SP Pokemon...Basic?

I looked around, but didn't see anything written on the subject, but...apparently all SP Pokemon are Basic?

I am looking at SP Purugly, Crobat, and Houndoom G's, and they're all basic. I'm seeing this correctly, right? And if I am..seems like an odd change-up.
 
Yup. You have a new format with a lot of powerful basics.

They are and always will be Basic. They do not evolve from or to anything. You can always look below the name, and whatever it says is true. That means you can play them straight to the Bench from your hand, or even when you're starting. I will admit, this is a strange change up from the usual. Delta Pokemon changed the face of the TCG for the short time too. This will be the same. Next year, probably expect regular Pokemon again, although we're not completely sure.

I guess it would change back. Their weaknesses are x2, so you wouldn't want a whole deck of them. Face the wrong deck, and it could be an easy game without so much as evolving to Stage 1 lol
 
Actually, in future sets, not all SP Pokemon have x2 weakness. That being said, it's not as if you will get destroyed by weaknesses anyway.
