Hey all,

I love Lurantis GX and her attack and want to build a deck around her. Here is what I have so far.

Pokémon (18)

3x Cosmog
2x Cosmoem
3x Solgaleo GX
3x Fomantis
3x Lurantis GX
2x Remoraid
2x Octillery

Trainer (31)

3x Professor Sycamore
3x N-supporter
2x Skyla
2x Lysandre
4x VS Seeker
4x Ultra Ball
3x Rare Candy
4x Trainer's Mail
2x Level Ball
2x Float Stone
1x Super Rod
1x Forest of Giant Plants

Energy (11)

4x Rainbow Energy
4x Metal Energy
3x Grass Energy

My theory is this. I want to use Lurantis as the main attacker and use Solgaleo for the GX move, and the Ultra Road as to not get stuck with something as Active. I have the 2-2 Octillery line for draw support, but I am torn by possibly adding a 2x Oranguru and then taking 1 of the 2-2 line to add another Cosmog. The other 2 space could be used for extra Forest (or another staduim) or Brock's grit. I am not hung up on the rainbow energy, but I think by using that I won't get stuck with low grass or metal energies. Solgaleo's GX move does allow me to get Rainbows as well. Shaymin EX is out of the question as I don't have any and I don't want to spend the $$, when it will be rotated out in a few months. So any advise you all can give me would be great.

I've seen this played with decent success with Wobbafet GEN and Silent Lab. You get a float stone on Wob and start with him, shutting down the other players abilities of all the relevant Pokémon except Hoopa. When you're ready to use your ultra road ability you drop a silent lab and then Wob is shut down, allowing you to switch out even without the float stone. Wob also has a decent follow up attack in case you need to attack with Lurantis, allowing you to take a 2 hit KO and only leave a one prize attacker up.

The biggest weakness is Volcanion, which also is hurt by Wob and the lab. A weakness policy or two might be worth it. I'm not sure the deck really needs draw support from Octillary as the N/Sycamore/Skyla should be enough to find what you need early and once you get going the extra draw isn't too needed. I would consider adding in a revitalizer or two for easy retrieval of the Lurantis line.

Also, Solgaleo is a fine main attacker in this deck since Lurantis can power him up quick.

So if I drop the 2-2 Octillery, I am thinking +1 Wobuffet and +2 Silent Lab. I think I will drop Forest, as I have pokeballs to get what I need out pretty fast. Plus, I have seen a lot of decks with Decidueye that I can use their stadium to get Lurantis. With adding revitalizer, what supporters do you think I can sacrifice in order to add revitalizer? Maybe -1 VS Seeker and -1 Trainer's mail?

You almost always want 4 VS Seeker, that's not really an option to drop. I'd be more likely to drop 1 Skyla or 1 Lysandre.

But if you are dropping 2/2 Octillary and Foreset, that's 5 slots open. You could put in 2 Wob, 2 Labs, and then 2 Revitalizers if you also drop one of the Skyla or Lysandre. Another drop option might be the level ball. Test it several ways and see what works best. What's your local meta look like or are you playing online?

Locally there seems to be M Gardevoir, Decidueye, or Volcanion. I played a Lycanroc GX deck last week at league challenge and we rocked by Gardevoir. I think next time my Delphox break deck may come out of retirement. I want to make this work and I appreciate your help. I think -1 Skyla would be the way to go. I like having Olympia somewhere, but I can see where to put her.

Olympia for switching is not needed in this deck due to the Ultra Road ability on Solgaleo, and just running her for healing is weak. If you have 1 Ultra Road up and someone on the bench with a Float Stone, you can make anything your active as well as clear all status conditions with the ability plus free retreat. If you have 2 Ultra Road on board then you can also do the same thing even without float stone.

If you wanted the healing you'd be better off with Pokémon Center Lady, or even Max potion since Solgaleo losses all the energy after the attack anyway. I'm not really sure it's needed though, but try it and see how consistent it is.

That would get the same effect as the Silent Lab. It doesn't shut down your own Ultra Road, but it also doesn't shut down their Decidueye or Greninja Break (Not seen quite as much unfortunately) It's major weakness compared to Wob is having a useless attack, plus being a stage 1 so it takes up more space. Wobbuffet has a really good follow up attack. Lurantis's second attack + Wob is a guaranteed 2 hit KO on everything in game, at least that I can think of at the moment.

This is the Wob I'm talking about, I know there's a couple prints:

Is that print even legal in Standard format?

EDIT: Yes, it is. It's a Generations Card.

Yes, as you mentioned it's from Generations so it's currently standard legal, and will most likely survive rotation also. It's an exact reprint of the Phantom Forces one so you could use that print if you have it instead.

I've seen this deck in action. Solgaleo is actually your main attacker so you may want to change your energy up to something like 6 Metal, 3 Grass, 2 Rainbow so that Lurantis can power Solgaleo back up. The plan is to rush out a Solgaleo, milling some energy for Lurantis, but you should aim to use Sol Burst the majority of the time. Consider a 1 count attacker of something that benefits from loads of energy like Lugia EX, or Tapu Lele GX when it comes out. I would maybe drop the 1 FoGP, 1 Ultra Ball, 1 Skyla, and 1 Lysandre for above suggestions and maybe a Silent Lab, Deliquent and/or Field Blower when it comes out. I'd say tech it however you like but realize the Solgaleo is your best attacker. Final thought: Max Potion!!!!

I run this deck with two copies of Max Potion. I run don't run any stadiums though as the Volcanion Matchup is so bad it really doesn't help IMO. As For FOTGP I dont see it speeding up the deck a whole lot faster. I also run two Shaymin (budget permitting). As far as energy I run 6 metal 4 grass. Been trying to find a way to help the volcanion matchup. As stated above the best way is to use Sunsteel Strike discard energy and then bring up Lurantis to bring back energy to Solgaleo then rinse and repeat. Also another thought on this deck is Assualt Vest if you can find the room.

Thanks all,

I ran it this week during league and I found some weaknesses. I like the idea of Max Potion. Also with the new expansion, I think it could become stronger. Thanks for the ideas and I will post a revised decklist tonight.
