BW/BW2 Should I play B/W before B/W2?

I haven't played a 5th Gen yet, and while I really want to get into this generation as quickly as possible, I also don't want to miss anything important. Is it crucial that I play Black and White before Black and White 2, from both a story and gameplay perspective?

I think you'd have a better appreciation for B/W2 if you played B/W first!

It's to your advantage to play B/W before B/W2. It'll make more sense with the storyline!
