Ruling "Shuffling your hand into the deck..."

If a card says this, can you have no cards in your hand and still perform what the rest of cad says? Say if it was a pre-requisite?

If a card says to shuffle your hand into your deck, you still shuffle your hand into the deck. You are adding a hand of zero to the deck and are still required to shuffle. If a card states that you must have at least one card in your hand, then you could not perform that action.~Mark
