry over a shot. I might have been a little nervous, but that was about it.

They're not that big of a deal to me...but I don't get them that often. (I have had about 3 shots in the past 8 years or so)

I don't particularly care about getting shots. Needles aren't that big of a deal to me, but I still think that most of the flu shots are unnecessary. I got the H1N1 on Monday.

But on the other hand.....IVs omg I'll never donate blood. They hurt so much. :X

They can only make you sick if you have the immune system of wet paper.

They do also prevent worse illness.

So it kind of makes no sense.
