Ruling Skarmory BCR vs Pyroar

It may be a dumb question but I'd like a clarification before I decide on my new build...


Will Skarmory's attack Swift go through Pyroar's ability Intimidating Mane? Or is an ability not an "effect"? Thanks in advance!

Pyroaro's Abilty Indimidating Mane counts as an effect on it, so the answer is yes. Attacks with this wording go through all Abilties effecting the defending Pokemon, as well as other effects such as Tools (ex. Hard Charm), effects from attacks that reduce damage taken, etc. Cards like that Skarmory, among others with similar attacks can hit Pyroar despite being basic Pokemon.
