Ruling Smeargle's trace

Hello

If Smeargle uses Trace and wins the coin flip, can it target a Flygon LX on the bench and KO it?

What happens if the Flygon LX has an Unown G on it??

If you win the coin flip, you can use any attack of a benched Pokemon. If the Flygon Lv.X is indeed on the bench, then you could use it's X-Treme Attack to do 150 damage to it, or any other Lv.X they have in play for that matter.
Unown G does not block the damage of E-Xtreme Attack, because doing damage is not an effect of an attack.

Follow up question: does unown G prevent the effect of trace?

EX: Dialga G X w/ unown G is targeted by trace, can i use deafen?

Is the Pokemon with Unown G being affected by anything? It's merely being looked at for what attacks it has. Unown G does not prevent Trace from targeting the Pokemon it's attached to.
