hey everyone, just curious if anyone has sleeves that have a very strong noticeable odor.

i bought some ultra pro white sleeves, and they smell like sweet play-doh. its not that bad of an scent, but its also quite strong.

never had this problem with the other ultra-pro deck protectors with other colors.

anyone know anything about this?

thanks

I'm sorry but I can't help but LOL:p! But anyways back on topic I've never smelled ultra pro sleeves or any sleeves for that matter but my friend told me that his sleeves don't have a play-doh scent.

okay. its just a very interesting smell and i was wondering if it was only the white sleeves that smelled
i have pink red black green, and they all dont smell

I've gotten Ultra-Pro sleeves that smelled like super glue/ permanent markers. When I opened the pack the smell just got me. I've had them for a few years now and they still sort of smell like that.

These sleeves were Blue holo/glitter.

I've had white Ultra Pros before and they never smelled like that for me, my best guess is that they just need to air out, so maybe leave them outside for a bit or something.

Maybe the process and materials used to make the sleeves leave a certain smell behind.

Strange topic... I've never known Prerelease sleeves to smell, but maybe Ultra Pro ones do. Even if I did have Ultra Pro ones, I probably wouldn't smell them! This is quite a funny thread.

nope, its the sleeves. probably just residual residue from manufacturing process
just wondering if this was only on the white ultra pro sleeves

No, but I have some sleeves that attract dirt really easily. Related? Doubt it.

Same as Glaceon, my old Ultrapros would get dirty if you didn't play with a mat. Took me 10 mins. to scrape it off.

I've heard about this, and the people that have smelly sleeves use lot of hand lotion/gel. If not that, it might be were the sleeves were sold or stored.
