Single Game Play

OK, tournaments in The Netherlands are usually with games that are best-of-three, both in swiss and KO rounds. However, for the Dutch Nationals, it will be single game in elimination.

Now enlighten me. If you use a T2 deck, wouldn't the odds of winning a Single Game match be the SAME as the odds of winning a best-of-three match? People claim that a fast deck will now win easier as the slow decks that are competive because of the single game mechanic. I call bull on that one because the Turn 2 decks can win anyway, be it single game or not because they can pull the T2 in the second game as well.

I honestly hate Single Game Elimination.

You can drive 2+ Hours; just too maybe even play once!

That ridiculous.

Yup, T2 decks will be just as effective if you ask me.
The only difference is that consistent decks will get higher this time. And as far as I know, some T2 decks can be very inconsisten.
I also live in the Netherlands and I quite understand why they play best of three mostly, cuz it sometimes saves people with just plain bad luck. At nationals, there will probably be less time for long matches so the single elimination is inevitable.
Btw, see you soon at the nats next week. ^^

Which division are you in SA?

And I didnt mean Single Game ELIMINATION Andy. I meant Single Game matches for the Swiss.

Why would it matter how fast the deck is? You always play a deck for ONE MATCH anyways. It doesn't matter how many matches there are in the round, since each game is a SINGLE MATCH. So in other words you play three one matches, and you could just as well take one of the three and put it in this situation with any deck.

Just make sure you're deck is flat out good and you're fine.

^ ??? I'm born October 30, 1991. I'm in Masters lol. I know a few people who will be 15 by worlds but are in Seniors since they started the season as 14 years old.
