BW/BW2 Sold out for 2 weeks?

I went to Gamestop today and got Celebi, when I got into a conversation with the clerk there. He said that if you don't preorder or reserve a copy of Black and White, they will be sold out for two weeks. The company is sending a direct amount. Seems like this game is going to be big.
 
wow.....im glad i preordered mine. it is like the biggest game in like WELL ever...
 
They always say that. They order the amount they need from the preorders and order very few extras. Two weeks is a tad extreme...I think a week would be more common, but whatever. I'm sure other stores like Target, Wal Mart, and Toys R Us will have plenty of copies.

Well, there's always Wal-mart... Really, from past experience, there's always a surplus of these games at any store you shop at. And if you don't get the games right away, you can always get it later on.
 
For the record, I actually gave up on preorders because of scare tactics like this. If you actually believe they're not going to have enough copies of the games, you've got another thing coming. Trust me, they'll be there in surplus! I got tired of being conned like that because any time I went into Best Buy, Wal-Mart, or Gamestop the past few years to get a Pokemon title on the day of the release, they were always in-stock and they always told me they had a bunch in the back of the store too.
 
i would think that they would get maybe 1000 copies...maybe less but with such and IN DEMAND game i wouldnt doubt it.
 
^lol i when i wrote that i was like maybe lower naw its might be 1000. maybe 500 then. i know it would be a more than needed amount because of the reputation it has.
 
Yeah EB Games like doing this. I went there yesterday to download Celebi and the guy working there stopped me and said I was not allowed to do that unless I pre-order Black or White. I told him no that's not how it works and what not, be he wouldn't listen. So I just sat in the food court outside and just downloaded Celebi that way. So yeah, just a scare tactic for them to make some cash.

I'm pretty sure they gave me the whole pre-order or else speech for a different game a few years back. Can't remember which one it was.
 
@Apollo: Were you around when the wii came out? It took me two weeks after the release date to get it, and it was pure luck I got it. But of course it was a game system and not a game...

But anyway, I'm still upset that gamestop isn't going to have any preorder gifts. >_>
 
^it took me a year here :(. even then they only had like 3 left. im sure it will be the same. being the highest grossing game before its even released...this of after...oh man.
 
^....what no. if 100 people preordered...which isnt hard they would have none to give to none preorder people most like 200+
