Writing Sonic Heroes - Beach Edition - A Date to Die For

Well, I see that Athena isn't Amy. Smart move. Still going good!
That salad-eating woman threat was very well serious. Plus, someone (not mentioning names, but he has blown up the forums before) mentioned TCG mods Mora + Luis would be perfect... and I have to agree ^_^

I was half-expecting you to still make me Amy. My bluff worked!

In the meantime, in honour of Mora, have a shark eating salad:

<MtC> u_u
<MtC> What on Earth is this place?
<MtC> It’s soooo bright u_u
<Luis> Nah it’s not bright
<Luis> Like at all
<Luis> It’s exciting ^_^
<Luis> Feeling lucky?
<Vom> Luuis!!!
<Vom> We’ve only got 24 hours left !_!
<Luis> Ha!
<Luis> No problem
<Luis> Lucky is my middle name!
<MtC> Actually, it isn’t-
<Luis> You get my point >:L
<Vom> *mumble* we’ll never make it in time…

We land on a bunch of springs and bounce our way to the first platform. We stand awestruck for a few moments, gazing out at the night lit by red, green, orange… neon lights displaying a multitude of different colours.

<MtC> What a city...
<Vom> All these buildings and roads
<Vom> They’re all part of a gigantic pinball table!
<Luis> You can’t get enough slots ^^

Straight ahead of us is our first pinball table. We jump into a cannon and blast onto the ahead pinball surface, automatically rolling into yellow, red and blue balls respectively. We don’t bother on the first table - there was bound to be more. Once we’d gotten the hang of the green flippers, we flip our way to the top of the first table and onto the second platform.

<Luis> Huh?
<Luis> These robots are playing dress ups
<MtC> wth
<Vom> PMJ must love trolling
<Vom> A robot in a bunny onesie?
<Vom> Like wat
<MtC> Who woulda known - PMJ has a taste of style
<MtC> Cause this one’s wearing a suit :>
<MtC> With a bowtie
<Luis> Why?
<Vom> Cause bowties are cool :>

We destroy the bad - or good depending on which way you look at it - robots and make our way to yet another… thing… that you’d only find in a casino city. Bouncy spheres.

<Vom> Hey look!
<Vom> You can even jump on those green spheres
<Vom> This place has everything
<Vom> Boing ^_^

We turn on a switch and follow a neon arrow to a set of rings conveniently placed in a light-dashable line for us, which lead us onto a nearly blinding orange and purple pillar.

<MtC> Lemme get out my shades
<MtC> I need them now
<MtC> And I swear Im gonna need them later

We destroy a long green turtle bot and pull a switch, opening a door decorated with more neon lights. Then we destroy a cage and a collect a key, and make our way to a glass dead end.

<MtC> Dead end?
<MtC> Nah
<MtC> Leave it to me boyz
<MtC> I’ll bust our way through!

MtC did just that, shattering the glass bottom. We jump right through and land ourselves on another pinball table! Hooray. We roll down the table, rolling into bouncers, and make our way to a glowing red ramp. We loop around that and find ourselves on another pinball, but this time it was big. A slot machine was located in the upper centre of the table, which could hold up to 3 pinballs - Luis, Vom and MtC. Unfortunately the latter two had a mind of their own and went berserk, so Luis just made his way up to the table exit after collecting a few rings from the slots.

Upon exiting the table, we land on a green platform with a checkpoint ahead of us. Either side of the checkpoint were palm trees. SEGA must like palm trees. We jump on some bouncers, which bounce up onto another platform. Another robot was playing dress-ups here, this time dressed as some flashing casino-clown. We destroy all the robots on the platform and make our way to a red target.

<MtC> I wonder what this does
<MtC> *punches*

MtC punches the target, which flings forward and then back, somehow shooting forward on the back flip. We land in another ramp, this time leading down onto a roulette table! Rolled up as pinballs, the three of us circle the roulette for a couple of times before rolling down another ramp and landing on another pinball table. A single flip of a flipper sent us flying through the exit and onto another platform.

<Vom> wooaah
<Vom> That made my head spin
<MtC> Feeling a little
<MtC> *shades*
<MtC> flippy, are we?

Straight ahead of us are gigantic, floating red dice and a pinball table. We fly along the dice and land above a large slot machine on the table, which all three of us successfully roll into. We hit the first reel. Heroes Symbol. The second wheel. Another Heroes Symbol.

<Luis> Did I tell you that our winnings get tripled when there are three of us the machine?
<MtC> It also triples our loses ._.
<Luis> Hey, be optimistic!
<Luis> I’m feel lucky! $.$

After a moments of suspense, we hit the third reel. Eggman. Large numbers flash across the screen: -200.

<Luis> dammit
<MtC> Hey, be optimistic!
<Luis> *full-fist punch*
<Vom> Feeling lucky where you? x_x

After that optimistic loss, we bashed our way through the table to another platform. Bouncing onto another, we discover three turtle-bots guarding a door. Welp, Team Blast. We literally blast around, destroy everything in site - pity there was only 3 bots, open the door and smash some more glass. We jump down and discover yet another new bot. However, this one wasn’t exactly playing dress-ups...

<Vom> Oh hello
<Vom> A new bot
<Vom> I wonder what it does o.0

*MtC wanders too close to the bot
*Bot captures MtC
<MtC> Hey let me out!
<Vom> O
<Vom> It appears that they take you to another dimension
<Vom> Probs the one where ninjas lives
<Luis> ocomeon
<Luis> Let’s go - there’s still slots to raid <3
<Vom> I swear the slots are raiding our pockets :V

We destroy the bot that had captured MtC, and then destroy the other bots who had joined the party, and fly up to another platform. I notice a big neon sign saying “FIREBALL”. Nothing important, of course. We punch another target and get flung onto perhaps the brightest loop I’ve ever seen, and, naturally, run the loop. We find ourselves on another platform with a cannon, and jump into it. We get shot across onto another table - woopidoo.

Nothing special on the table, bar a few slots which we tried our luck on, and got nothing… again. We quickly make our way past the pinball table exit to another platform, this one centered with a hallway.

<Vom> Hey
<Vom> ninjas told me that the hallway was generally impossible to get through
<Luis> Why?
<Vom> Cause it would be guarded by lasers!
<Vom> I wonder who turned it off
<MtC> o that must’ve been me
<MtC> I hit a switch while exploring the table before
<MtC> but didnt think it was important
<MtC> so didnt mention it
<Vom> facepalm.jpg
<Luis> Well, no time to waste!
<Luis> Let’s explore
<Luis> I told you I was feeling lucky $>

We race up the hallway, eager to discover what normally was barricaded. Two cages containing loot were found - one, a key, and the other, a 1-up! We pull a switch that magically cause a trail of rings to appear. I get Luis to light-dash to a-

<MtC> Waita second
<MtC> You better tell what actually happened
<MtC> Nothing escapes my prying eye :V

*sigh* Well, the first time I tried this I ended up missing the rings and completely missed the looming loot. I restarted, of course. Why? My screen recorder wasn’t working. Hey, it’s true! I also couldn’t miss this story whatsoever, so whatever. Besides, there’s no video evidence >:UU. Anyways, we light dash this trail of rings to a… golden VIP pinball table!! Excite!

<Luis> VIP slots!!

<MtC> Feeling lucky were you

<Luis> Aaaaaand we missed the other 1-up
<Luis> Great
<MtC> Feeling lucky were you

We drop through the VIP table (it was accidental, I swear) and roll down another ramp, making our way to the goal ring. Hooray.

<Luis> Aaaaaaaand we got nothing good
<MtC> FEELING LUCKY WERE YOU X_X
<Vom> At least we got a 1-up n~n
<MtC> That was to compensate that restart :L

<Luis> Starting as pinballs
<Luis> Yup legit
<Vom> Yippeeee!!

We start, as Luis said, as pinballs on a much more intricate table than the previous stage. This table is flashing blue, with weird snowflake discs spinning on poles in front of us. Will torpedo down the right side of the table and roll onto a ramp that takes us to a first platform, and discover a new robot:

<MtC> Why does that bot have a searchlight? o.o
<Vom> Ummmmm
<Vom> It’s probably look for us
<Luis> I wonder what would happen if it sees us?
<MtC> No don’t-

*Luis waves at Robot
<Luis> Wakey wakey
<MtC> Nothing happened n.n;
<Luis> *bouncebounce*
<MtC> Still nothing happened n.n;;
<Luis> *zoomzoom*
<Robot> !!!!!
<MtC> k something happened .--.

*Robot summons more Robots
<Vom> It appears that if we are detected, other robots will be called to help!
<MtC> thnx not helpful

We destroy the summoned robots to open a semi-decagon door, which leads us through a glass pipe. The end of the pipe did a sharp 90 degree turn upwards… which would normally be a problem if there wasn’t a fan for us to triangle dive. It looks like we had found our way into an air vent. We traingle dive to start floating and pop out at the top of a pipe. Floating down, we destroy more robots and a glass floor, which drops us onto a small pinball ramp. Rolling onto bouncers, we bounce onto another platform, guarded by another searchlight robot. Or to be more accurate, guarding a switch to turn off spinning oversized dice.

<Vom> ‘ey this robot’s different
<Vom> It’s silver!
<Luis> And it’s impenetrable!
<MtC> For you
<MtC> I’ll crush it with my bare four hands :>

We destroy a the metal robot (which conveniently summoned more when MtC stepped too close) and flick the switch to stop the dice from spinning. We hop across the oversized dice, passing a checkpoint along the way, and enter our first pinball table. Well, not pinball exactly...

<Luis> Sweet!
<Luis> There’s bingo on the table
<Luis> You know
<Luis> I’m good at bingo
<MtC> O, so your luck is going to hold from the previous stage? y/n >:L
<Vom> We’re getting bingos today, Im sure of it
<Luis> Keep that optimistic attitude!
<MtC> *mutters* you’ll need it :U
<Luis> Besides, all we need to do is roll into those big, circular number chips to collect them
<Luis> Not like theyre actually hard to miss :U
<Vom> btw do I get to call BINGO?
<Luis> w/e
<Vom> ^_^

We shoot down the BINGO table at full speed and pummel straight into the first number - 1, and immediately hit a junction. We choose right in the heat of the moment and to grab a 2. It looks like we missed 3, which was probably located on the left route. No time to relax, though, as we hurtle into number 4. We strike barrier, which gives way after a few hits, allowing us to collect numbers 5 and 6.

<Vom> Aaaand…
<Vom> BINGOOOOOOOOO!

We grab our first BINGO, and are suddenly hurtled into the air. Airborne, we thrust forward into number 7 to score yet another BINGO. Landing back onto the table, we collect chip 8-

<Vom> T-T-TRIPLE BINGOOOOOOOO!!!!

-and shoot down a narrow part of the table, a bit like a hallway. At the end of the section is 9, which we collect for another BINGO and a nearly perfect score! We burst out of the BINGO table and land on a smaller pinball table. After a seemingly age of flipping, we shoot across the table and onto the next platform.

<Vom> Hey!
<Vom> There’s a gold robot [that isnt a turtle]!
<MtC> $.$
<Vom> I wonder what it does
<Luis> It’s got more life duh
*Luis destroys the robot
<Luis> But not enough :U

We destroy some more robots and run towards a mini roulette wheel and a dice. Jumping on the dice and using it as an elevator, we reach another platform. Vom shoots an enemy while we race down a corridor, jumping on more dice along the way. We run into some bouncers and shoot onto a one-way table, collect some loot (including a 1-up) and continue racing down the table. At the end of the table is more bouncers, which we run into, landing us outside another glass vent. We Team Blast away the enemies and race inside, doing the triangle dive and whatever that I already described. At the top of the vent is more enemies, which we destroy merciless (not like robots have feelings), which leads to more glass that requires breaking.

We break the glass and land on another BINGO table (hooray). We roll down the table and collect numbers 1, 3 and 4… and fall off the table through a gap.

<Vom> Oh hey it’s steep here
<Luis> Ever think about telling us earlier?
<Vom> Yes actual-
<Luis> ihy

We respawn and do the whole leg of that again (which I want detail because boring). Once we eventually reach the same BINGO table, we recollect 1, 3 and 4, as well as 5 that was positioned precariously on top of a boundary-less platform, which gave us our first BINGO for the table. We roll into 6 for the next BINGO and then come across a… difficult situation. 7, 8 and 9 where all positioned horizontally meaning I could only get 1 - or 2 - numbers at the moment. I lose control here and smash straight through number 8, which turned out to be the worst number I could gain there - and roll into another ramp. This one takes us to another pinball table, which I decided to ignore cause bad luck. We drop down some laser tunnel, jump across some more dice and reach a new platform. Destroying more enemies, we continue to climb plaftorms and boost our way to another quite-far-off platform. This one - however - has lots of glass floors. Huzzah.

<Luis> More glass o_O
<Luis> Who even bothers putting all this in?
<MtC> *sighs* I’ll break it again
<Vom> OUCHOUCHOUCH
<Vom> I THINK IVE GOT GLASS IN MY TAILS ;_;
<Luis> o_O
<MtC> o_O
<Luis> Faker >:L
<Vom> ;_;
<Vom> b-b-but…

We Team Blast the enemies while MtC destroys the said floors and discovers a switch, which we promptly turn on. The switch stops more spinning dice so we could scale them, which we did at a lively pace. At the top of the dice-elevator, we find yet another BINGO table.

<MtC> Heck how many bingo tables are there?
<MtC> This is exhausting already
<Luis> Exhausting?
<Luis> pfftt
<Luis> Now
<Luis> If we do this carefully
<Luis> We can get second chances ^_^
<Vom> Really?
<Vom> How-
<Vom> *crash*
<Vom> oops
<Luis> o.o
<Luis> Or we go all in ._.
<Luis> And lose everything .-.
*MtC dies
*Vom dies
*Luis dies
<Luis> Called it .-.

<Vom> O there’s this aerial bingo after this table right?
<Luis> yup
<Vom> #hype ^-^

This ‘second chance’ thing actually involved getting Luis to carefully roll into the BINGO table without MtC or Vom following so that if Luis dies, he would automatically be redirected to where his teammates were - without losing a life. Unfortunately, the first time didn’t exactly work as planned… although the 2nd, and 3rd, and 4th, and - well, you get the point; a lot of times - were executed so we got those second chances. It appears that I fully well need those considering I fell from the table 5+ times Dx.

After X amount of attempts, I managed to control Luis all the way to the end of the table while collecting 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 9 with a total of 4 BINGOS. I hit a bouncer and launch Luis into Aerial BINGO.

<Luis> There it is!
<Luis> Aerial bingo ^_^
<Luis> Hey where’s Vom
<Luis> o he died
<Luis> Pity

My Aerial BINGO skills appear to be quite rough - we only get 1, 4, 6 and 9 without BINGOs. Luis soars onto a platform at a velocity of d/t, which, fortunately, boasts the goal ring. The platform that is. Hooray.

<MtC> Oh, this looks fun!
<Vom> Yeah, well… err, Luis...
<Vom> Do you have, like, a plan?
<Luis> I don’t have ‘like a plan’
<Luis> I do have a plan!
<Luis> It’s called hit and destroy
<Vom> *sigh*

We land on a cylindrical platform quite high up in the city, which is where the battle commences. A bunch of flying bots spawn after PMJ’s so-very-fantastic warcry, which just appeared to stand float there doing absolutely nothing. A quick homing attack finished them. Our next wave was virtually a repeat of that. PMJ decided to get a bit more fancy by throwing a few silver robot things with spears into mix, although those were decimated stupidly easily by MtC’s fists. Our fourth wave gave us more flyign robots, although this time in their primary colours. We take a few down and go take a breather (wat) by discovering a spring:

<Vom> OooooOOoooo
<Vom> Where does this spring lead?
<Vom> *boing*

A balloon can be found at the heights of the balloon, which MtC wisely suggests we leave. Naturally, Vom decides to pop it anyways and gain a Team Blast. #wasteyolo We decide to use the prize on the floating robots that we had left alone, to quicken the pace. The wave that followed consisted of - you guessed it - more flying robots, this time equipped with annoying zappers. MtC attempted to destroy them single-handed, although unfortunately couldn’t make the air and got zapped. Vom took over instead. As I said, annoying zappers. Wave x consisted of yet more flying things, this time dropping bombs, accompanied with shielded robots. Luis and MtC made quick work of those.

The next wave saw more flying things, effectively Wave 1 and Wave 2 mashed together. Not like it achieved anything. We used another Team Blast on this cause #timesavers. The next wave had more flying things, which this time could capture a team member, although fortunately these were a different brand and were less ugly. Still ugly though. The next wave brought out the big guns. That is, the scary armoured turtles. They got demolished by fiery eruptions and Team Blasts embarrassingly quickly. The next wave brang a bit of a mix of everything thrown at us so far, from turtles to silver robots and flying things. Unfortunately we had to destroy each of these individually, which was painstakingly slow. The wave preceding so a crescent of shielded, grounded bots headed by a gold robot. We destroyed the gold robot, which appeared to have a enabler switch as each of his low workers combusted. We unleashed another Team Blast he for the lols, and then finally the battle ended.

<Luis> Like seriously
<Luis> We just went to the Beach, the City and the Casino just to get back here
<MtC> At least we’re on rails instead of having to chase you :U (See Prologue)
<Luis> *grumblestomp-*
<Luis> Actually, that’s a bad idea

<Luis> Hey Vom

<Luis> Hmph - we probably should get moving
<Luis> MtC, Vom
<MtC> Yo
<Vom> Yo
<Luis> Full speed ahead!
<Vom> *choochoo*

We immediately begin our race against time on a set of rails in the midsts of giant rock canyons, upon receiving a few tips on grinding. Luis grinded along the central rail, with Vom on the left and MtC on the right. Luis makes a comment on the view (which is quite spectacular providing you’re not falling off the rails), while MtC being the wiseguy he is cautions Luis to keep his eyes on the rails. We skate into a few bouncers that shoot us to another much, much shorter rail. We interrupt a robot party and hold onto an elevator thing that takes us to an elevated platform. We turn on a spinning switch to only race down more rails and kill more bots. And more rails. Midway through a rail grind, we find some company:

<Luis> Sick dinos :U
<Luis> On wheels :U
<Luis> Wanna rac-
*Dinos blow up rails
<Vom> THE RAILS!!!!!!
<Luis> Not so sick dinos then e.e;
*Luis jumps
*Vom jumps
*MtC jumps
<Luis> Phew
<Luis> That was close
<MtC> They’re pulling out all the tricks :L

We continue down the next rail we jumped until we hit more bouncers, that shoot us across to an enclosed area with a pole as an only exit.

<Vom> Another pole!
<MtC> Hey Luis
<MtC> There’s a Team Blast nearby
<MtC> So let’s grab that fir-
<Luis> *tornadospin*
<MtC> YOU ALWAYS DO THAT TO ME
<Luis> Do what?
<MtC> Ignore me :V
<Luis> Hey keep your cool :U
<Luis> *spamsjumpbutton*
<Luis> Guys
<Luis> How do you get off this pole-thing O.O
<MtC> Don’t make me say ‘told you so’ >__>

Upon reaching the top of the pole, we are launched into a locked door. We flick a switch, destroy a guarding robot and reach yet more rails leading from what appears to be a station. We jump straight into grinding, noticing a large red and black train with horns.

<Luis> What’s up with these trains?
<Luis> That look weird
<Vom> I wouldn’t try understanding PMJ’s head if I was you...

We race past the train and reach what appears to be a circular terminal. Breaking through some very useless barricades, we enter the centre of the terminal to find another pole. Luis makes another tornado to reach a higher platform. We lightdash a trail of rings to reach another platform that exits to more rails. These had (effective) red barricades on the sides of the outermost rails. There was a slight jump section that is fairly glitchy; you had to literally not touch your controls our you’d fall. Unfortunately I forgot about that and thus did fall. Whoooops. Second time lucky, I guess, as we pass this point to travel along more repetitive loops of rails.

<MtC> All this spinning o_o
<Vom> All this falling o_o
<Luis> All these trains ^_^
<Vom> Ah Luis
<Vom> Those trains are armoured with spikes
<Vom> And coming right at you
<Luis> O_O
<Luis> Not again
*Luis jumps
*Vom jumps
*MtC jumps
<Luis> Phew
<Luis> That was tight
<Luis> Literally

The next segment involved traversing through a maze of platforms and rails, which wasn’t overly difficult. More rails unsurprisingly ensued, leading us to another station, this time with a train parked right in our path. We jump off the rails to climb around the bulky thing, find another pole and are flung to another elevated platform.

Finally, something new. We across a long platform to a very much oversize fan, which we use the currents of to reach more rails. We perform some nifty jumps to turn more switches on to progress further. This rail deposited us into a rail segment that featured oversized runaway trains.

<Vom> Aaaaaaah!
<Vom> They’re chasing us!
<Luis> Hey, no worries
<Luis> Nothing can beat me
<MtC> Except those dinos-on-wheels
<MtC> And those trains that are right behind us
<Luis> Wait what?
<MtC> Ever listen in to your physics teacher?
<Luis> No
<MtC> Figures
<MtC> Doing too much chemistry I guess

The trains rammed full pelt into us throwing us completely off the tracks. Four other attempts through this segment proved unsuccessful, showing how out of practice I am. At least we got a 1-up in the process, I guess. >_> The final attempt (which was successful yay) was effectively me being as safe as I could be. Anyways, a few more rails and falls and stuff led to a particularly large train terminal, which was also the location of the Goal Ring! Fancy that.

<MtC> Hey look!
<MtC> It’s the goal ring!

<Vom> Yeah, well
<Vom> It’s getting a spookier around this base o_o;
<MtC> It’s cause PMJs ghost haunts the centre!
<Vom> OO;;;;;;
<MtC> jk
<Vom> ihy u____u;;

We hijacked one of the trains in the previous zone to get to Bullet Station. The area is quite industrial - you can see the stereotypical architecture ordered by PMJ all around. Poor environment. Anyways, the zone begins with skating down a short set of rails to a platform. We destroy a few pitiful guards and start triangular jumping from the vertical ways of a hallway that was straight ahead of us. Balloons and flipping platforms were littered along the corridor, although we dodged the platforms and collected the balloons, including a 1-up! We reached the opposite side of the hall and discover three weird capsules.

<Luis> What the heck are these things?
<Vom> They’re capsules!
<MtC> Sheesh, they’re three times taller than me! :<
<MtC> I wonder what they’re used for.
<Luis> Well, it doesn’t concern us
<Luis> And we’re on a deadline
<MtC> :V
<MtC> Fine, fine, I’ll smash them
<Luis> Good

We smash the capsules into smithereens and take a sharp turn down another platform. We jump on a looped rail that is patrolled by a rhino-on-wheels. We destroy a few more capsules and grab a key, then jumping onto another set of rails, although this time embedded into a platform. We jump to another platform to discover a large dome quite a bit ahead of us. There was no way we could get there at this point, so we break the grate lid and drop down into a tunnel.

<Luis> woaaaaah
<Luis> What a drop
<MtC> Is this a… tunnel?
<Luis> No duh
<Luis> We’re on a train!
<MtC> Must be what transports supplies around this base.
<Vom> I wonder how long this thing is!
<Vom> Woah
<Vom> And how deep underground we are o.o;
*Vom moves to the edge of the train.
<MtC> *shove*
<Vom> MAAACHAAAAAAMP >:U
<Vom> That’s so mean ;_;
<Luis> Aaaaaanyways
<Luis> Let’s destroy this train!

The train was transporting capsules, which we destroyed, wooden crates, which we destroyed, and guards, which we destroyed. Once we destroyed everything we could, we raced to engine core, which MtC destroyed with his four bare hands. An explosion instigated immediately and we were flung out onto more rails. A large spike-ball was located in the centre of the rail, which we attempted to dodge although jumped slightly too far and missed the side rail. Whoops. We fall to our deaths and redestroy the train. We manage to dodge the the spike-ball effectively and grind down the rails to what appeared to be a station.

There is a cannon in the middle of the station to shoot us to higher ground. MtC jumps in first, although shoots himself to some platform directly ahead of us, instead above us. Vom jumps in next, shooting us to higher ground as required. We destroy a robot to unlock a box holding a switch. After turning it on to connect some rails, we start grinding again. Unfortunately the first time we jumped over the rails completely, causing us to jump in the cannon again. More grinding took us to a new platform, which had a few dino-rhinos on it.

<Vom> Hey lookie!
<Vom> More dino-rhinos o.0
<Luis> !!
<Luis> They’ve stolen our ride
<Luis> So we’ll destroy it :U
<MtC> n_n;;

We destroy one of the rhinos and steal the rail it was patrolling, giving us a shortcut to a pole. We make a tornado and spin across a couple more poles and to reach more rails. Literally working as a team to activate three switches simultaneously to unlock another door, we continue moving forward until we reach another dead end, where another grate was situated. So much repetition. Fortunately for the sake of my sanity, this drop didn’t take us to an underground train. Instead, we found a cannon to shoot us to where an oversized cannon was built into the cliff. The force behind the cannon allowed us break through another locked door so we could enter the cannon’s core and destroy guards with a good ol’ team blast.

<MtC> What /is/ that thing?
<Vom> Is it… the cannon’s core?
<Luis> Let’s check it out

<Vom> ooooo
<Vom> All of these machines ^_^
<MtC> Nononono
<MtC> No firing the cannon
<MtC> I’ve had enough of your recklessness for one-
*Luis jumps into the cannon
<MtC> ._____.

*Vom jumps into cannon
*MtC jumps into cannon
<Vom> Which way is the cannon facing!? O_O
<Cannon> *BOOOOM*

<Luis> Can someone please explain why exactly there are balloons littered throughout a cannon firing range o.o
<Luis> like wth
<Vom> Could someone explain how we’re defying the laws of physics and moving side to side midair like this?
<Luis> Ah, no
<Vom> Stupid SEGA logic :<
<MtC> Guys
<MtC> Could we, like, keep our focus ahead of us?
<MtC> Cause I’m, like, having a heart attack here X_____X
<Luis> Yeah, yeah, wtv
<Luis> Ohey, a 1-up
<Luis> I’ll take floating balloons any day
<MtC> X______X

*Luis lands on rail
*Vom lands on rail
*MtC lands on rail
<MtC> *phew*
<MtC> I think my heart stopped O__O;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Well, I know for sure mine didn’t - this part was much more relaxing than other parts of the zone. Anyways, Luis comes to a great realisation:

<Luis> Hey I remember whats up next
<Luis> The giganticulous fans
<Luis> You know
<Luis> The ones we always miss first-round cause glitches
<Luis> So MtC
<Luis> We need you to jumpstart your heart
<MtC> That’s asking too much! x___x

Miraculously we managed to reach the fans first attempt without a glitch. We use the fans to once again make higher ground. We finally found a checkpoint, which took longer than usual, and lightdashed our way to some more rails. A dome peculiarly similar to the one we noted previously could be seen in the distance and predictably there was another grate. We land on another [longer] train, which we destroy like expected. The explosion of this train sends us to a kart thing.

<Luis> Gokarts <3
<Luis> Even PMJ has them <3
<Vom> Remember to watch the lasers!!!
<Luis> Wait
<Luis> Since when did karting tracks have lasers? o_o
<MTC> …
<Luis> JUMP NOW VOM!
*Vom jum-
<MtC> Too slow >_>
*Luis dies
<MtC> Literally
*Go_Cart slows
<Vom> He’ll come back eventually o_o;

We manage to dodge more lasers without losing all three of our members. Anyways, the kart took us to another rail, which took us to more platforms, which took us to more locked doors and switches, which tooks us to another cannon.

<Luis> It’s another cannon <3
<MtC> .--.

*Luis jumps into cannon
*Vom jumps into cannon
*MtC jumps into cannon
<MtC> Hey
<MtC> There’s Egghead’s base straight ahead of us!
<Luis> I thought you were too scared to watch your surroundings when being shot out off a cannon :U
<MtC> My heart stopped :U
<MtC> I can’t tell my eyes to shut anymore
<Luis> ?___?
<MtC> But, you know
<MtC>I think I can live without the key this time round o_o;;;

The cannon shoots us to PMJ’s base, which explodes on impact. It doesn’t look like there was anything /in/ the base besides the odd capsule, but who cares - we finally did it!

*Luis has left Bullet Station
*Vom has left Bullet Station
*MtC has left Bullet Station

Okay, so this playthrough has been updated quite stagnantly due to time and my lesser motivation to update it. With my longest school holidays of the year looming soon, I technically should have enough time update fairly consistently. However, there is a problem. I'm not too sure if I want to be continuing a playthrough like this if my commitment levels to it are not overly high. One of my primary motivations is the viewers, and to be honest, there really is only three/four people showing particular enthusiasm. I have other projects that I could undertake during my spare time that could have a greater viewerbase, so ultimately I'm having to make the decision to complete this playthough, or abandon it for another project. I'm roughly halfway through the playthrough, or have about 10 to 15 chapters to go.

So, I'm going to leave my decision to complete or abandon this playthrough up to you, the viewer! Would you like to see through to this playthrough's completion, or do you not really mind? If you feel like you have nothing to say aside from a "yes" (or "no"), it'd be best to just "like" this post (for a "yes") to prevent clutter. :)

Edit: Fun Fact - I actually started this playthrough to get a bit of practice for the Mario Party 1 playthrough I wrote for The Challenge 6 of the Forum Games. :3

Hah, even though I remember you telling me that you were doing this for Challenge practice, I totally forgot about that until you mentioned it again just now. :p

I've been enjoying reading along, though I never really have much to comment on. I think that if you're enjoying it, then you should continue, but if you'd rather spend your free time on other stuff then there's no shame in letting it die.

Go ahead and continue! In my opinion, you're doing good to actually remember to come back. Better than I'm doing on my wonderlocke. Seriously, I haven't updated that thing in forever.

Well, if I do continue, it does bring me to something else. There are actually four "stories" to the game - Team Rose, Team Sonic, Team Chaotix and Team Dark. Each have their own backstories, however stages are largely the same. This stories give a bit more story to the plot. Basically, I'm wondering how I should implement these, if I do. Considering that the have near the same stages, would it be best to just do the cutscenes, which are around the same time as each of the other stories?

I'm not really familiar with the game at all, so forgive me if this doesn't make sense or sound dumb, but why not simply write-up/play each stage once but include the plot information from all the paths? You could probably even write the various levels from the POV of each team's characters or something to shake it up, if possible. I suppose this means you personally would have to start multiple save files or something (or look up the plot information on the interwebs, of course), but that would allow the playthrough story itself to stay on track and not get bogged down by repetition but still allow the plot information to all be included.

Fortunately doing this is all very easy, aside from the first four stage groups that I've already done. I can probably do a catchup episode before I continue with the game as I've written it. ^.^

I agree that having all four plotlines would be a great little gimmick that adds more depth to it all, because when you think about it, the playthrough seems to be more of a humorous script with not so much of a full storyline.
On a side note, I reckon it would be best if you make sure that each POV (that you want to include, because you don't necessarily need to include all of the stage for each team) is displayed chronologically through the completion of the stage (eg. in Ocean Palace, Team Sonic escapes the rolling stones, then switch to Team Dark, who just evaded them too, and then switch back to Sonic for the stage's completion). Also they should correspond to their position through each stage in a whole chronological storyline perspective. (eg. Team Rose passed through Grand Metropolis before Team Sonic).
