So these games will be released worldwide in October. With this the case, could we see the TV show and the TCG have simultaneous releases as well? The only reason they have ever been delayed is because the games have had a gap between the Japanese and international releases, meaning the things that promote the games (the TV show, the movies, the card sets) have had to be delayed as well. But will that all change now? What do you think?

I think the simultaneous release is just for the video games. They would have to air a HUGE marathon on Cartoon Network and TV Tokyo just to get both series finished at the same time. It wouldn't work for the TCG because countries other than Japan would have no time to speculate and plan on what is good, what is bad, what to buy, ect.

On the TCG they may combine some sets to short the period. I think they will eventually do it but it will take a long time (around a year) for it to be done. The anime can be cut in Japan for a week or something like that and/or in the rest of the World, they may air 2 episodes per week or skip some filler episodes.

I can see it working on the everything but the tv show due to how far apart they are, but only in the video games will it happen. We are behind on genesect of Godspeed but that could easily change. We are also behind on the TCG so unless we get mass spam of cards it will only be video games.

I also think it will be only the games. There are also possibility that new trading cards can be rolled out based on the 6th Generation. Again, that depends on the marketing and production group

At the moment, only the games. But I do think they will be working toward being at the same place across the board in the future.

Oh man, I would love a simultaneous TCG release. Just think about the increase in Pre-release sales! I'm tired of having the entire set spoiled and tested before we even get our hands on the cards. Imagine secret rares, actually being a secret. Imagine having a meta where everything isn't instantly defined by how well a deck did in Japan. Imagine having tons and tons of new deck ideas in a tournament where people are testing out new things, because they don't know what's really good yet.

This may be the beginning of a One World Market System & Government...haha just kidding but I do really like the fact that these games are going to be released in the same month worldwide, would have sucked to wait all the way until March 2014 for a US release. I can only imagine it's Pokemon's high popularity for this to take place, but hopefully other game companies follow GameFreak's footsteps.

For the time being, just the video games. Maybe they will eventually do this with the others. But as others stated, right now it's very difficult. Especially concerning TV, it would be impossible.

Frankly, I don't even care.

What matters is that this is done for all upcoming main games ;)

Unless there is a break for the Japanese anime for a few months, in which America catches up. Although I don't see the problem with the anime in the U.S starting a few months into the games release.

A simultaneous TCG release would be awesome. I would love to actually be surprised on the stuff I get rather than knowing whats coming out and whats gonna be good. I don't know what that would mean for Japanese sets thought since they usually release two at a time and they are small sets. I think it would be awesome though.

It's time for this to happen with everything (definitely Pokemon related and even other things as well).

I'm tired of waiting for things six months+ later and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Translating in the past years has been an archaic system. We're in the 21st Century for crying out loud. I really hope that this spreads to the other Pokemon merchandise and such.

dmaster out.

I think that everyone is at least expecting all future games (especially the main ones) to be released everywhere at the same time now. I'm guess they are going to do the same with anything else relating to X and Y, like the cards.

I don't really care about the implications for the other Pokemon media, just the games. As long as future game release dates remain within a reasonable range, I don't care. I just don't want them to go back to the point where the rest of the world has to wait a ridiculous amount of time after Japan.

Same here. I really only care for the main games but if the other titles like PMD and Ranger get the same treatment as XY, I'd expect them to get the games at the same time too.

Nothing would make me happier than to see the Anime be released in the U.S. at the same time it's released in Japan/UK. One thing is certain, it would sure bring a whole lot more synergy to the Anime forums when we are all seeing/discussing the episode for the first time, at the same time. I think it's awesome that they are releasing the games simultaneously, but it's obviously different for the games because the metagame can be discussed for years after the initial release. It would make sense to simultaneously release the Anime seeing as there isn't a whole lot left to prevent them from doing so. For some reason, my gut tells me that this isn't going to be the case, but I sure hope I'm wrong.

Although it would be cool for the anime to get released at the same time it probably won't, It would take a lot of work, and it would mean either the people working on localizing the show would have to work very hard to catch up quickly, or the Japanese anime takes a break. TCG getting released at the same time would actually be pretty awesome, and its seems likely too. I would also like the side games to be released worldwide as well, and it looks like it probably will.

I hope this happens with the card games so people can't say stuff like "Garchomp Altaria will be the best deck in format because it is dominating in Japan."

I suspect the simultaneous release is because of some online function that would benefit from having everyone on at once. Reading too much into the news? With pride.
